We enjoyed the show for the most part. But even though we suspend dis-belief with horror and sci-fi (because if you don't just change the channel) we still can't believe how in the world LA is empty.

Impossible.

DC area was pretty empty as well where they were in Alexandria. In TWD they explained that they had evac'd a lot of people out of DC, but they didn't make it so they setup shop there. Maybe big cities got all of the military support which got rid of a lot of the roaming zombies and people bailed on the cities (we saw traffic jams on the overheads and in Atlanta). Also, as we saw in that one arena, they locked people in there. Maybe lots of arena's in cities with lots of people who stayed.

I don't know, but I think big cities probably had tons of people bailing. So many ways out of LA it isn't even funny. Also, at this point people likely have enough stuff in their houses to stay alive for a few weeks, so maybe a lot of people just holed up waiting for news.

So many ways? Takes me nearly an hour to get home from LAX on a normal weekday and you think people are going to evacuate LA in a orderly fashion during the ZA?

I thought it was pretty good. Actually, even though the show's first season was slow in many ways, this show did a better job of describing how the apocalypse would unfold than the TWD did. TWD jumped right into it a month later, which I always thought was the wrong way to do it. I like Kim Dicken's character. She's going to be tough as nails.

As stated earlier, it had every opportunity to show what was happening around the country during the first few days. It would be all over TV and the Internet. No mention of what's going on in the government. People living in that fenced community and acting fairly normal even after they've seen dead people roaming around eating people. When did communication break down? How did it break down? Where's the ten million people around LA? Is this isolated to certain areas of the country? If not, they couldn't plan ahead or get a warning of their impending doom from TV or somewhere? That one kid is the only who figured out hordes of dead people were headed their way from across the country to eat them?

They did try a slight nod to this by having Travis asking about when will they be getting the phones back on when they were under lockdown, so assume that all methods of news gathering is gone to them at that point. The only thing that they could have hoped for would have been some ham radio nerd in the complex to get reports from other places.

I guess the prevailing answer to all your questions is this show is about the ZA from this groups POV and not a show about the ZA hitting the US.

So what was going on in the rest of the US is not really known to these guys, same for the government or even much of the outside LA area.

Not saying it could have been done better or different but I think the point is to give you their POV not explain in detail what and how everything was breaking down across the world

have to give themselves another option for a spin-off or avenue in case they need it. Makes sense because they all know about the endless possibilities they could do with this scenario

Other than the zombie druggie depp saw on day 1 the first reports of zombies came on day 3 with the news of the shooting of they guy on the freeway and the killing of a homeless man that Chris went to protest. Also on day 3 Madison and Tobias kill the zombie pricipal, the riots happen and the power starts to fail. Day 4 the national guard showed up and kept them from leaving.

ETA: Oops forgot drug dealer Calvin zombie, also day 3. Zombie Peter night 3. Zombie Susan Day 4.

Only there aren't any cliffs like that in Long Beach. Extrapolating a cut scene they took the basin to Long Beach got off and took Pacific coast highway to south Torrance and went up to Palos Verdes maybe?

The only really bad acting I noticed was Cliff Curtis kid. Granted, he's playing a teenage nitwit, so it may just be that he's annoying. The rest were either passable or good imo.

It's amazing to consistently watch a show that you don't like. Not only just watch it, but also become an insufferable jacknugget over it. Can't even watch with your wife cause all you do is complain and annoy her the whole time?? Post 500 times on here about it?

It's painfully pitiful. This show flips some sort of miracle switch in peoples brains and just shuts off all logic about anything and everything that has t do with watching shows because you LIKE them.
