This show just keeps getting better and better. It's doing a very nice job of pacing the character and power development, enough to keep you interested and sucked in but not going over the top. I was thinking the neighbour chick was Sylar as well like a previous poster said. The voice on the tape sounded male but also sounded like it could've been done with a voice mask, it had that kind of hollow tone to it. She knew the professer well, as Sylar is implied to have, and is quite interested in Mohinder and him carrying on his father's work (potential finding her more victims?). Though if we see her in a scene with HRG and Blankman next week that pretty much shoots that theory down (the DL I had didn't include the previews). I like the charactor of Michael alot. He's selfish, egotistical and conflicted. He's got this awesome power of flight that he obviously loves ("I'm thinking of flying over the desert") but doesn't fit in with his world, life, anything he really seems to want. He went from total gaga over single mom to distaste in like a split second when he found out she messed with him. He played hardball and didn't back down from both HRG and Blankman and the mob guy. I'm really interested to see how he develops as the series goes on. Hiro is awesome as well. His childlike nature and obvious delight in his powers lighten what could be a really dark show. His contrast with Michael was aweosme in this episode. I'm interested to see if he starts to work on his teleporting power since he hasn't used that since he left Japan. All in all, the first couple episodes didn't sell me but I'm thoroughly hooked now.

Sean Bean- will appear in (at least?) the next 2 episodes

I think Sylar is only going to be around in year one. I am interested in the characters right now and not the conflict that will culminate the year.
 
Definitely a great show. I love the character development. It reminds me of Lost and the all the back stories, not that Heroes uses the same method, but I like really understanding a lot more about the characters, not just action.

By the way, I checked out the first graphic novel and it was very apparent that Sylar killed Mohinder's dad. It shows the mangled cab, which to me looks more like the agent/police officer guarding the little girl with a chair through him into the wall. If it was Claire's dad, it would have been a gun shot/fake robbery.

Also, I am very much in the camp that Claire's dad is trying to understand where all these people are in their development and knows a lot more about them and how to either trace the genetic traits or how they were created. I might not have been the first that posted it, ;) , but it was pretty obvious when Claire's dad didn't kill Mohinder or even chase after him and also the guy bugging Mohinder's dad's apartment didn't shoot Mohinder either. Both of them had ample opportunity to kill him, Matt, Nikki and Nathan.

It would shock me if he is a "good guy," but he is definitely not an associate of Sylar.

 
I've got a question - Who is this Sylar person you're all talking about? I've seen all the shows, but some I haven't seen all the way through. I'm having trouble understanding the Sylar character. Who is he and what does he have to do with removing brains?!? :shrug:

No.DL is played by Leonard Roberts and has a phasing ability.Hollowing guy is played by Jimmy Jean-Louis and apparently is able to erase memories.

I wonder what power Micah (Niki's son) will have?

LINK Micah is confirmed to have a power, though it is currently unrevealed. Tim Kring would only comment that it is different from those of both his parents.

His father D.L. also has a power of phasing - Ability to alter the density of objects or possibly even one's self. Typically manifested in two primary forms - intangibility (low density) and invulnerability (high density). I wonder if we'll see that in tonight's episode?

In the previews for tonight's episode. It looks like DL gets manhandled by someone, I'm guessing Niki.

But in the promos from the marathon 2 weeks ago, we saw Niki in bed with DL.

I guess they had a fight then followed up with the make-up sexy time and liquid explosion... :eek:

Plus something has to scar Peter's face. Remember when Hiro meets up with Peter in the Subway and says he almost didn't recognize him w/o the scars??? :popcorn: Perhaps it happens trying to save Isaac (artist guy)? I thought I remember reading somewhere that Isaac may be killed. It doesn't say that, but it leads us to believe there's an attempt.
 
I'm guessing that Peter needs to save the cheerleader so he can temporarily get her powers, and that he gets scarred from injuries that happen (burns?) as the power fades.

 
Why is the fact that Claire had a cough as a baby such a huge revelation. Shows that she wasn't born with her ability? Not sure why that would be very important.

 
D.L. just knocked her out by twisting up her insides. I love this show. I also think that Micah will showcase his powers next week.

That wasnt the revelation. The revelation was that her parents knew she had some kind of chromosome difference in her and previously searched for her real parents. She knows somethings fishy.
 
side note - took me forever to figure out DL was from drumline :)

ANyway when the alternate Nikki said she killed the guys at the poker game.

Was that the poker game the japanese guys were at?

If so when/how did she show up?

Is Niki actually evil and DL good?

Sylar is that superhuman "person" the cop shot correct?

Sylar is the serial killer that is cutting peoples lids off and stealing their brains. Also same guy who the cop shot.

Present-day Hiro is a ##### with a chick voice, no English, and doesn't know how to best use his powers. Future Hiro is a badass with a sword, and speaks perfect English. Good Nikki could learn. :shrug:

1. The girl who saved Mohinder from the plumber could be an agent working with Claire's dad. They couldn't figure out the research, so she was planted as the friendly neighbor who conveniently finds the hard drive to see if he can figure it out for them.

2. Niki's son will end up being a vital character, much like Walt in Lost. I believe he has a talent as well, that is somehow tied to his IQ/being able to build a motherboard for his computer.

3. As much as I like the show so far, I serioulsy hope the take it in a direction as far away as possible from X-Men, Lost and 4400. Right now there are so many similarities it almost feels like plagarism.

DL even made a comment to Nikki when they woke up in bed together how Nikki didn't get as much sleep. That she was trying to be all quiet getting out of bed so as not to wake him up. That would be the time that she would've left the house and went to kill everyone at the poker game that Hiro and Ando were at.
