*** Official Michael Turner 2007 offseason thread *** (2 Viewers)

PLease let this be the Titans...please let this be the Titans...
As a Michael Turner AND LenDale White Dynasty owner. Please let this be anyone but the Titans...please let this be anyone but the Titans...
I think Tennessee signs Brown if they do not trade for Turner. They cannot go into 07 with just White
I agree, but would certainly prefer to have my two cheap young running backs on different teams. I also think that resigning Brown means that for better or worse LenDale will be the start this year. If TEN trades a first round pick and signs Turner to a long term deal I think he is given every chance to be the starter.

So who is the logical team here? GB and BUF seem to need him more than TEN.
I think you're probably right. I think long term GB might be a better situation simply because they are a zone blocking team and Turner seems to be a really good fit for that system.

I cant say the source but it will be accounded by 3:00pm saturday that turner has been traded to the Titans.

So stay tuned.

So the eternal pessimist in me has to ask.....what's the over/under on which week LaDainian goes down for the year? :goodposting:

I made a post asking where most think Turner would go now that he's going to be a Titan and it get locked. What gives??? Anyway, what do you guys think? Late 2nd? Early 3rd rounder?

Turner will put up great to elite numbers in GB...they tend t have soft schedules and their RB's always succeed.

Guys this post is almost like a movie Some highs , some lows and then a hollywood finish.Let s continue ................ :lmao:
Wouldn't it be something if, after 1500 posts and finally a trade, he goes out and rips his ACL in his first minicamp with his new team? :lol:ETA: *ducking stuff being hurled by Turner owners*

Yes, fflivewire.com follows what I have to say (post#1145) very closely.I really can't blame them.
I just don't see Thompson giving up a #1 pick, even if it is 2008.I think maybe SD is just sending out info to spark some more interest and get more of the price they are looking for.
This conspiracy crossed my mind as well, and it would be genius because with him setting up that there were several teams interested then there’s no real way for the teams that really wanted Turner to confirm if it was real or not. I don't believe in conspiracy's but if this wasn't a real offer then floating this information out there before the draft would have a been a smart move.

Then it would be the end of the movie ...So sad ...

But that's beside the point , is nt it exciting to be a Turner owner in a dynasty league .

Traded . Vick , Jamal Lewis and Brandon Jones

For .

Bulger , Turner and Davenport ( i own Parker )

I feel so good about that trade especially today .

:excited:  :bag: :bag: :lmao: :lmao: This is awesome, awesome irony.
Is it irony if its true?
The ironic event has to be true by definition I believe ... an incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs ...
Hey watch your language around here Mr. "incongruity", no more of those high brow academic cuss words. :)

Clayton on SportsCenter just said that Buffalo has been eliminated from the Turner sweepstakes. He say TEN and GB could be involved. But he reconfirmed that a 2008 1st Rounder is the offer on the table.

Seeing how the 2008 first rounder seems to be the more likely compensation what's the overall feeling comparing the strength of this year's draft class vs. 2008? Just for fun seeing how we are all just waiting on the other shoe to drop on this Turner deal. We might as well talk about something kind of sort of on topic.

So when does this go down? Tonight? Tomorrow? Since it is a 2008 pick, neither team has to wait to see if the player they want will be available at that pick. I guess the trading team could wait to see if the first round pick tomorrow changes their thinking (e.g., GB's offer is contingent on something absolutely crazy like Peterson falling to them not happening).

I'll bet that this is done by the end of tonight so each team can go to bed knowing exactly what their "needs" are for the draft tomorrow and what ammunition they have to make other deals (e.g., SD could use the traded pick to make another move).

The latest:

The Titans did not offer a first-round pick in next year's draft, according to sources familiar with the trade talks, but have discussed other options including one scenario where the two teams would swap first round picks in this year's draft.

Another trade scenario would involve the Titans giving up a second-round pick in this year’s draft, along with further compensation either in this year’s draft or in next year’s draft.

I'm not sure how next years class will compare to this one. It will probably be stronger, I've read that some of the teams only have 15-20 players from this years draft billed as first round talent. Not sure how true that is. If you can take any sense of draft status from mock drafts that one could come to that conclusion. Seems the first 15-20 guys are all the same, maybe not the same order but the same guys. Then after that it's quite a bit of variety. Also, I think that whatever team is offering the first rounder in 08, is betting they will have a low first round pick next year. If it is a 2008 draft first, we must assume that whoever is offering it has someone targeted this year, and is expecting immediate results. Otherwise, why not give up this years first, assuming that next year will have more legitimate first round talent. If it's the Titans, I think it's because they are expecting playoffs. If they add a Ted Ginn and a DE like Woodley in the 2nd, and trade for Turner. I think they could actually improve upon last years record. However, Green Bay could very well be trying to load up for one last hoorah for Favre. If they make a play for Turner, I could see them going after Moss and mortgaging a draft for their golden boy.The plot has thickened.
