I agree with you that Ty has thus far been the most comfortable on stage. I just don't find anything he does that creative or even original. All of his humor comes from things/topics that a dozen comics have already addressed. Half of his stuff last night was derivative of a Chapelle show episode (The Fear Factor bit). Premise: Get poor meth-addicted person on Fear Factor and the show becomes ridiculously easy. Different execution, same joke. The same can be said for a lot of his material.
Yeah, I don't really watch enough stand-up to recognize retread material.

For the first time Mr. Pack might have had an argument for the show being too racy.  I mean not too racy for me, but I remember a few bleeps which is rare for network TV.
Ty pulled out his :toilet: mouth material. S--- and a f---. Too go along with his:

Will wak fur fud
that they let slip through. :lmao:
I don't get whats so "inappropriate" about
Will whack for fudd
It was a mispelling joke. Not a joke about masturbation. If your mind went there, thats fine, but its not a joke that is going to make a 7 year old's mind go there. I found it totally appropriate for a show that airs from 9 to 10pm.

So far, since the final 5 has started, Ty has ripped of Damon Wayans and Chapelle. Next week I expect him to do a Cosby immitation or to tell a story about his Aunt Bunny falling down the steps.

My rankings for last night:

1st place: Porter. Best material. He seemed to lose his place once or twice, but he was hysterical.

2nd place: Ty. A lot of his material is lifted from other comics, but not everyone will catch that. He is very polished, and has a great delivery.

3rd place: Josh. The people love him. I don't like it when he only tells jokes about his disability, because it makes me think he's a one trick pony and I know he can do better than that. He also seemed a bit lost at times last night. And seriously, whats up with the skipping?

99th place: Balan. Ugh. Airplane jokes? Thats all you got?

i thought josh's act was the weakest last night, though there's no way he gets voted off, he's been strong otherwise, he's likeable, and the other comics aren't strong enough to blow him away.

i've seen michelle a few times in NYC - i've been pulling for her, but she shouldnt' make it much farther. honestly i've been at shows in NYC where there were 5 or so comics and she was obviously the weakest.

You realize the misspelled word is "work" not "wack". Even though it sounded like "wack" I think the censors were right not to bleep it.
I guess my :sarcasm: doesn't come over very well in the typed word. ;)

Ham nailed it re: Porter. I think he's pressing. His material is still far and away the most sophisticated and original. His delivery is still good, but not what we've come to expect.Josh, in my opinion, does a great job of drawing us into his world and doing humor that involves his disability, but we NEVER feel sorry for him. That's a skill. Every disabled comic I've ever seen before him that involved their disability in their act, I felt more pity than humor. There isn't anything unusually creative about his observational humor, but it is a brand new and unique perspective. Because he is so likeable, he will walk away with this title.I agree with you that Ty has thus far been the most comfortable on stage. :goodposting: I think it is now a three man race. Michelle relying on airline material will not cut it. I thought Porter, Josh and Ty all three had excellent sets again. I fully agree that Ty's material is the least creative, and believe this will be a showdown between Josh and Porter. Josh is incredibly endearing to the audience, which is why I believe he wins.

Worst performer of the night = Gary Gulman.

What happened to him last night? The role playing stuff about the paper on the Industrial Revolution?

Off night for him.

Very :goodposting: Afterwards, when they hyped: See him live. My first thought was "not if that's the material he is going to use"

Best part of last night?

Josh talking about a drunk, CP, Scotish man talking to him>

:lmao:  :lmao:

"OK, buuuuuuuddddyyy"

On Tourgasm he said he was very tired of his material. Maybe he was trying some new stuff out, or he was frustrated and half assed it.

Bring back the cookie jokes!

I think I've realized that I don't like this show. These people aren't funny enough to hold my attention for an hour.
i realized this a few weeks ago and skippped a weekbut then started again cause i like josh and porter

ffwd is your friend

Porter was great, Ty was decent, and Josh was a little off tonight.
Porter>Ty>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Josh
and yet, if I were laying odds, I think Porter goes home next week leaving a final of Ty vs. Josh.Porter hasn't connected with the viewing audience the way Josh has. His drug set last night was likely to alienate a good bit of middle America. He's still the best, most original comic on there, but I think his choice of set last night was very risky for this point in the competition.

pretty good by both of them tonight, but I think Ty edged him outdat phan is still around?
Josh was mediocre at best tonight. It should have been a Ty vs. Porter final.

Last night is a little more difficult to handicap.Josh is still the crowd favorite. His material wasn't as great last night and his delivery was a little off, but it was all fresh and new. I like how he tries to come up with some material each week that you know he's just written. Makes it feel less like his comedy is pre-packaged.Ty was crisper with his delivery, but he will suffer from some of his bits having been seen already. It leaves the impression that there isn't a lot of depth to his material.Josh beats Ty in a close one.

Dat Phan is 100 times better now then 3 years ago.

I actually :D and  a couple times.

This from someone that disliked him immensely during season one and thought the only reason he won was people felt sorry for him after the "hide & seek" incident.

oops last year's thread oh well...disappointing outcome, no way that Ralph should have won the challenge.

I thought Ralph and Matt were about even, with Doug well behind. Didn't have a problem with Ralph winning.

That tranny was the scariest thing I had seen in awhile.

I would rather watch reruns of last year's show. I was so disappointed with the final 10 they chose that I haven't bothered watching since.

So far I have to agree.. this season has been a  fest.Hopefully now that we are down to the final 5 things will pickup.

rip off, Lavelle (sp?) Crawford should have won
Neither of these two were in my top 5 from the show so who really cares anyway.I watched the first half hour of the finale, it was painful to watch and I turned it off.Carrot Top? Puppets? Dane Cook? WTF?

Did Dane Cook even perform? I think he is so bad, he didn't want to go out there and bomb since it might hurt the ratings of his new movie.
