First I want to thank you for motivating me into becoming politically active. I was a uninformed a political person but the nastiness of the left representatives on this board towards their fellow americans was utterly disgusting. If it wasn't for your condescending arrogant insulting put downs of americans I would not have voted at all since I had not voted since Bush Sr. , or more importantly become a Trump volunteer and gotten hundreds of people to the booths for Trump. You are absolutely correct that it is better for "you" that the less people voting it better. Because the deplorable, irredeemable un americans are the ones who were not voting.

The mocking derision, blatant corruption, intellectual put downs, racial and cultural insults hand delivered you a big Trump right between the cheeks.

It was a pleasure cancelling your and hundreds of Clinton votes in a swing state. You tim, caused this, you.

I know you won't get it but in 4 year maybe you democrats can try a different slogan because "Let them eat cake" has historically been a loser.
Shame is that Tim isn't really even a ####### democrat and he helped cause this.

Not in whole, but certainly in part in states like NC...
I know it's real. But there is genuine apathy and occasionally disgust. I speak from a city which is minority run with relatively few bars to voting and the apathy has existed across generation and race. People by and large are disinterested. It often leads to some really crummy public officials getting elected, from judge to governor.

@Loan Sharks:  Despite our political difference, I am really glad that you decided to get active and engaged.

I very much get where you are coming from on how the left/media have treated Trump supporters.  I have purposefully avoided Trump threads for that very reason.  I know plenty of people in real life who supported Trump.  Some are actually racist and bigoted, others are not.  Same as any population really.  All I can do is talk to people about why minorities and women pick up on Trump and his supporters statements the way they do.  That is something easier to do in person than on the internet.  I would encourage both Trump and his supporters to consider the language they have used and find ways to advocate their policies without racist undertones or comments that scare minorities, women, or the LGBT community.  Because there are scared people out there today after what they have heard, particularly ones that are a combo of those groups. It isn't fair for your side to dismiss their fear just like it hasn't been fair that the Democrats/media have been dismissive of fear white males have had after 40 years of stagnant wages/lost job opportunities. :2cents:

Trump will be a helpful president for the lgbt community . Blame the rhetoric of the democrats for scaring people

What I don't understand that if blue collar workers, impacted negatively by the global economy, voted for Trump to help improve their economic situation ...

How is this any different than when those same supporters chastise individuals for relying on the government to provide them with benefits such as healthcare?

I see no difference between the two ... Both groups are wanting the government to improve their lives. But, the one complaining about it, doesn't see the similarities and refuses to actually take their destiny in their own hands by improving their marketability.

No, he will not. Trump campaigned against SS marriage. His support for the LGBT community is a fallacy. And, his VP believes in conversion therapy. That rhetoric of protecting us from terrorists is simply just that. ... pure rhetoric.

Yeah, this is a great example of why I avoid trying to have honest discussions about Trump with his supports on here.  Everything he has said and proposed to date is the opposite of the bold.

Technically true.  Clinton's involvement with underage girls was not known until long after he was out of office.
So why exactly are you not moving on from Clinton? It's time we get together, and focus on our president elect, Donald J Trump.

Yeah, this is a great example of why I avoid trying to have honest discussions about Trump with his supports on here.  Everything he has said and proposed to date is the opposite of the bold.
Does anyone believes anything he said?  At this point, there is not much Trump can do about it.

Good post.  I think a National Holiday would inspire greater turnout than early voting has.
I'm not against it but honestly how many people didn't vote because they had to work?   jobs are required by law to give you time to vote.. my guess is that people who didn't vote did so for other reasons (mostly disinterest)

I missed Trump supporter rampaging in the streets and threatening casualties on the Democrat side live on CNN pre-election.

:link:
There are literally thousands of videos from Trump rallies on YouTube with people threatening violence towards Clinton/Democrats. This was well covered and commented on.

I hate Trump as much as anybody and think what's happening is a national disgrace, but there's a reason that story was kept at arms length by the media.
I think this should obviously be investigated further. Along with the other sexual assault claims....

When you have someone who openly brags about sexual assault, that's a big issue of character.

Why does it bother you (or doesn't bother you) that he is accused of child rape?
Trump is a scumbag who I did not vote for.  But some lawsuit filed means nothing, so you look a bit foolish holding that up as proof of anything.  I kind of doubt trump would stoop that low, but it would not be completely shocking to me either.

Honestly don't know what to expect, that is part of the fear people have.  If Trump and the GOP establishment work together, they could really accomplish a lot.  I hope he focuses on trade where he has much less common ground with establishment...

The guy has a history of sexual assault claims against him. And, has openly bragged about sexual assault. Why not further investigate this claim vs dismissing it?

You'll notice that Trump is probably the most pro SS/Medicare president the GOP has nominated in a long ### time, maybe ever.

59.8M for Hillary and 59.6M for Trump.

But yeah, pretty embarrassing considering other 1st world countries routinely get over 90% voter turnout.

Of course they also do simple things like make election day a national holiday, which they should do here IMO. It only happens once every 4 years, we should be doing what we can to let everyone who wants to vote do so.
Yeah but let's not model it after Mexico where they ban alcohol sales on those days as I sadly found out while on vacation in Cancun once and decided to venture away from the hotel :(

Totally agree, but that story has a lot of red flags. Pretty similar to the "Obama had sex with a gay prostitute" stuff in 2008. It's not a bar I think we want to drop below to set precedents for going forward.

When there is credible evidence.  Just a fishing trip at this point.  I can file a lawsuit claiming you defrauded me of a billion dollars.  Should we waste time investing that?

That's all I'm asking ... Let's treat this president with the same grace and decency that we supported our past presidents. And investigate when we see fit. This IMO, is one of those times.

Sexual assault is a serious issue and should be taken at face value and investigated especially when the individual has a past of assaulting women.

No. But I do have prove that a lawsuit for child rape was filed against Trump.
It was dismissed.

I personally do think character is relevant to our public officials, but it's funny how quickly such issues can come back into vogue depending on who is being discussed.

If you really believe that every claim regardless of whether there is any credibility to it needs to be investigated, I am not going to change your opinion.  I happen to believe there needs to be a level of credibility to it.  We will have to disagree here.

What I am saying is there is a claim, and given Trump's history and character, a claim should be investigated for validity.

ETA: But no worries here, she dropped the lawsuit (it wasn't dismissed). Money talks.
