Yup. That's me today. The frustration lies in the illusion of options and the twinkle of hope you get when it works perfectly for an hour or two.
I don't know how long it's been since I cut the cord, but I'm more than content with Netflix, Prime, and
Sports Access SE. You know what I pay for the first two, and I know many of you are all about free, but I'm coming up on my year's subscription with Sports Access SE and thought this would interest some.
Last Black Friday they wanted $95 of bitcoin for a year. Normal price is around $12 a month. So being frustrated with NBA League Pass ($300) blacking out both the Lakers and Clippers for me, I signed up. You'll read lots of negatives about the service if you look for reviews. They've had two really bad runs of downtime (almost a week both times). They've had half dozen other not so bad runs of issues. The most recent bad down time coincided with a major UFC pay per view AND the NFL opener. Oof. The other one also involved a major UFC PPV. I'd be fine if they didn't stream them. But the rest of the PPVs ( a half dozen or so) have been perfect 720p streams. NBA has better streams than League Pass last year, and I got my home teams. I consider that a $200 savings. Baseball, soccer motorsports, etc etc., it's more sports than I... just tons. I have Redzone on HD on my 70", Cowboys Packers HD on my laptop right now. You're allowed three devices or three streams at a time. It also works on my phone wherever I go. Customer service has been contacted three times and each time the response was satisfactory. I'm not a big whiner though. They told me not to bother with a VPN because the streams are private, so far no issues. They also suggest going straight from my browser, no Kodi, though most use Kodi without issue. You can test it for a day, a month or 3 months, price goes down as term goes up. The Twitter is
@NoBuffZone, and there has been virtually NO BUFFERING. I would pay twice as much and will not hesitate to re-up on Black Friday with or without the annual deal. I know it ain't free guys but because SPORTS.
Also there's a Roku channel.
I also use the
FreeTelly app for Kodi via TVAddons. It hasn't been great, but it has been fine for how little I use it. It is a Kodi installation with Exodus Salts and as couple more scrapers pre-installed. I'm also using Real-Debrid and these small costs make this all worthwhile. I could dump Netflix and never miss it, but I don't mind supporting that company.
