**** OFFICIAL **** LOST - The TV Series (1 Viewer)

What do you cats make of them knowing Sawyer's given name, instead of his 'nickname'?

I found that pretty amusing.

Also... do you think the bearded dude's group isn't allowed to kill or hurt anybody in their own 'region' on the island? Most of the LOST castaways have been dying or caught on other parts of the island. ...but they send Michael in to do their dirty work.

Also, what do Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Hurley have in common? WHY THEM?
Maybe they have been focus grouped as the most popular characters at some point so they wanted the finale to feature them?

Does that mean Steven M. Bornstein is the head of The Others?

The woman (Miss Cleo was it?) seems to have a prominent role with The Others.
I thought I heard "Clue".
They're gonna need a bigger boat.

Not the same boat we saw before either.
This one was a sailboat.
Yah I heard Clue. But they are REALLY reaching to make everyone associate her with Miss Cleo the psychic. They pick an actress who looks and sounds like her.
She sounds nothing like Ms. Cleo.Stop it.
Stop it.That's what I said when they revealed her name as "Miss Clue".

LOL

That was so dumb.

Here's a question: Did Michael know Hurley's first name? I don't recall whether he did or not. But tonight he called him Hugo and saw Hurley's first name on the list he was given. Assuming this isn't just a continuity error, perhaps it could be a sign that Hurley may suspect Michael's up to something.

Nah... Hurley's too much of a simpleton. He wants to kill the dude that he thinks is responsible for Libby's death. He doesn't suspect Michael. ...just Sayed and Jack do.

Also, what do Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Hurley have in common? WHY THEM?
And why not add Locke to the list? Isn't that who Henry said he originally came for when Locke questioned him about not escaping when he had the chance? Unless of course that was just one of Henry's many lies...

Anyone see that pile of stuff behind Jack in the previews?

I'll white it out in case it's a spoiler.

I'm pretty sure those were the tubes from the Pearl hatch. I guess they weren't really going anywhere.
Tivo slo-mo confirms, IMO.Also from the previews...

Desmond can be seen running at one point with a rifle.

As John goes to smash what appears to be the computer, a black hand (Eko?) stops him. This could be the knockdown drag-out Endiku/Gilgamesh fight we've been waiting for

Echo should have been at the funeral in my opinion. Charlie should have saved one statue for the church. He could have cut the bottom out and thrown out the heroin. I feel bad for Michael. It is a crappy situation he is in and I wonder if it is part of the experiment?

When they first escort Michael into their camp, the camera seems to beliberately show the face of a black haired man sitting on a rock. Didn't recognize him but it seemed as if I should.

I guess that is why they showed Michael with a compass. My question is, how would that compass work with that big magnet on the island?
Wait a minute, the magnet that BARELY lifts a necklace when sitting on the thing? You think that magnet is really going to make a compass needle screwy? NM, you must be one of the people who thought the magnet pulled a place 20,000 feet out of the sky. :loco:
In an earlier episode, Sayid discovered his compass was useless and attributed it to "some strange magnetic field that seems to be affecting it" (or words to that effect).

Anyone else seeing what is on the key in the preview? Wonder what that means.

BTW, are previews considered spoilers? I thought that when they play on national television, they cease to be hidden.
Looks like the swan logo to me. I wonder if that's what caused the lockdown.

Maybe it's just me, but the one big unanswered question from last night's episode is... Why did Michael kill Anna Lucia? Ms. Clue never asked him to or instructed him that AL had to die. All Michael had to do was bring back Henry, Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Hurley.

Really, IMO, all of Michael's actions have been completely irrational and unrealistic.

First, why was he so belligerant with the Others? I understand the "angry father wanting his son back" routine... but I would think cooperating and a civil tone might have gotten him a lot further than all the yelling and resistance he put up. I honestly think that most rational people would have realized that and played that type of situation much differently.

Second, why did Micheal feel like he had to hide the truth from the rest of the survivors and why kill AL? If it was me, I'd let everyone in on the truth, ask them to release Henry and then explain that he needed the four people to go back with him. I think the Losties would have done all that to help Michael get his son back.

I understand they are writing the story for drama, so making people act completely rational doesn't exactly make for an interesting story. But some of this just doesn't make much sense to me. I'm looking forward to the season finale to see if hopefully they address some of this better.

I paused it on Tivo.To me, it looked like a logo we haven't seen yet, but I could be wrong.

I think this confirms that the Pearl is just another experiment. Unfortunately, no one in the party there knows of the Pearl, so none of them will know what to make of it.

So, now people can stop saying that Michael's IM conversation was NOT a halucination or vision.

ETA: Please excuse the double negative.

It was clearly NOT a vision.

OK fine but what about that whole question mark/circle deal? ;)

Probably just a production/editing error...

From a previous episode Zeke says, "Bring her out, Alex!"

And from last night's episode: "Bring her out!"

Also, I thought Alex actually did bring Kate out when we first saw the meeting and last night she stayed to talk to Michael.

Why do you even care? Not being a smartass, but we have seen enough visions/dreams happen to know that they occur. I don't think anyone can argue that. Why is it more plausible that the Others communicated to Michael over a 100MBps LAN line, which no one else has noticed, than using a vision? At this point, I don't think it matters either way. I personally don't think it was Walt on either occasion. Someone asked above, but even in the first case, the "Dad?" reply came after Michael typed in his name to a who's this type of question.

I guess Walt should have just IM'd Shannon using the island network instead of showing up as a vision, huh? She might have been better off. ;)

Actually it very well could make the compass screwy.....it doesn't take much of a magnetic field to screw up a compass, there are plenty of actual places where compasses don't work.

Sawyer bonding with Jack near the end of the season is becoming a trend. :D
Bonding? Or some sort of ego/competitive thing? Since Sawyer thought Jack and Kate got it on during their journey, he just had to let Jack know he banged AL. That "closest thing to a friend" was just another of Sawyers sarcasms.
I don't think so. I think it came from the heart -- what heart Sawyer has. Last season, it was Sawyer telling Jack about his meeting with his father. That was his parting "gift" if you will. This season, he's telling Jack about nailing Ana-Lucia. Why? Well he has to tell somebody and like Sawyer said Jack's the closest thing he has to a friend (other than Kate who he obviously isn't going to tell this story to). For as much as Sawyer likes being hated and being the outcast I think he also wants to gain Jack's approval because Jack represents many of the things Sawyer isn't and could never attain.
Sawyer can be viewed as the moral center of the story. The losties have consistently used their guns on themselves (AL, Libby, Shannon) or used them against the will of the group (Charlie killing Ethan before they could get info). When he took all the guns and declared himself sheriff, no one got hurt. Now the guns return and the losties seem to be heading for a battle with the others which will probably lead to them again using the guns on themselves, especially because of Michael's turn. He confesses to Jack because he is the reason AL and Libby died--he let her have a gun--and seeks absolution. Unlike Jack's knee-jerk response to problems, Kate's need for relevancy, Locke's shifting faith, or Eko's self-involved missions, the results of Sawyer's actions are always correct and moral. He also consistently responds to ethical pleas.

During the 'funeral' scene, did anyone else have a flashback to the WoW thread? I almost expected there to be shots of the Others racing across the island toward the funeral. :hophead: :bag:

I thought he said Alex last night as well. Alex asked the guy she was with to do it and he brought Kate out, but Zeke definitely asked Alex first. Alex asked the other guy so she could ask Michael about Claire, who she helped escape.

Guess I missed it last night then. I hoped the production team wouldn't make that sort of mistake, given the revalatory nature of the first quote when we first heard it.

I think you are right. At first, when he looked up to Michael, I thought he realized something, but then it was to tell him that he was going. They have really been playing up the Michael frenzy about the mission and I definitely think that Jack thinks Sayid is correct now. If Michael really wanted his son back, then he would take Sayid instead of Jabba and Jin instead of Kate. He mentioned too many people, etc., but they made it blatantly obvious that he was compromised.

Also, I agree with Rhino above, I don't know why Michael wouldn't have told the survivors and come up with a plan to get Walt back. If I were Michael, I would have no reason to trust Ms. Clue even if I did what she asked, especially with what Walt said. Oh well, I guess that is why they are making him seem a little whacked to make it more plausible that he isn't thinking at all.

I just remember that we never actually saw anything but an arm giving Kate to Zeke. I think some of these flashbacks for future episodes are shot at the time they film the earlier episode, so I think in that case it is probably less likely for them to make a mistake.

Has anyone seen anything interesting on the questions that Ms. Clue asked or anything that Walt said? The only thing I saw earlier was the comment about Ms. Clue asking if Walt appeared anywhere he shouldn't have, which may be them thinking that Walt told the survivors things in his visions and I agree with that thought.

The first thing I thought about when she asked if he appears where he shouldn't was that time that blond chick saw him in the jungle with water dumping out of his mouth.

It is not the same logo that was on the hatch doors in the Losties area (which just looked like a rectangle to me). Based on the little bit of the bottom that was visible it looked like it could be a swan, but not sure. It is rather rough and undefinded unlike the other logos we have seen.I am sure there will be sceen caps soon.

Walt looks a lot bigger. Love to see how they explain that. But they lkely won't.
Looks lighter-skinned too. They shouldn't explain it. It's up to the viewers to have an ounce of common sense, imo.

Seemed like they tried to cut it out. I think you could still hear the x sound.I don't think it's a big deal, but it confirms that the writers of this show are definitely writingas they go, and don't have some master plan from day 1 that they have been following.

Yeah, I don't remember him saying "Alex" during the original meeting, but in the recap show they played a few weeks ago, they made it clear that he called her by name and I assumed it was another "change". I believe we've seen minor changes in past scenes before - such as when Boone originally talked on the radio in the plane, you couldn't make out what the response was, but later when they introduced the group from the tail section, the replay of that scene was clearer and you could hear "No, we are the survivors of the Flight 815". So, there's a little inconsistency there. I guess they needed to go back and modify it some to expand the plot. It's all good.

Of course they are. You think they have every episode penned out in advance?I'm sure there's some large story arc they're using, and they fill it all in with side-stories as time goes on.
