Rush re-signing with AEW!!!!!
"I started a new chapter in my personal and professional career, people doubted I could make it, today I want to say that im 100% AEW.
Thank you Tony Khan, thank you fans and thank my LFI brothers.
We can now rule the wrestling world."

The Blood And Guts edition of Dynamite at the TD Garden in Boston was the #1 show on cable Wednesday.
According to WBD, the show reached more than 2.5 million total viewers on TBS live on cable, DVR & TBS the TBS app.

This has been in the works but now we’re hearing former AEW star Brian Pillman Jr. is reportedly in the process of finalizing a deal with WWE.

On July 11, PWInsider reported that Pillman Jr. and AEW parted ways after his contract expired. Pillman Jr. was then reportedly at a tryout with WWE, per Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reports that, a deal is in place, or one is in the process of being finalized. To be clear, Pillman Jr. has not signed a contract yet. With that said, sources have indicated that Pillman Jr. will move to Orlando by the end of August. He would then report to NXT and start training at the WWE Performance Center.

What do you think of this news?

I am six nights behind on the G1; I will never nocturnally recover from this. Review for the first three nights:

The returning excursion class is a big one and it is on fire!

Yota Tsuji
Shota Umino
Ren Narita
Gabe Kidd
Alex Coughlin

They are all impressing me in their first matches. Yota Tsuji is the second coming of Nakamura, Umino of Tanahashi, and Narita of Shibata. Kidd and Coughlin are fitting right in as gaijin bruisers for Bullet Club.

Kaito Kiyomiya (of NOAH) and Eddie Kingston are both having stellar debuts. The fans have latched on to Eddie from the start as he is built exactly like other famous gaijin (see: Stan Hansen) and is just so emotive in the ring. He is having a helluva time, going full King's Road style to much applause. This is my first time watching Kiyomiya and it is obvious why he is the ace of NOAH. I expect him to make it out of groups and to advance to the semifinals. Kiyomiya has a flashy look with an old-school Japan moveset that heavily borrows from his mentor Keiji Mutoh.

Of the other debutants, I am looking forward to all the matches of Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste now. Very nice opening matches for them with hard hitting, crisp timing and good looking movesets. Nicholls is already considered a bit of a journeyman tag guy at this point in his career; however, Gedo may be looking for a larger singles role for Nicholls after the G1 concludes.

SANADA is finally truly over and feels like a star. He has a very interactive portion of his promos with the crowd and the audience is happy to oblige him. TAICHI is also on the rise as the right hand man of "SANA-bro". They are a very good pairing as the frontmen of their new faction Just 5 Guys.

I can't just mention literally everyone because it would take forever, but my final mentions are for Jeff Cobb, ELP, YOSHI-HASHI and Will Ospreay. Ospreay in particular is looking to break away even further than he already is from the rest of the wrestling world and is imo ready to ascend back to the top of the heap of New Japan. He has the US Title now else I would be convinced he was winning the tournament and main eventing WK against SANADA. That match would have seemed like an awful main event six months ago but Gedo and SANADA have done an excellent job of improving the SANADA brand.

Matches I starred as particularly watchable follow.

Night 1
YOSHI-HASHI v ELP
Umino v Narita
Kiyomiya v Tsuji
TAICHI v Ospreay

Night 2
Ishii v Finlay
Takagi v Kingston
Tanahashi v ZSJ
Naito v Cobb

Night 3
Narita v Tsuji
YOSHI-HASHI v Ospreay
SANADA v Umino
Okada v ELP

Jamie Hayter is out indefinately. There was reports that hopefully back by ALL IN but not the case

SPaking of ALLIN speculation that WIll Ospreay could face CHris Jericho

In other AEW news WWE didn't offer Rush a deal after a few WWE insiders told the dirt sheets that WWE saw that AEW offered Rush crazy money to stay

ALso similar sources apparently told dirt sheets that the feeling is Kenny Omega The bucks and Page will all resign with AEW now. WWE awhle back was more confident they could steal Omega then they were of signing Jay White, but given the relationship all have in AEW and Don Calias there it's very likely they all stay.

AEW has filed to trademark the name "AEW Plus" on Monday, July 24th according to the United States Patent & Trademark Office database.
The trademark application Goods and Service usage description states the trademark would be used for the "streaming of professional wrestling entertainment video material on the Internet."
It appears the AEW streaming service is finally upon us

Watched the first two episodes of Heels last night on Starz. Third episode is sitting in my DVR for tonight.

I like it, it's good, and I would imagine most everyone in this thread would enjoy something about it. Small town wrestling promotion, about to go broke, led by an older brother who is the embodiment of old-school rasslin', right up to heel kayfabe around town, and the upstart younger brother who is getting interest from "guys up North".

We know the star, Stephen Amell, loves the business and it shows. The creators clearly are fans, even the episode titles ("Kayfabe", "Dusty Finish", "Cheap Heat, "Swerve") call back to the history. Lots of locker room things, going over the card/practice/business speak is fun, even if they don't have a ton of wrestling in each episode, just enough.

Plus you get to see Disney Channel graduate Kelli Berglund (Lab Rats anyone?) doing things that would make the Mouse blush.

Four episodes in and still enjoying this show. CM Punk was in the last episode as the "aging, grinding indy darling" going from town to town to put food on the table. Played it as almost a sad tale in being in the business too long. Someone compared it to Sons Of Anarchy which it does have that vibe, but I think the cast is better on this show.

Still plenty of sex and nudity including male frontal for those that like that kind of thing. And one of the best lines I have ever heard on television that I can't type here, or get banned.

Season Two of Heels has started back up on Starz. Went back and rewatched the season one finale and then the first episode of season two and was absolutely entertained. David Shoemaker called it Friday Night Lights with Pro Wrestling this week, and I think that is even a better comparison than SOA.

CM Punk is back, and rumors are that his lovely wife AJ will be on the series this season as well.

RIP Exotic Adrian Street
The Brynmawr-raised performer was known for his androgynous appearance and claimed to have taken part in more than 12,000 fights during a career that spanned seven decades – including one contest where he dropkicked Jimmy Savile.

Street left his home town in the 1950s to seek fame as a wrestler in London, rejecting his family’s tradition of working in coalmines. In the capital he became known for being a heel (bad guy), specialising in antagonising crowds with his fighting and appearance.

He later developed a penchant for flamboyant costumes that challenged social norms and helped sow the seeds for glam rock – often appearing wearing lipstick, with bright dyed hair and wearing a feather boa.

BREAKING: Sports Illustrated reports Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks’ Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson, and “Hangman” Adam Page each signed multi-year deals to remain with AEW.

In addition to their work on-screen, Omega and the Bucks will remain Executive Vice Presidents

• The Young Bucks vs. FTR
• Rob Van Dam vs Jack Perry
• Jeff Jarrett vs Grado

Are all being discussed for AEW All In at Wembley Stadium

Really? They have to bring in an old RVD to wrestle Perry on their biggest show ever? Seems weird to me that they can't put together a better program for someone that is supposed to be one of the 4 pillars.... (spoiler, he's not)

MJF says the way he grew up led him to stabbing people in the back before they could hurt him. This is why he is how he is.

But Adam Cole and the AEW audience have taught him that he can open himself up.

MJF says he's still a scumbag but now he's OUR scumbag. Adam Cole comes out and tells MJF that the people want to love him and he needs to accept it.

MJF tells Cole he appreciates the verbal fellatio but that's not why he called him. MJF wants to fight Adam Cole for the AEW Championship in Wembly Stadium.

Adam Cole signs a contract and the match is ON!!

Meltzer on The Elite

“The 4 guys had made a pact that they were going to stick together. —

It had gone back & forth, — But they all had agreed that they were gonna go together as a group, either to WWE, or stay (in AEW) as a group, so it was not gonna be a split up.”

- Dave Meltzer WOR

“If these guys thought that WWE was going to make an offer substantially better, you know, they’d listen. WWE could not legally make an offer —

But WWE did have interest in all of them, especially Omega, they had great interest in Omega in particular”

- Dave Meltzer WOR

AEW All In “The Biggest Event in Wrestling History” is the official tagline…..

This is going to eat at the higher ups of WWE, no matter how you paint this event, it’s a huge moment in wrestling history. AEW is on track to have the largest paid gate in the history of Pro Wrestling. If it truly does happen, they maybe the second promotion, but they got a major W.

MJF doesn’t even have to jump ship anymore, he gets to compete at Wrestlemania later this month.

Not withstanding Collision in Korea.

It is now Fightful originally reported it was being discussed for all in. Then during a segment last night RVD is challenging him next week

Per WRKD Wrestling: There are growing frustrations backstage in WWE with the handling of the Women's Division over the past couple of months on TV.

Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus reportedly had their match cut from SummerSlam because of “time”.

HHH is personally making sure the matches on the card Saturday night in Detroit already get plenty of time. The two women were offered to have the match pushed to “Payback”, which did not go over very well.

25 years ago: "I Choppy Choppy your Pee Pee" - RAW goes off the air with Kaientai about to chop off the d*** of Val Venis for sleeping with Yamaguchi San’s wife.

Reporting after Dynamite, Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted that Van Dam is only scheduled for only “one bout against Perry.” This hints that the veteran won’t be sticking with AEW for a lengthy program given the match is happening on the next episode of Dynamite. Furthermore, WWE is advertising Van Dam for its WrestleMania 40 packages in Philadelphia.

My opinion is worth richard.....but I caught MJF's face-turn last night.

Pretty cringe. Page weighs 130 lbs, soaking wet.

The only worthwhile payoff is MJF overreacting to and misreading social cues from Adam, deciding he in fact can not trust anyone, and going back to "not our" scumbag. He's not a great babyface. He HAS to be a heal.

WWE fans everyone rejoicing they won't have to deal with the biggest **** stains in wrestling history in the indyrific Balding Bucks 👏👏👏

While I agree with this sentiment, I don't get the thought process of those who proclaim themselves "WWE fans" or "AEW fans." If you are a fan of pro wrestling, shouldn't you be rooting for both to do well, rather than just rooting for yours and hoping the other falls on their face? The business in general is better when multiple major promotions are firing on all cylinders (see: the mid to late 80s, and the mid to late 90s before WCW fell apart).

I never got this. I get it if you don’t like their style but to not even give them credit for what they’ve done when half of the WWE roster wouldn’t last a month in NJPW let alone the dojo is bonkers. I get liking different styles but dam shouldn’t you hope wrestling does well?

When a competitor does well it makes the other company try better. Why wrestling was great in the 90s. I think people have been so brainwashed by WWE after all these yrs they have an us against them mentality and it’s just sad. I hardly watch WWE outside of PPV both NXT or main. Why? It just doesn’t make sense to waste my time on a weekly show when I can easily get the story line fast from their good Pre match videos.

Also I just enjoy the style and pace of AEW/ROH/NJPW a lot better.

Awhile back Saraya talked about her brother possible getting a match on a pre show if they went to the UK. Zac Zodiac

All In rumored card from the Observer:

• FTR vs. Young Bucks
• Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita
• Will Ospreay vs. Chris Jericho
• BCC vs. Eddie Kingston & Orange Cassidy & ?
• CM Punk vs either Samoa Joe/Ricky Starks/Jay White
• Jeff Jarrett vs Grado

Dave also says he could see something with Sting & Darby Allin with Nick Wayne or Keith Lee against AR Fox & Swerve Strickland and someone else from Mogul Embassy.

And Hikaru Shida could defend against Saraya being in London or in a multi-person match.

WON: The current estimated return time for Jamie Hayter is February 2024, due to various injuries, although that’s at best a rough estimate.

Lol, Big Show during the Parking lot brawl "I have experience in fights around big cars like this" or whatever he said. Too bad this wasn't a monster truck "fight".

Rhonda and Shayna :towelwave:

.....and absolutely no one cared.

I don't think anyone would have cared no matter the type of match. WWE needs to end the Ronda experiment. I don't bring her back even if she wants back down the road

Damn it Jimmy!!!!

Paves the way for Solo to go face though.

Thought was solid event overall. Cody/Rhodes...... LA Knight....Seth/Balor and main event were solid. Ronda/Shayna IMO one of the worst matches in Summerslam history. Sad this was Ronda's idea of "putting Shayna over". Other women's match went way way way too long and they shouldn't have cut other matches out for this particular match to go on so far long.

The only way Priest's cash in will work is if Dirty Dom blindsides him before the cash in and steals the cash in and wins the title. Dirty Dom and Rhea are the only reason Judgement Day is still alive IMO. Finn and Priest are midcard acts. They're 3rd and 4th fiddles to the Dom/Rhea.

How cute last night they turned Starks heel to try to get more pops for Punk. It was a mix reaction at the end

Ricky Steamboat stops Ricky Starks from cheating then counts the pin for CM Punk after a roll up.

Ricky Starks flips out, takes out Punk. Robs Steamboat's belt off his pants and whips him over and over with it

Big Time Becks seemed a little salty about it.

Talking to a few sources the women are getting very frustrated in The E again. It seems everything Steph and Hunter built up in the division is being torn down and Trips is the one who ironically pulled the plug on her match
