Robinson and Hurns: The Jaguars dominant duo

The Jacksonville Jaguars have plenty to pick at right now. The 1-4 squad is inconsistent as a group, makes mental errors by the dozens and seemingly can't experience victory as much as they'd like to "believe" in it.
However, while fans are up in arms about the coaching staff, a nationally-unassuming duo is making historic strides (and fantasy football owners happy). The under-the-radar twosome of Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns is currently lighting the NFL on fire from a statistical perspective. With a combined 49 catches for 832 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, "The Allens" are second in the league in receptions and receiving yards as a duo, while also being among the league's leaders in total receiving duo touchdowns at seven.
The two are both pals on the field and basically inseparable in the locker room. Robinson, the 11th wide receiver taken in last year's draft, has overcome injuries early in his career to become a legit No. 1 receiver. He is only 22-years-old, but is tied for third in the league in touchdown receptions (4) with the likes of Julio Jones and Randall Cobb through five games. Robinson is also averaging an electric 18.3 yards per catch (which ranks third in the NFL for players with at least 20 catches).
Robinson's co-pilot at wide receiver is Allen Hurns, an undrafted pass catcher out of Miami, who is currently beating their draft class with 430 receiving yards this season. Hurns has gone from draft afterthought to a player that has as many receptions and more receiving yards and touchdowns than the three players taken before Robinson in the second round of the draft. Hurns has collected 78 total catches, 1107 total yards and nine total touchdowns through Week 5 of his second NFL season. In that same time, Cody Latimer, Paul Richardson and Davante Adams have combined for 78 receptions for 740 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
While a lot is made of Odell Beckham Jr. and Jordan Matthews in the NFC East, Hurns has more yards and as many touchdowns as the former and more yardage and scores than the latter.
Hurns and Robinson are both on pace to far-exceed 1,000 receiving yards, after the Jaguars have gone without just one of those seasons in over a decade.
Perhaps, the most encouraging numbers (stats aside) are 22 and 23. Those two numbers are Robinson and Hurns' ages. They may not have reached their peak yet and if Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles continues to progress along with rookie running back T.J. Yeldon, the Jaguars could have a successful offensive nucleus for the next decade and that's not even including big money signing Julius Thomas.
