I think the "This is awesome " chants have been played out as well.
Don't even get me started on "We are awesome".
I really can't differentiate between the two as I'm pretty quick hitting the mute button every time I hear "awesome"

Can we officially say that Reigns is over?? The crowd last night was light years away from the crapfest that was the Royal Rumble this year.
I think he's still disliked by the "cool kids" (20-something males in cities like Chicago and Philly). Once you get in their dog house it's hard to get out. But yeah, he seems to be getting more popular. I assume he'll get his title shot at Survivor Series, and I'm looking forward to it.
I just can't get behind the superman punch, it's just an absurd move, in my opinion. His spears have seemed to be getting progressively better but still aren't great. Other than that, I have been open minded to liking him.
Is it me, or does his spear seem to hit the opponent and then stop flat? It's almost like he's diving head first into a brick wall. He spears the guy and then they just fall down. It looks like they aren't even selling it. Edge and Goldberg used to at least drive an opponent so that they collapsed into a <- shape when hit with the spear. Reigns looks more like I-.

I like roman a lot. He's definitely getting better. And it's easy to forget that the "cool kids" mentioned above have disliked anyone that isn't a Punk/Austin renegade type. It's totally normal for 11 year olds and 26 year olds to like different things.

Except boobs. Everyone likes boobs, at 11 and 26 and 66.

Well then explain how Big Daddy V never got over.

It does seem that way but I would assume that part of the move would fall on the other guy more than Reigns wouldn't it?

With that said, the SuperMan punch has been getting a LOT better... it was cool at first, then got boring when he stood there waiting for it for 30 seconds, but now that he's working it in mid-move like he did out of KO's pop up powerbomb, it's got kind of an RKO out of nowhere feeling to it.

I like Reigns but my biggest issue with him is he's way too PG on the mic. I know not everyone has to be Stone Cold and 'stomp a mudhole in your ###, walk it dry, throw your little carcas in he truck, etc etc etc' but he's in a major feud with Wyatt and has been getting tormented for months, but when he cuts the promo he says things like "Oh yea? We'll im gonna beat you" or "You'll see Bray this Sunday we're gonna win" ... it's almost got the dumb guy who just got burned and has no comeback kind of feel to it. He doesn't have to go all attitude era but if they want him to be a badass they need to give him badass lines.

A great example of this the Owens/Cena match at Battleground. It was their 3rd PPV match in a row and Cena won via submission. After the match the cameras went to a kid in the 2nd row celebrating wildly with his mother and as the camera panned to the left there's a pair of millennials in the front row wearing their KO shirts just shaking their heads in disbelief.

Reigns needs a mouthpiece. He needs a Paul Heyman. He plays well off Ambrose and when I see those two I can't help but compare to early HBK and Diesel. You could put the belt on Reigns and keep them a duo, right? Heck, put the IC on Dean, the tag belts on both of them. We haven't had a "faction has all the gold" situation in a while.

Jerry Lawler and his girlfriend hit by car that ran a red light Saturday night.

"I'm fine, but Lauryn is pretty banged up. We had taken care of the trick-or-treaters and went for pizza right near the house. We were coming home to catch the end of the University of Memphis game. I was sitting at a red light at a busy intersection not a minute from my house. I got the green arrow to make a left turn. I started making the turn and I saw the car coming, not slowing down at all. The driver ran a red light."Lawler continued to say, "Lauryn was in the ER for four hours. Her face is really, really swollen on the left side. They also put her in a leg brace and knee immobilizer. I think she has a concussion because this morning when she got up, she fell down and saw stars and black spots."
I hope Lauryn is feeling better soon. Good to know no one was seriously injured.

First presale for 32 started this morning. I finally decided to opt out of ticketmaster sales and look for tickets on stubhub weeks leading up to event. Anyone else going this year?

With Cheap Heat gone after the shuttering of Grantland, I'm looking for a new wrestling podcast to listen to. Suggestions?

My free favorite is Don Tony and Kevin Castle Show as I've listened to it for many years.

The other free ones I just bounce around every few months Flair/Austin/Jericho if they have a good guest.

My personal favorite is Vince Russo's (cost $4.99/mo but does have free content) vincerussobrand.com but worth it for amount of video content you get. (5-6/week with 2 video interviews) You can actually grab a bunch of his past video interviews (Angle etc...) off his YouTube channel too.

The LAW podcasts are great IMO (Live Audio Wrestling)

Very dry and very canadian

they do a live sunday night call in show but I love the Review a Raw and Review a Wai spots with John Pollock and Wai Ting.

Just did a search on Ticketmaster with the HHHVIP code. Cheapest seat available is $1500? Something is off.

As great and historic and magical as Steve Austin's run in the WWE was, I'd wipe it all from existence if it meant I'd never have to hear that "What!?" chant again. It's worse than the wave.
Since the fans won't let it go (what's it been, 20 years?), someone should embrace it and bring it back... like New Day. When they say "what?", he says "I said ***!"

"what?", he says "I said ***!" "what?", he says "I said ***!" "what?", he says "I said ***!" "what?", he says "I said ***!" "what?", he says "I said ***!" "what?", he says "I said ***!" "what?", he says "I said ***!" "what?", he says "I said ***!"

maybe it could make someone more popular if they just go with it.

Book New Day for a title defense. Have them do this for as long as possible. If it goes over twenty minutes, Steph and HHH come out to announce that the match is rescheduled for next week because they're out of time.

LOL!!!!! Great schtick!

Maybe it's time for Sheamus to cash in on Raw, only to have Reigns beat him and take the title at SS
Not a bad idea if you could do it safely. Rollins could be cutting a promo saying he got hurt and can't wrestle. Sheamus comes out with a ref, and brogue kicks him while he's standing in the ring on crutches. Would create huge heat for Sheamus, because what's lower than attacking a cripple? Assuming Rollins is out for a few months, he would back to a massive babyface pop when he returns.

Or they could vacate the title and let the last man standing in a survivor series elimination match be the champ.

Maybe just wait and see if Rollins misses any dates? Wouldn't surprise me if he works tag matches on the rest of the tour and rehabs to work the SS singles match.

Crossfit Jesus has incredible healing powers. Don't doubt him.

This is my thought as well. Rollins is most likely doing Burpees in a hyperbolic chamber as we speak.

ACL, MCL and medial meniscus for Seth Rollins according to WWE app. Ouch. New champion to be crowned at SS.

I guess they're going to crown the new champion with an "elimination tournament" at Survivor Series. I wonder if it'll be 8 or 10 guys like a survivor series match, only with nobody on teams? Last survivor wins?

You've never heard of a tournament?

Of course I'm aware of the King of the Ring or WM4 style tournaments, but I figured it being survivor series, they might use Survivor Series type rules.

I think it was more about your "eliminiation tournament" line. I can't recall a tournament that didn't involve eliminations

That's what the WWE called it, instead of just calling it a tournament. Perhaps I read too much into it.

You are. Aside from those mentioned above, The Rock won his first WWE Championship against Mankind in a similar tournament in Survivor Series '98.

So who is even going to be in this thing?

Reigns

Wyatt

Ambrose

Sheamus

Ziggler

Bad time for Cena to go on vacation
other strong possibilities:

Owens

Del Rio

Consider:

Big E

Cesaro

Barrett

Neville

Ryback

Longshots:

Breeze

Samoa Joe

Cena

Stardust

Miz

anyone else from NXT

injured:

Orton

Rusev

Other thap Charlotte-Paige, was the Rollins-Reigns match the only one scheduled at SS? If so, they could do one of their grandiose 14-man tournaments. That probably would put spectacle over match quality but they have a deep and varied roster for it.

Faces

Regins

Ambrose

Ryback

Cesaro

Ziggler

Kane

Neville (Because Brock probably won't enter)

Heels

Del RIo

Big E

Owens

Barrett

Sheamus

Wyatt

Breeze

Of course, that sacrifices the Wyatts-Taker build, so we're probably getting an 8-man tournament, and that's not really a bad thing.

Next question - who should win this thing? Anticlimatic for Reigns to win it here under these circumstances. I say he gets bounced on a fluke before the finals and Del Rio beats Ambrose in the final, dismissing Zeb Colter in the process.

One out of left field, save the day entrant I failed to consider originally is the man himself Daniel Bryan. Picture the crowd reacting to his surprise appearance - and the absolute hatred Del Rio (or the heel of your choice) would get with a tainted win over him in the final.

One of my friends happens to be in Europe currently and was at the show yesterday. Said Rollins still finished the match with a pedigree. Doing a pedigree with a torn ACL/MCL? Yikes.
