***Official*** Heroes Thread (2 Viewers)

someone over at 9thwonders.com came up with a interesting idea. What if Peter really can't fly? He only uses the powers of those that he comes in contact with ala Rogue. His brother told him that after his brother caught him, that was when he flew. And he also touched the psychic and then having visions. But then again he also had visions before he visited the psychic.
Was getting a haircut today and they had the new TV Guide magazine there. They had a two-page layout about the characters. They even went into some spoilers. So if you don't want to read, stay away...SPOILERS
Thanks for the spoiler! It's interesting what he will be able to do. Sucks really if he doesn't have anyone's powers to absorb.BTW FBG edicate dictates that you WHITE OUT THE SPOILER in case people don't want to read it. TIA. :D
His is now whited out. Kindly edit your post likewise. TIA ;)

1. Why is a rape with bashing the head in necessary?2. Why is an autopsy with her putting her organs back in necessary?3. They have already shown the QB to be compassionate and pretty nice, i.e. checking on her after she got hit.4. This reeks of someone trying to throw out an outlandish spoiler to see how far it gets.It may well be true and I will definitely remember this, but it just seems way, way out there and the QB (unless the QB is not the guy who seemed to show interest in her, which her cheerleader friend was jealous of) seemed like a nice guy to try and force that story line.
There are 2 QBs. The one that "likes" her and the one that Claire pushed down the stairs. If this rumor is true I would think it was the "push down the stairs" QB.

So much for (HULK) putting it in a spoiler.

Episode 3 despcription

#1-3 "One Giant Leap"

THE "HEROES" CONTINUE TO DISCERN AND TEST THEIR NEWFOUND ABILITIES --As the "Heroes" continue to test their newfound extraordinary abilities, Claire (Hayden Panettiere) tries to maintain a normal social life when a romance with the football quarterback takes a tragic turn. While Hiro (Masi Oka) convinces his friend that they are destined to travel to America to save the world, a frightened Niki (Ali Larter) follows instructions from a mysterious, unknown source that directs her to the middle of the desert. Meanwhile, Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) uses Peter's (Milo Ventimiglia) accident to propel his political campaign. The elusive Sylar is being hunted by both Matt (Greg Grunberg) and the FBI, as well as Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), whose father's journal leads to potential clues. Santiago Cabrera, Tawny Cypress and Noah Gray-Cabey also star, and Clea Duvall and Nora Zehetner guest star.
Episode 4 description

NBC has released their official write-up for the fourth episode of Heroes. The episode is titled "Come Together," and it will air on Monday, October 16.

Here's the description. Be warned of spoilers!

THE WORLD BECOMES A BIT SMALLER FOR A HANDFUL OF ORDINARY MEN AND WOMEN WITH UNCANNY ABILITIES -- -- Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) finally tracks down one of his father's fabled genetically advanced "supermen." In Las Vegas, Hiro's (Masi Oka) plan backfires when he cautiously turns time to his advantage at the gambling tables. Niki's (Ali Larter) mafia debtors use their leverage to their benefit in a more elaborate scheme, while Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) pays a personal visit to a wealthy Vegas contributor to raise additional campaign funds. Following a tragic turn at a bonfire, Claire's (Hayden Panettiere) uncanny healing abilities are put to the ultimate test, but according to Issac's (Santiago Cabrera) paintings, her future could be fraught with even more peril. Meanwhile, Matt's (Greg Grunberg) abilities are gauged by a pair of men who seem to know a great deal about people with special gifts. Tawny Cypress, Noah Gray-Cabey and Milo Ventimiglia also star, and Jack Coleman ("Dynasty"), Clea Duvall ("Carnivale"), Matt Lanter ("Commander in Chief"), Kristin Veitch ("E! News Live") and Nora Zehetner ("Everwood") guest star.
This episode descriptions of 3 & 4 seems to jive with that spoiler though.

Done.

Maybe he is referring to her head getting bashed in. Remember that she has healed in a matter of seconds after every injury.
The rib sticking out of her wasn't healed within seconds. She had to push it back in, no?
Good point. Even if it doesn't take seconds, it doesn't very long. There is no way she could be injuried and be in the middle of an autoposy before she healed.

I think so. Her hand healed itself and she did nothing to it. She also did nothing to heal the burns from the fire. But other things like her neck twisting back and her popping in her arm required work.

My bad, I can't believe after 3 seasons of Lost and as careful as I was there, for as often as I posted. I would fix mine, but that wouldn't do anything since your post is now on the last page.By the way, I still think that it is BS and we will find out tonight. From Hulk's episode descriptions I am actually thinking something different:

They mention tragedy at the bonfire and you saw her and the guy she likes at the bonfire, so I am thinking this is about her using her ability to heal herself on others. Her going into the bonfire would do nothing as we have seen. I could see some sort of fight and the guy she likes falling into the bonfire and her trying to save him somehow.
Also, when did Claire push someone down the steps and how the heck did I miss that? Was that in the preview after episode 2? I am 99% sure it wasn't in the pilot since Claire wasn't at school in the pilot and I sure don't recall her pushing someone when she was at school getting hit on, getting hit by the player and in the lineup with the cop.

I don't think the show is being perfect with it, but maybe bone breaks take a little longer? I think the rib and shoulder were more for affect, so there would be a little comedy like the guy she was with pointing out that oops your rib is still hanging out and the shoulder thing is just common ever since Mel Gibson did it in Lethal Weapon.

As far as her healing goes it also shows that she does not have any pain. I think normal people would feel a bone sticking out of their body. So I guess Claire has healing powers and lack of pain powers.

I didn't take the time to go through this entire thread, but, I really like this show. Good stuff all around. Looking forward to tonight's episode.

:lmao: Like I said, I think that was more for effect than anything. She popped her shoulder back in immediately, so she had to have sensed that as she did with her neck backwards. I think the rib was so that she could keep talking and the camera guy could express some shock and tell Claire that something was still sticking out of her. Then she kind of does an oops, I forgot that, sticks it back in and goes on talking while we the audience are a little queasy and surprised.I didn't have a problem with it at all as I think it worked well in terms of the TV show, but pointing to that and trying to diagnose her exact powers, as is being done above, is not going to end well.

Best new show out there - looking foward to tonight! Great warm up for football!
I agree, I actually like the fall lineup this year. I will keep watching Heroes and Jericho as they both seem pretty good and actually seem to be getting better as they go along and have the ratings to know they aren't going to get cancelled mid-season. Throw in Lost and Battlestart Galactica, and it is nice to have some good stories on TV again. Got tired of the non-stop reality crap.

With you on that - was a big Survivor/Apprentice fan - stopped watching a year ago and haven't looked back!

Hiro and his friend are great characters. Hopefully they get to New York before the end of the show and show up with the comic book. Quarterback is going to feel some pain from Claire I hope.

NBC is keeping the black man down by making the baddest character Sylar. Hot diggity damn Claire was messed up. Who pulled the stick out of her head... was she where her father was with the mind reading guy? I dont think so because she was seen driving and possibly killing the quarterback.

Hiro is a great guy. Some separation of good/evil is starting to form. Claire could be a bad person with the scenes from next week... :o :o

Anyone notice that Chandra Suresh (the dead father) is Erick Avari. He is not an unknown actor and you don't use semi-celebs to pose for a picture on the back of a book cover. He's going to play a role somehow which means he's not dead or Hiro goes back in time to visit him.

Best show on TV. Everything is evolving so slowly... love the suspense! The only plot line that's some what clear is Hiro's. I'm completely in the dark on Clair, The Petrelli brothers, Parkman (the cop), and Ali. Nobody could tell me with any degree of certainty what will happen to them... all we could do is speculate. Cliff hangers upon cliff hangers. How do you have multiple cliff hangers within the same episode.

Isaac sees Simone and Peter kissing, Clair's chest is ripped open, Ali is "taken", Parkman is captured... HOLY COW I'M JACKED!!

The ending was pretty sweet. Claire on the table waking up "Holy S##t!" Get it... she had a hole in her... :lmao: The guy who posted the spoiler about Claire's scene seems to be a good source but unlike LOST I find it easier to not read spoilers about this show than it is about LOST. NBC has a winner here. Hopefully they dont cancel it now.

I havent gotten to read the whole thread yet but I plan to cuz I love this show.

I just wanted to point out that the girl who plays the cheerleader was also the little girl in Remember the Titans.

I actually live in NY and worked in TV for 4 years. My friend who came up with me now works in Research for NBC. According to him the Network ratings are good but local ratings in some of the major markets are marginal. They will have patience with the show b/c they realize it's going up against MNF.This show is a lot easier to follow than LOST. LOST has to spend a lot of air time dedicated to flash backs which detracts from the momentum of the story

I can agree about LOST and following it. I think what made LOST popular they are starting to get away from. Sure, the Internet is a good medium to use and all but they need to bring more to the tv instead of looking for other mediums to expand the show. Dont think it is you but there has been discussion about commercials and everything and how a 30 minute show is really 22 minutes and a 60 minute show is 44. I know the torrents are edited a little bit but they normally come in at 42 minutes for LOST... a minute does not seem like much but fill that time with show and not ads. Why NBC has this show on Monday night seems crazy to me. Yeah, MNF is not on network tv anymore but many people, I think the wide majority do have cable and are probably tuned into something else if not football. Im not saying put this show up against LOST but a Thursday airing by removing the stupid Deal or No Deal seems legit to me. If ER was not on the air that would be a great spot to put it.

I can give you a detailed explination but I'm tired and don't have much left. Your programming and scheduling issues are justifiable which is why NBC is in the state it's in. Networks are cyclical. NBC was on top for most of the 90's and ABC was in the TANK. Now ABC is on top. NBC is hoping Friday Night Lights and Heroes take off. They need it bad. Too put it another way... NBC has the smallest sales staff out of all the major networks.

When you have time PM me or write it here whatever you have to say but cant right now. I am interested to hear it.I think I am going to email NBC and see what kind of reply I get. Something along the lines of "Do not cancel Heroes." We must start early to show that it is getting some play.

BTW - When Claire was hit by that football player and her neck snapped around :X Not fun to look at.
Without spoiling anything, be prepared to be much more thoroughly grossed out by Claire next week.
WTF, go ahead and spoil us ;) Just be sure to put in "hidden"
Okay. Keep in mind, this is from a new spoiler source for me, so I can't say its valid:
Claire gets raped by the highschool qb, and her head is smashed in during it. At the end of the episode she wakes up and she's been autopsied. She starts picking up her organs and putting them back in herself.
That doesn't seem possible considering her abilities. She'd heal up to quick to perform it.
 Maybe she has to be concious to heal? People keep thinking that she is exactly like Wolverine, but we don't know that at all. If the spoiler is accurate, we'll be seeing that her power is somewhat different.
Would have thought that one of the six falls she took would have knocked her unconscious... or the hit by the football player.Doesn't feel right to me, have to wait and see.
I was wrong, I will not read spoilers anymore.Great episode by the way!

Love Hiro. The part in the plane about riding in coach was great, he shows his buddy the comic with them sitting in coach and the lady sleeping on his shoulder.

Car rental was pretty funny too. He's my favorite character.

Dont know what you were wrong about but just reading the last couple quotes it appears she needs to be conscious to heal. She was either severly injured thus inhibiting her mind to work at all, otherwise she would have woken up, or was knocked unconscious, or both. But she was cut up pretty good before having the stick taken out of her brain/mind/unconscious.I wonder who pulled the stick out?

Everyone that doubted the spoiler (myself included) was wrong. I didn't think they'd show something like that, but props to NBC for pulling no punches. I think that Claire's body couldn't heal itself with a foreign object in it. But once the stick was removed, her body's tissue was able to remerge with itself.Another question would be, why would they need to cut her open if they thought she died from a single wound?

I dont think the nurse guy has any powers at all. We have not seen his picture up on any map like his brothers. I think the only brother who has powers is the guy running for office and maybe that is why their dad had depression... he did not have powers while others around him did... the nurse guy is a Squib (Harry Potter reference).
He did a good job walking on air in Ep2
That was because of his brother though... that is what I think.

As well as drawing that that would happen with stick figures.Did anyone else get the feeling that the artist realized he could still draw the future without the drugs? Just on a smaller scale (the notebook rather than canvas)?

This is a mystery girl... she is Claire's classmate and when Claire leaves with the QB to go make out this girl is seen walking towards her. It was like she knew something was going to happen. I dont think we have seen her before either so who knows.
I thought that was the girl that told the QB that CLaire was looking for her birth parents. I think we saw her in the first episode. Didn't we?And why is Claire friends with that guy that was videoing her, but she won't talk to him in school. I thought that was odd.

I stopped reading the thread once all the spoilers and theories started popping up (can't you people just watch?) but wanted to throw out an observation...the show came back from a commercial break at the 47 minute mark and went to another commercial at 51:30 for four minutes.

I'll never go without a DVR as long as I live.

That is all.

Did you see the trailers for the next eprisode? He seems to have a moment where everythign around him is frozen. Maybe he meets Hiro and takes some of his power? I am leaning toward the Rogue power thing. I wonder if that means he has to kill someone to completely take their power.

I thought they were implying that she was worried for Claire. my assumption was the QB had raped her and she was worried it would happen again. Maybe they will reveal that she is the one to find Claire's body after going to look for her.

On 9th wonders there is a blog being kept by the director of last nights episode. He mentions that whole bonfire scene was a pain to shoot, tracking the 2 priciples of the scene while on the move, plus a "special" character. I'm guessing that girl is what he was talking about. We'll definitely see more of her in the future.
