Chuckled after the Saints picked Banks at 9 when Mykel Williams was drafted by the 9ers at 11 and his first highlight was breezing right by Banks for a strip sack.
I said before the draft that I would trust Kellen Moore to pick the QB he felt was “his” guy, so that’s what I’m gonna do. I’m not as concerned with Shough’s age as much as I am with his injury history, but we’ll see. Was Justin Herbert’s backup
Banks - I don't get it, is he playing left guard then? Shifting Fuaga to RT where he's never played? That's a rich pick for a guard.
Shough - I do like the tidbit that he was Herbert's heir the best. It's the HC guru whose offense led by Herbert then [Shough but injured] then Ward. So I like the origin story, it's the post-Sophomore history that concerns me and the sense this feels like a reach.
Broughton - I'm stoked.
Stutsman might be a stud.
And I'm happy with the two DB picks.
Can't have everything I guess, lots of emphasis on defense while the WR & TE lineup is still paltry.
That whole Carr thing was just weird. I think it helps the Saints short and long term so if he's happy I'm happy. Good to get out as a multi-millionaire while you can still speak in complete sentences and walk up the stairs without assistance.
It also keeps camp from being a circus. Shough from day 1 running the 1's.
(Edit to add: Very excited with the Asante Samuel visit today - thoughts and prayers)
Rooting for this guy, seems like the kind of guy that stands up on a bar table at 2am and says DRINKS ARE ON ME.
All kidding aside, he's going to have to be VERY squeaky clean after the gambling 'scandal' in college. Bet $15 on his team to win on Draft Kings (DOH) - that and hundreds of bets on other teams.
Lefty, was Brock Purdy's backup, high completion percentage, lively arm, has good pocket awareness and some legit wheels.
Katherine Terrell
Moore said Rattler and Shough have been rotating by the day with the 1s/2s and that will be the case for the rest of the offseason. Said Haener took snaps with the 1s the other day before he got hurt
- Spencer Rattler looked very comfortable and you could tell he had a year under his belt.
- Tyler Shough was perhaps a little more hesitant, but he shined on a beautiful deep ball to Rashid Shaheed down the sideline. Got the defense to bite with a pump fake.
- Versatility across the offensive lines and defensive lines stood out. Penning got reps at LG and Alontae Taylor was lined up in several spots.
- Rashid Shaheed and Chris Olave look completely recovered. They had real nice days.
