So one of my friends does a local podcast in our community and there's a girl about 15-20 mins from me who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma a cancer in Children. survival rate for non aggressive 5 yrs is 90-95% and the more aggressive less then 50%. I do not know what this little girl has. One of my friends saw the story of this girl Lilly and sent it to me for a few reasons. One my mom works at CHOP (CHildrens Hospital of Philadelphia) and two he knew I had some contacts in wrestling and thought maybe I could find someone who could help out. For a 10year old her favorite celeb/role model is The Rock. the group trying to help the girl is a podcast called Delco (Accro for Delaware County my County) who are helping the girl with Cancer. They have a promo challenge basically calling out Rock to Respond to meet the girl. Similar to the Ice Bucket challenge they are getting into character and sending promos (a lot of these are better then WWE's today) to The Rock to meet her and then tagging people in facebook. A few local celebs have done it as well like M Night Shamyla and others who also called out long time SNL cast member Tina Fay who grew up down the road from me.
Anyway I told my friend I'd see what I could do. I know a cousin of the USO's and Roman thanks to a podcast I listen to he supports. I told him the story and asked who I could contact for these things. I was expecting a name or # or email to contact. Instead he told me to send him the links to everything to his email. Told me he'd send it to Leati AKA Joe AKA Roman. He said Roman could get it to Dwayne and all. I was blown away about what he was gonna do. I asked what are the chances of this happening and he said it will happen. I message the podcast to just inform them that I saw the video and I reached out to a contact who knew how to get this to Dwayne. I just said I did it do to the history I have with cancer and my mom is a breast cancer survivor. Well today I just saw a video from our local news station that Lily (The 10 year) received a video message from Dwayne and received some sweet gifts such as a Chiefs apron with "DO you Smell what Lilly is Cooking" a Microsoft laptop personaly engraved with her name and some cool Rock products. He also said he was gonna come visit her soon.
Now I was not informed if it was message that got to Dwayne that got this or not but I'd like to think maybe I had something to do with this as I had a direct contact. I just wanted to do something nice however given how close this is to me and the issue it is. No one informed me of any of this happening so I'm suspecting possible it wasn't my message.I didn't expect any thanks or anything. Just wanted to help a little girl dealing with a difficult time in her life some happpiness
