Solid episode last night."But the lavendar ranch is something two men are mean't to do together.""I ordered an extra long straw so I wouldn't accidentally do a sit up.""Score...we have an iron."
The writing on this show is phenomenal. There's usually at least one line that gets me each week. Last nights was by Phil: "Why do parents eat their young? Is it because they're delicious? NO..." I was laughing too loud to catch the rest of what he said...Oh, and gimme Claire over Gloria. She'd pe perfect if she didn't have that huge pertruding vein in her neck.
Phil: Just to be clear, I'm not condoning eating your kids, but I sure as heck know why giraffes do it.Claire: What?!?

I loathe Phil. I think the actor they got to play his character was poorly cast. But besides him I love this show. Especially the fat gay guy. He needs more screen time - cracks me up every time.
He is by far my favorite character. I love the line from a few episodes ago where he was talking about his background and said, I was a first string lineman for XX. Suprise! Totally cracks me up.I love being a stay at home mom slash trophy wife.

Sophia Vegara is a decent. She'd be a 6 on the offdee scale.

:bye: It almost doesn't matter what he says - the guy has stunning comedic timing and delivery.

True. I love how he manages to be both the feminine and masculine one in that relationship.

I found Phil annoying at first, but he's really grown on me. I agree about Cam. He needs to be on-screen as much as possible.

Phil is an absolute riot. First episode that I watched of this show was when he was on the phone, talking to somebody like they were old buddies... "Hey man, how's it going? Sucks that you have to work today, it's really nice out. Well, anyways .... I'd like to order 2 large pizzas."

He's hilarious.

Claire - "It feels good and weird at the same time."

Phil - "I know I was sitting by that nozzle a minute ago."

Then later in the elevator Cam references that nozzle and Mitchell said he didn't know because Phil was hogging it.

So many funny lines from this show.

I love this show. My wife hates the Phil character, but I'm a big fan. The writing and acting is great.

Julie Bowen (Claire) is pretty hot, especially for being 40. She looked great in that one scene from a while back when she was crawling on the ground in her underwear to avoid being on the webcam.

Sofia Vergarra is still smoking hot. I first remember seeing her in Big Trouble about 7-8 years ago.

Did you really just make a comment and goodpost it in the same quote? How 'bout you save the insults until you learn to operate a message board.

You've been around for seven years and still don't know what you're doing? I might not want to brag about that. You should just quit while you're ahead before you get schooled by a five digiter.

apologize for calling you an idiot. Even though you're very wrong about Phil being poorly cast, I shouldn't have resulted to namecalling.I don't apologize for :goodposting: ' my own post. That was dripping with arrogance, you should've picked up on that....but then again you're a 5 digiter, so I shouldn't expect it.

You People

Cam: "When Mitchell and I first met I may have exagerated my interest in adventurous travel, by implying I had any. But its one of the things he loves most about me, and I can't tell him the truth now. It would be like Lewis telling Clark that he didn't like to walk. Side note, we are very good friends with a couple named Lewis and Clark, Clark bought a big sparkly belt in New Orleans that he calls his Louisiana Purchase."

I love how he drops these little gems, in almost every episode. This is one of those shows that gets funnier as you discuss it. They've been hitting it out of the park this season. IMO, the best thing about the show is that with so many characters it'll be very hard for them NOT to come up with new material. Hope this show stays around for a long time.

As good as (and maybe consistently better than) Seinfield at it's peak. They seem to have taken a very slow and wide u-turn from wrapping up each show on an up/sweet tone and just let the show fade on it's own. Simply stellar writing and cast, they have have hit any clunkers, must see viewing. Phil is :lmao: and that's not up for a debate.

My current rankings:1. Phil2. Manny3. Cam4. Jay5. Gloria
Gotta flop Manny and Phil....And sub in Luke for Gloria...These are comedy rankings right?Manny: I noticed some lovely some lovely tweens down by the kids' club, maybe we can find a nice spot near them by the pool and send over a couple of virgin Mai Tais. They may be interested in two sophisticated men like us.

Phil is such a major part of the show that it seems strange to me how you could like the show if you don't like Phil.
Phil is ok, but his shtick gets tiresome to me. I think Manny gets the best lines and I laugh at pretty much everything he says so I'd put him at #1. After that I'd probably go Cam, Jay, Gloria and Phil.

Manny is at the bottom of my list, but Luke has been climbing the rankings lately. No joke, when he put the noise-cancelling headphones on last week (couple of weeks ago?), I almost lost my ####.My rankings would be:1.) Phil2.) Cameron (VERY close second)3.) Claire (in family situations)4.) Mitchell (foil for Cam)I enjoy the Jay/Gloria/Manny storyline, but cannot recall laughing out loud with anything involving them other than Jay's "biggest hurry of your life" - which involved Cameron.

I mentioned this in another thread, but this is the first large ensemble cast that I recall enjoying every single character. I usually can't stand someone. Here, there are ten primary characters (not counting Lily), and every one is solid, IMO.

To those that don't like Phil, have you seen the entire season? I think the first few episodes he definitely was coming off as a Michael Scott clone, but as the season progressed, I think the writers noticed that too and started to steer him more into his own type of character.

If you have seen the whole season, maybe those first episodes forever tainted your view of him.

I agree, and would even count Dylan. However, I feel they try too hard sometimes with the middle daughter. She's the only one that has more misses than hits.Commercial for tonight's season finale looks good :whoosh:

"The Hurt Locker... more like the Squirt Locker."

Edit: Gloria looks outrageously hot right now.

I don't watch George Lopez. But there's a link on fark.com that discusses his and her (Julie Bowen, a guest last night) decision to air a photograph of her demonstrating how she breastfeeds her 1 year old twins. With a pic to illustrate her "double football" style hold.

Anyhow, love the show. Definitely see what people are saying when they are complaining about Bowen's fake boobs being disappointing, though. But not in the breastfeeding pic, I guess.

Was it just me, or was that the weakest episode of the season?

Still a worthwhile 22 minutes of television, but I didn't think it was up to their usual standards at all.

I agree. Last week's Hawaii episode had a bunch of laugh out loud moments. Last night was just so-so for me.
