I thought tonight's show had a lot funnier folks than last week's. I still don't like how let people do the showcase after what seems like a crappy set because they like their other stuff. If they are worried about using the same joke's later then don't show those people. Also, if they are worried about that then sure seems like the show is really rigged. I have to say that quite a few of the people who sucked in the audition did do better, but it just seems wrong to see people move on when they were bad.
My daughter and I couldn't believe the guy with the "pardon me" bit didn't move on. We both were :lmao: throughout his routine. The last Lady they put through is too raw and doesn't have the talent to go far. Definitely put through to complete the quota. :lmao:

So is Felipe the friend of Gabriel Iglesias (the fat comedian that was on the show previously)? The guy has the exact sounding voice that Gabriel uses to talk about his funny friend Felipe who is always getting him into trouble. Gabriel was also on season 4 of LCS and kicked off for using his Blackberry, which was forbidden since you can get jokes and bits from others that way, once they have you on lockdown.

Just caught the 1st episode last night on demand. I thought they pushed the funny people thru for the most part. There were a few people that we did not get to see one joke from but I will keep watching

Didnt know it was on last night so I was only able to tape the last 10 of hour one and the whole second hour. This on demand channel from NBC is great though. Only a few commercials and they all seemed to be for a movie or NBC show.

Dude, I just came on here to write that. My wife and I just watched it and couldnt believe it. He was funnier then the facebook guy, the lady who lived with her mom and a few others. He should have been thruI thought the guy from the Bronx was great

I thought the comics that got thru from last monday's (the first NY episode) show were overall better than LA, but I thought the best handful overall thus far were from LA. That said, the amounts of jokes anyone has been able to do have been small.

Comic: Saying certain things in a whisper does not sound right Saying "I love kids" in a normal voice is fine. Walk up to some mothers and whisper "i love kids". It's just creepy.

Typing it out just doesn't do it justice. It was a very funny line.

The 'pardon me' bit was great; funny and unique. I was very surprised he didn't make it through. Based on what we were shown, I would have ranked him top 3 from that showcase.

For last night's show....

Funny: Myq Kaplan, Mike Destefano, Shane Mauss, Felipe Esparza, Jonathan Thymius, Jason Weems, Ryan Hamilton, Rachel Feinstein, Kirk Fox

Middle of the road: Jamie Lee, Paula Bell, Chip Pope

Not Funny: Kyle Grooms, Adrian Pallucci, Lil Rel, Jesse Joyce, Amanda ?, Alicia Cooper

I didn't think Myq's material was fresh at all. It's been done and done better by others. Now Jonathan Tymius absolutely killed me. I literally rolled on the floor laughing, and had to rewind to catch the lines I missed from the tears in my eys. That ventriloquism bit was genius.

Was sorry to see they're still going for the right "balance" of people in the house instead of just going by who's the best comic.

Also not sure how fair it is that during auditions the judges were also basing their decisions on their previous history with the comics trying out and previous times they've seen them in action.

any idea if theyll have text message voting when it comes down to that? i remember it only being the live audience that votes, but it seems like every show that takes votes uses text messages these days and that would certainly allow more input as to who was better.

Been loving his "act" since day one. Absolutely :fishing: dead pan humor.. And yes, the Sock on hand than foot talking was

I don't like that guy at all.

I love how they got rid of the house aspect...

I think sometimes you start to vote for the person you "like" as a person over their material. I think that's why Iliza Shlesinger won. She had some good stuff but did not have a great finals.

kind of meh tonigh
:lmao: There were a few :lmao: moments but not nearly enough, IMO, for the "Top 10".. Hopefully when they cut down the competition and the comics get more time it will get better. Quite a few of them are "Story Tellers" rather than "one liner" type comics and the the time constraints make that type of comedy tough.

Yeah, last night was pretty blah from most of them.

Thought a couple of them (Tommy J) relied on some old material that just ok.

The one good part is less of the judges trying to be funny.

So no more judges from here on out? They were pretty useless anyway, but sometimes they were funnier than the contestants.

I agree that the finals have sucked so far.

The finals are bad because half of them don't deserve to be there. Urkel's dad is is just awful.

Even the old guy sucked last night.

I had a bad feeling it would suck as I felt like most of the 10 weren't who I would have put there based only what we saw on the show. Unfortunately, it seemed like my bad feeling was confirmed. I was hoping that maybe we hadn't seen their "funny" acts, but man they sucked. A final 10 of professionals should have been great and it wasn't even close. I agree on the old guy, he really wasn't good last night. I liked him before, but he wouldn't have been in my top 10.

It is too bad that instead of having auditions that really don't matter they don't just start with the professionals they are going to choose anyway. They could start with a lot more folks and just keep whittling down the comics by half until they get to the final 10.

I thought most were pretty good last night.

Though...Felipe Esparza is mostly not funny to me.

He was ok last night...but last week he was terrible.

And Jonathon Thymius is done. His schtick was funny the first night...but his material is just awful and unfunny.

Roy Wood, Tommy Johnagin, or Rachel Feinstein would be my picks for the best so far and one of those 3 should win it IMO.

And I was disappointed to see the judges back this week...they are painfully unfunny and try too hard...just let the comics be funny and shut your traps.

Agree with most of your post.* The judges don't add anything at this point and I wish there were not back.* Didn't like Felipe* I didn't like Rachel much last night (although I have in the past).* I thought Roy was the funniest last night.* Jonathon should have been done a while ago.

I agree that I did not like Rachel as much last night. But thought she was one of the funniest ones in other weeks. And agree on roy...he killed right off the top.Im just a huge Johnagin fan...my favorite comedian right now along with Tosh.Though, he disappoints at time because I have heard most of the stuff he has done on the show already.

There's something about Mike D's style that I really like too. He has fairly consistently nailed it imo.

I like most of his material...but don't like his delivery all that much.Thats where Wood and Johnagin nail it...their delivery is just so good.

I enjoy Rachel, but I think her talents might be better suited to sketch comedy. Her writing is consistently funny and delivers a lot of chuckles, but she really doesn't do the setup to a great punch line. So it's not like she ever really kills the room. Kaplan probably got the best reaction last night, and I'm not sure he had the best top to bottom set. But he had two great punchlines.

Has there ever been a more disorganized mess of a show on TV? I mean I watch it, but the format of the show has changed from season to season. This season they seem to be making it up as they go along. They have the judges throughout the show, then they mysteriously disappear when they are at the top ten, only to re-appear as they cut down to the top 7????? What will next week's show be down to the top 5, 4, 2??

Anyway I think Jonathon Thymius and Rachel won't be performing next week.

New show in 15...I thought last week was fairly average overall, but better than the week before. I thought best to worst they were

Roy Wood Jr (easily his best set so far in the show)

Mike Destefano

Felipe Esparza

Rachel Feinstein

Tommy Johnagin

Myq Kaplan

Jonathan Thymius

I thought James Adomian and especially Maronzio Vance were better than most of these comics and didnt make it last week. Laurie Kilmartin had no business whatsoever top make it to the Top 10.

I think the Top 10 has been pretty meh so far because they made bad calls on who advanced to that point, especially since Part 2 of the semifinals was much stronger than the 1st. Kurt Metzger, Mike Vecchione, Nikki Glaser, Jerry Rocha, and Taylor Williamson all seemed better than Laurie Kilmartin, Jonathan Thymius, and Myq Kaplan.

Kaplan is alright.

Felipe and Thymius have got to go. They simply are not funny. I don't recall laughing at any of their jokes tonight.

And I was not big on Destefano tonight either.

IMO it was Wood, Johnagin, and Kaplan tonight...the rest were bad.

And yes, the judges still suck. The chick and giraldo are ok...but that other guy is simply not funny, yet he keeps trying to be.

Why is the New York guy (don't know his name) still on there.

He was funny early, but he's been awful the last 2 weeks. Some ok moments but not really funny.

So did the chick get the boot last night. Too bad. She's light years ahead of Thymius. Felipe needs to go too.

Wood is by far the best of the remaining.

Agreed til you say he is by far the best. He and Johnagin are right there IMO. Wood has been a bit more consistent so far though. But I don't think the difference is all that great here.

Who was the guy that didnt get through several weeks back. Decent looking guy who did some bits about church. Then I remember one line in particular where he said its hard to be tough carrying around a baby.. "Check out my son, son." He was the best I saw this season.

My favorites are Tommy Johnagin, Felipe and Myq Kaplan. Wood had a tight set last night and Felipe's wasn't great but I still like Felipe better. His bit about the kid in his ear whispering "I want cereal" while he was sleeping had me :lmao: since that is an everyday occurance for me (5 and 3 year olds). Myq's stuff is really tight, great writer, it get's a little old thanking the crowd so much though. Jonathan T. needs to go, Mike D. is ok, not sure how he's made it this far though as I liked others much more than him. Getting rid of Rachel Feinstein was a good move, she wasn't that funny during stand up.. agreed could be a good sketch comic though.

Felipe is the most unfunny person in the top 10...well, maybe 2nd most unfunny behind Thymius. The cereal line was his only good one.He relies way too much on recycled ethnic humor.Wood and Johnagin blow him out of the water with material and delivery. Its not even close.

....cant believe Thymius made it another round. That guy's last 3 sets have sucked. It seems like most here like Kaplan here more than me. I dont think he's bad, it just seems to me like every week he literally has the same jokes. Destefano and Esparza have really tailed off after being 2 of the best early in the show it seemed. Based on the last 2 weeks, this has to be Wood or Johnagin's to lose. Theyre the only 2 even deserving to be on the show still at this point.

Still wish Kurt Metzger or Mike Vecchione got a shot in the Top 10 :kicksrock:
