FWIW, I hate the new format. So the living in the house schtick was stupid, but I did like the challenges they had to do...going to a Bed Bath and Beyond store and having to make up Carrot-Top-esque prop humor was funny. Making kindergartners laugh was good stuff. This new format is kinda dull and I'm willing to bet none of these comics have enough material to not repeat through the finals.

Is this the first year of this format, or have they been doing it this way the last couple/few years? I haven't watched this show much at all the last handful of seasons... and ejoyed it more when they were in the house and challenging each other to battles on stage. And I generally agree with the consensus:Myq, Tommy and Roy are the front runners (in some order).I still can't believe Jonathan has lasted so long. He's had a couple of very funny moments, but should have been eliminated long ago, imo.

Not sure if this is the first season in this format or not, but I hope Giraldo and Craig Robinson get to do a set at some point

Even tho Rachel has been we-ee-eak since qualifying, it's truly a shame that we're estrogen-free the rest of the way. DeStefano is the one i wanted least coming in (there should be an age cap like on AI & I think he's had a special and the thing ive always hated the most about LCS is when they allow comics whove gone that far on), but he is just killin em lately. RWJr has done the best overall but he severely underwrote a coupla last night's jokes & missed some huuuuge laughs.

Not as sure about the others, but Johnagin and Wood are seasoned pros and have a ton of material.

Well, if they vote the winner based on tonight's performance only, MyQ likely wins this thing. Damn good set from him tonight, but I still think Tommy or Roy are better overall.

Last night I thought:

1. Roy Wood Jr

2. Tommy Johnagin

3. Myq Kaplan

4. Felipe Esparza

5. Mike Destefano.

I think Wood has been slightly better the last few weeks than Johnagin, but Johnagin winning wouldnt surprise me. If 1 of those 2 dont though, its a crime, unless something changes drastically. IMO they have been solid the entire time, but really separated themselves as a cut above the last 3 weeks. Kaplan was funny as usual, but the guy uses almost the exact same jokes every week - use a couple spinoffs of other peoples jokes, a gay joke, a sex joke, and then something else. Im surprised his shtick hasnt wore off yet, and I dont find him any better than average. That said, the calling manholes being sexist and calling them "street ######s" joke instead killed me

I think Kaplan and Felipe have been good the whole time, but never got better like Wood and Johnagin did. And opposed to that, I thought Destefano started off great the first few weeks, but he has tailed off to the point where if Thymius wasnt the other guy yesterday, he probably wouldnt be in the Top 5.

By the way they were making it seem last night, that was the final episode, but it looks like there are 2 more episodes and 1 mroe chance to vote.

What a f*ing joke. I think I am done with this show if they are gonna let him win over Tommy or Roy.

Haven't scoured the web, but I remember years ago there was a push for I think American Idol to keep pushing through a crappy singer on purpose. I wonder if the same thing didn't happen here. I wonder if some how a ton of people didn't purposely vote for him to win just to mock the process.

Esparza's advance has startled me each wk from the beginning. Passable (though limited) ideas, terrible writing & the laziest delivery i've seen on mass media for a while. Not Dat Phan bad, but easily the worst winner since then.

what a joke of a show (no pun intended)

Esparza to me was easily the least funny of the 10 not including that old dude who was horrible.

Like the others said Johnigan or Woods were head and shoulders better then Felipe but somehow he kept getting the crappy judges love (PS Its not fair the judges can judge comedians who they have done shows with since clearly Felipe has been around and Geraldo has a bias for him)

The chick was a good judge but thay Kindler guy was so bad. Like that kid in high school who tried so damn hard to be the class clown but was just corny all the time. Not sure how he got this far in his comedy life since his set in the finale was about as funny as Saving Private Ryan

 While he had some good jokes here and there, he wasn't anywhere near the best comic. There were a bunch that didn't make the top 10 that I liked way better. This was easily the worst season I can remember. A couple good people in the top 10, but just a boring show. Having the professionals and having the judges/producers decide the top 10 was just silly. No point in even having open auditions. Then, to have America vote on the final 5 is even more of a joke. When you are at that number (see American Idol) you always have bad votes because some of the favorites don't get votes because people think they are safe and as bryhamm posted, easy to have web site vote for the worst voters impact a vote when you have 5 people splitting the votes. This will either be the last season or I hope they change it dramatically. Why not just pick a series of professionals and also have open auditions for more non-pros/unknown folks. Then whittle that down and get back to the house/challenges/etc. that were far better TV. There is a whole network if people just want to see normal routines every night. Some of the improv/challenges in the past have been hysterical.

Did Felipe win?

I agree with the rest of you. He had his moments, but probably was the 8th-10th best comedian this season.

I think a case could be made for Tommy, Roy or Myq... those three were the funniest, imo.

Myq getting the least votes of the 5, and Felipe getting the most is ridiculous. Still cant believe he won over RWJr or Johnagin. I guess the one positive out of all of this is that if you go see the LCS stand up tour, you get all 5 so youre seeing them regardless. Ill probably go if it comes to Pittsburgh just for Wood and Johnagin.

Also, I was really hoping Giraldo would get to do a set before it was said and done. His set was the best part of last nights show :lmao:

His set was ok Papa killed though.

I thought he was good too, but to each his own.

2014 Version

Just watched the 2 hour opener. Lots of good stuff on tonight.

Jimmy Shubert is such a pro and hilarious - would love to see him win this ...but it seems like the seasoned guys aren't allowed to win.

Anybody watching this season? Norm McDonald's hands are so tiny (and he's a hands talker), it's distracting.

I'm watching. Lots of quirky acts this year, which I like but not sure if they can keep it up all season.

I watch and enjoy this show. Last year seems a little better for me so far, it's early though.
