The vaguely worded messages didn’t mention the “CIA,” “drones” or details about the militant targets, officials said.

State Department officials told FBI investigators they communicated via the less-secure system on a few instances, according to congressional and law-enforcement officials. It happened when decisions about imminent strikes had to be relayed fast and the U.S. diplomats in Pakistan or Washington didn’t have ready access to a more-secure system, either because it was night or they were traveling.

Emails sent over the low side sometimes were informal discussions that occurred in addition to more-formal notifications through secure communications, the officials said.

One such exchange came just before Christmas in 2011, when the U.S. ambassador sent a short, cryptic note to his boss indicating a drone strike was planned. That sparked a back-and-forth among Mrs. Clinton’s senior advisers over the next few days, in which it was clear they were having the discussions in part because people were away from their offices for the holiday and didn’t have access to a classified computer, officials said.

Is it just me, or is "Delete your account" just unfunny in every way?  Seems right up there with "You're a doo-doo head", but not quite as witty.

It seems to be epic to several (a turning point even).  Seems like two middle school children to me :shrug:   This is going to be embarrassingly entertaining, BUT at least we get the "act Presidential" shtick out of the way early.

Yeah, the drone email issue registers a mild concern for me, but in isolation not a major issue.  It is the systematic pattern of abuse here, including absolutely "top secret" information being exchanged in an insecure manner--not withstanding the intent, secrecy, and lies that followed the private server's creation--that is what troubles me and I suspect is troubling the FBI right now.

I don't think this ends well.

I think Josh Earnest referring to this as a 'criminal investigation' is enough of a takeaway for me.

If you think it's about other culprits than Hillary, ok by me....

Hillary Clinton has been endorsed today by: Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren and Martin O'Malley.

I'm saying that if the information needed to be sent through secure channels, the issue has nothing to do with Clinton's server.  The information would have already been sent over an unsecure server.

I love how the presumed Democratic nominee is under criminal investigation by the FBI and everybody is like 'no problem'.

 IC agent named on her server? Not a problem.

Specific drone strikes? No problem.

Top Secret & above? No problem.

Not authorized? No problem.

Not cooperating? No problem.

People were told to shut up? No problem.

SBU markings? Not a problem.

Destroyed all the metadata? No problem.

Said there was nothing on the server then server seized? No problem.

What exactly is the problem?

This is going to be a big takeaway, regardless of whether or not Hillary gets clipped by this investigation.  It's clear that State and other agencies do not have an adequate system of communication.

That does not in any way, however, justify Hillary's behavior in the slightest. And, let's all agree to dispense with the false pretense that the FBI is conducting a "security review."  This is a criminal investigation.  Hillary may not be guilty of committing any crimes in the end, but the FBI is most certainly condipucting a criminal investigation into possible criminal behavior she may or may not have been engaged in.

It's not a good look at all.  And the fact that Hillary has had to keep moving the goal posts, as opposed to being straight forward from the beginning--and then not cooperating with OIG investigation for reasons that make no sense- -makes all of this even more concerning.

"whip smart" is the exact term Obama used the other day.  It's like you hear it on tv and it immediately becomes part of your vernacular.

Yep, I got it from him. It's a good phrase, I like it. It's very accurate with regard to her. Did you watch her testimony before Congress? Never seen anyone quite that knowledgeable about so many subjects.

How come she didn't know giving speeches to wall street between the recession and running this time around may be a bad idea?  How come she didn't realize using an unsecured personal server while Secretary of State may not be the best plan?  If she's the best we got we're all doomed.

In the end, neither of these issues will prevent her from being elected President.

Why? Why should giving a legal speech to Goldman Sachs, and using a private email server, disqualify Hillary Clinton from the Presidency. I can understand if you don't agree with her on issues, or if you believe that she is overall a corrupt awful person (without real evidence I might add), but why should THESE two specific issues make it really "####### sad" that she will be our President?
