Is this 'right click' capability available with the standard fire tv remote?Ive been using Trakt for a while to keep a watchlist of shows, but its buggy to say the least. I recently started right clicking a show, clicking "add to favorites" and then clicking the star in the bottom left of the Kodi home screen...you can even add "search" to favorites and have a search a click away from the home screen. MUCH better than using Trakt, IMO.
I’m not sure what Trakt is supposed to do but I what is does for me is saves me the headache of listening to my wife complain that she can’t find the shows she likes and she doesn’t know how to search in Kodi.Agreed. I'm not entirely sure what Trakt does. Not sure if it plays any role in solving this, but the one thing that's sorely missing from exodus or kodi in general is to give you a history of what you've watched so that you can see what you watched last and either continue where you left off or move on to the next episode. That would be very useful whenever I leave exodus and watch something on smoothstream and then come back.
I've used it for that, but that seems to be redundant to what the "add to favorites" option does within kodi. I use the kore kodi phone app as a remote so that's how I get to that feature.I’m not sure what Trakt is supposed to do but I what is does for me is saves me the headache of listening to my wife complain that she can’t find the shows she likes and she doesn’t know how to search in Kodi.

I was looking through this thread and it's what gave me pause and the prompt to ask here. Seems kind of hit or miss, not specific to any particular AVR brand, Fire or Fire Stick, inputs, etc.According to this thread yes.

Yes, it's actually the menu button to the right of the home buttonIs this 'right click' capability available with the standard fire tv remote?
Trakt does more than the generic favorites...it will keep track of episodes you've watched. When you go to a season of a show, there will be a check mark next to episodes youve watched, and you can also use the progress option and it will list all the last episodes of your watchlist shows you've watched. Click one and it takes you to the next episode.I've used it for that, but that seems to be redundant to what the "add to favorites" option does within kodi. I do get the "check marks" next to each episode so maybe that part of trakt is useful.Trakt does more than the generic favorites...it will keep track of episodes you've watched. It's been buggy for me lately, with shows disappearing from my watchlist but still in my list on the website...so I have to keep using search to find those shows that disappear. Annoying AF.
Yes, that's the proper way to do it with a sound system. Will the Fire Stick work with HDMI through a AV receiver ? Running Kodi now directly to the TV with the HDMI adapter and was going to buy an AV receiver to kind of piece together a home theatre
Tony, I may have a very technical question that maybe you can help me with. I'm in the process of updating my HTPC. I want to keep windows 7 because of Media center, and I got one of these new super fast m.2 hard drives to install it on. Apparently you can't do that (windows 7 doesn't know what an m.2 drive is) - so you have to embed the drivers for it, as well as usb 3.0 drivers, into the windows 7 install. I have no idea how to do that. Any ideas, or just scrap the m.2 drive and install it on a ssd and call it a day?ETA: I have a HTPC in my system instead of a fire, but, everything goes into the receiver (except the xbox) and then the receiver passes through the xbox before it finally gets to the tv. Xbox turns everything on at once.
I don't have any experience with the M.2. Does Windows 8.1 know what a M.2 is because WMC didn't get phased out until Windows 10? Just googling around you'd have to try something like this and it has to be done with a bootable USB, not from the windows disc. Otherwise yeah, I'd just go with a SSD. Okay I have kodi 16.1 installed.... now what?OKay trying to do this but I have OSX 10.6.8 and ADBLINK for Mac is 10.7 or greater.....
Any other way to push kodi to my FireTV? Any way to install direct from FireTV without a computer?
EDIT: Trying this method:

I only use exodus for movies and tv shows and smoothstreams for sports. Not sure if either are installed by default.Okay I have a thousand add ons now...
Any tips on which are the best add ons for stuff?
If you choose any of the 40 popular shows or movies that populate in the panes above the horizontal scroll bar they will open in Exodus. Otherwise scroll the horizontal scroll bar to movies or tv shows then go down to exodus which is 3rd or 4th on the horizontal list just below the scrollbar. Once that opens I usually choose "People watching" to randomly find a movie/tv show or go all the way to the bottom to find "search". Type in whatever you're looking for. Note it doesn't spell check so you have to get it just right and if you have an apostrophe or dash in the title you might have to try a couple different combinations to find it.Okay I have a thousand add ons now...

P.S. We're going to have to find an alternative to WMC someday.
WTF are you using WMC? So many better alternatives to it, I use JRiver Media Center but there are others out there including Kodi and Plex.Tony, I may have a very technical question that maybe you can help me with. One add-on that's important to me, but not many others, is USTVNow. It's intended for overseas military, and you have to sign up for it. It's basically all the networks, plus a couple more channels. I can't get antenna reception at my house, so this is ideal for me. It's also more legal and reliable than the other streams if you just want to watch national sports. I'm not a picky sports-watcher, so I'll just watch whatever NFL game is on rather than having to see all Colts games or something.[icon] said:Okay I have a thousand add ons now...

Most don't, but some do. It can be useful to buy Sunday Ticket, and it can hide your streaming, but as tonydead always says, nobody has ever been nailed for streaming. It's possibly legal - if not, it's at least ignored.Do you guys use a VPN?
Does it import a tv guide including the locals for your area?WTF are you using WMC? So many better alternatives to it, I use JRiver Media Center but there are others out there including Kodi and Plex.
I don't use it, only movies on mine, but it appears it does.Does it import a tv guide including the locals for your area?
Interesting, would it choke on 500GB of music files like WMC does?I don't use it, only movies on mine, but it appears it does.
Not sure on how many files it is but it doesn't choke on 6TB (only ~250 movies) of movies from a NAS.Interesting, would it choke on 500GB of music files like WMC does?
Yeah but I think it's the number of files it has to catalog. Will try it out some time. Not sure on how many files it is but it doesn't choke on 6TB (only ~250 movies) of movies from a NAS.
So: my bar reads pictures / videos / music / programs / system.Main Menu, go all the way to the right to "change profile". That's where you change from regular Titanium to adult Titanium. The default password will be one of these 3: 1111, 0000, or 1234.
Have you tried ProSports? So know some have registered and payed for sports services. But for those who haven't curios what add on/stream people are using forthe nfl playoff games? Sports devil? Other?
If you add a new profile, you get the goods for Titanium (although you can add these to your default profile as well). I didn't use a code or anything. Here is a screenshot (iPhone). Unless I am missing something. So: my bar reads pictures / videos / music / programs / system.
Under system > profiles I have login (disabled) and "profiles". My two options under profiles is "master user" and "add profile"
What am I missing? :(
Doesn't sound like you have titanium installed, I thought you said that you did. Should have much more on the scroll bar.So: my bar reads pictures / videos / music / programs / system.

Should do something, even if it times out or doesn't find a stream. Firesticks are slow give it a couple minutes. Otherwise it might be weak WiFi. If it blinks and just goes back to the previous that means the stream is bad not working.Okay sometimes I click on something (example sportsdevil>ESPN right now) it says "working" in corner then does nothing?
This is a Fire TV box... not sure what's up but it's getting annoying. Had to **** around for a long time sunday to watch the 4th episode of a popular show that we had no issues with the first 3. Hoping this isn't an issue tonight .Should do something, even if it times out or doesn't find a stream. Firesticks are slow give it a couple minutes. Otherwise it might be weak WiFi. Is there an easy/convenient place to stream ESPN for tonight's game?
For most people it's not been a problem, for you however...i got a firestick from a client. he said to jailbreak it and put kodi onto it. does this work? is it hard to do? i am both lazy and ignorant. tia
probably won't answer yours.
No such thing as jailbreaking a fire stick. Just install Kodi onto it. Several posts in this thread with various ways you can do it. Takes about 15 minutes or so. You can use a computer or do it wirelessly from your phone (easiest way, IMO).
