Sports Illustrated has confirmed that this will in fact be the “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson's final year as a full-time performer.

Danielson’s final year of his contract is in 2024. I’m expecting Bryan to re-sign with AEW to remain elite.

Danielson has said on multiple occasions & interviews that he seriously loves everything about AEW and what TK has done for his career. Danielson will probably become a producer backstage or something like that.

TMZ reports that Matt Riddle’s sexual assault claim at JFK airport has triggered the launch of an internal investigation.

Law enforcement sources say Port Authority officers got a call for a disorderly person who was deplaning, and they met him in the terminal. As it turns out, that was Riddle.

Cops talked to Riddle, as well as other witnesses, and he seemed apologetic in the moment. No police report was filed and everyone was free to go without incident.

Sources say the Port Authority was shocked by Riddle's claim as, from their view, nothing went down to warrant such an accusation. Still, they’re told the department is taking his claim seriously and an internal probe has been launched.

Riddle, in a now deleted Instagram post claimed allegations of being touched inappropriately by a cop but didn’t go into too much detail.

Talk on around is Matt riddle mightbe done with WWE. Was taken off tonight’s raw and this weekend’s live events. Pending investigation not looking good for him right now he’s had some problems. I might be back on them.

"I don’t make those decisions. I watch what I say in interviews. But he’s [CM Punk] certainly controversial, and he gets people talking. I’ll just leave it at that.”

Disney & Amazon are the two companies in the most contention for SmackDown’s TV rights.

The feeling is that FOX is not going for the $300 Million+ which WWE is trying to get out of Smackdown in TV rights negotiations.

A lot of stuff wasn't advertised on RAW, and the reason is they were changing all day long.

Vince McMahon is back and made significant changes to the show.

Congratulations to GUNTHER on surpassing The Honky Tonk Man as the longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion in company history at 454 plus days.
Good to see that "record" fall. Honky Tonk Man was a clown. When you go back and watch his matches, he was pretty horrible in the ring. If not for hitting people with his guitar, which was an easy and cheap way to get heat, no one ever would cared enough about him to boo.

Everyone points to Brutus Beefcake as the biggest Hogan hanger on, as they should, but ol' Roy Honky Ferris deserves some play as well. That guy never leaves the territories without Hogan's help.
As a kid, I got the gimmick, but never had an opinion, good or bad about him. He was just on TV alot because Hogan and Savage didn't want to be.

According to Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics, Monday’s episode of WWE RAW drew a base average of 1.353 million viewers tuning into the USA Network.

It’s the second lowest Raw viewership in show history, just behind the 2022 December “Best of” episode.

Becky winning the NXT title makes sense. Have seen rumors/fantasy booking of Becky v. Rhea at WM 40. April is a long way away, and having Becky hang down in Full Sail for a while keeps them separated.

Plus the whole Grand Slam/Horsewomen thing is a nice feather.

Has anyone seen the new show on Netflix called “Wrestlers”? My man Mr. Pec-tacular is on it.
It supposedly is about OVW.

“There is the realization that over the past year, I’m getting hurt after every big match I have. That’s a sign. I love wrestling, but I do not want to wrestle at the expense of my long-term health. I did the Iron Man match with Max, and then I didn’t wrestle again until Anarchy in the Arena, and even that was a lot of smoke and mirrors. Then I wrestle Okada and I break my arm. The injuries are piling up. At what point is that worth the risk? Especially when my kids need me at home.”

Good for him. Was "supposed" to be done long ago. Level-headed, not committing slow suicide by this tv program. Happy for BD.

Nick Khan interview on Bill Simmons Podcast this week. Last 1/3 of the pod if you don't care about NFL stuff. I'm sure there is some spin there, but Khan seems WAY more level-headed than McMahon or anyone in that family would be. He's obviously WWE TID, but I still kinda buy what he is selling.

Ufc already released a fighter tonight could be a bloodbath tomorrow

While inquiring about whether there would be talent releases as well the expected staff releases, Nick Hausman reports a WWE source said that “major cuts” are expected to the WWE main roster and NXT brand.

It was not explicitly said told that the cuts would be coming tomorrow, but they have been planned for some time.

One source spoken with speculated that Endeavor could lay off a bunch of Stanford employees tomorrow and then wait to release talent at a later date, but that was purely speculation.

I mean, I love BD, but he really can't help himself and adjust to wrestle safer matches? He came in and once he was in that stupid BCC he was wrestling needless hardcore matches. it's his perogative, but this was his choice.

He could have easily wrestled banger matches in a safer style.

Agreed. Bryan is incredible in the ring and capable of wrestling a high energy, high spot match or a gritty, down on the mat match, as either a heel or a face. He can pretty much do it all in the ring.

I still think his match with Punk at Over the Limit in 2012 is one of the best matches ever. Both guys were on top of their game and told a great story.

Speaking with Rick Ucchino for Bleav In Pro Wrestling, Jon Moxley explained the pride he feels for being trusted to step up into those positions. On the other hand, Moxley says that same reliability had been taken for granted during his previous stint in WWE.

“I think it’s kind of our thing. We take a lot of pride in our work and our work ethic and our standard that we set ourselves to, and the way we do the job. To be one of those guys that’s like reliable kind of always there. The downside is it’s very, very easy to take you for granted. In the last conversation I had with Vince McMahon, like real conversation, he straight up told me, ‘We took you for granted.’ Soon, I was gone. Never talked to him again.”

“It is a tough job. I got a lot of experience, so a lot of stuff is very familiar to me. I’m very comfortable doing stuff that a lot of other people might be intimidated by. Orange Cassidy pulled off an amazing performance at AEW All Out. He lost, but he pulled off an amazing performance in his first ever pay-per-view main event.”

“That was not planned in the weeks out. In fact, everything would have looked completely different. But that’s kind of how it’s going to go. If you’re going to have any success in wrestling, it’s very rarely going to go according to plan. You got to be ready to take opportunity when it’s there. When things go awry and the wave changes direction, you got to be able to surf on it and stay on your board. You got to be able to go with the flow, so to speak.”

.

Mox continued on to emphasize the importance of versatility.

“Depending on one’s match placement and the audience’s vibe, one may need to adjust their match approach. “Every big opportunity I’ve had probably in my career has come completely out of the blue. You’ve got to be ready to get your **** together and strike when the iron is hot,” Moxley said. “And I think Orange Cassidy did that 100%. Being in a main event, you think like, ‘Oh, what’s the difference? Your match is last instead of second or third. What’s the difference?”

“It’s a big difference, especially on an AEW pay-per-view because they’re so stacked. Often, you count in the Zero Hour or whatever, you’re talking about five hours of wrestling. I don’t have any control over anything else that’s on the show prior, and a show in itself is kind of a living work of art in that you have to book it with its ebbs and flows and highs and lows.”
Ease Off The Pedal.”

“It can’t just be 1000mph, foot on the gas pedal matches ten matches in a row because then you’re going to burn the audience out, both watching at home and in the arena. You’re in the main event. You don’t know where the people are going to be at by the time your match is up. Often at an AEW pay-per-view, you’ve got to be able to almost instantly feel where they’re at. They might be taking a breath right now after the last match or two.”

“You might need to start a little slower and lull them into a sense of relaxation and then pick it back up. If me and Orange Cassidy were in the first match, that match will look totally different because it would have been a different scenario. I don’t like to plan too much in a situation like that. I want to kind of gauge where we’re at and see what we need to do to get them where we’re at. Our job is to close strong, like being a pigeon closer. That might not always be just run out there at 200 miles an hour.”

"Bryan, I consider maybe just the greatest pro wrestler that ever lived.

Which is a very humbling thing that I get to say that, I get to be tag partners with him and work with him. To have somebody like that on your side, to bounce ideas off of it to play that Regal role and tell you this sucks or whatever, or change that, that’s an immense tool, that I don’t take for granted, that I have in my toolbox that I get to pick his brain.

Bryan is like the greatest pure pro wrestler of all time.

If you just picked him up and stuck him in any ring of the world, whether it be in the parking lot of an auto parts store in Tijuana, or the Tokyo Dome, or the main event of WrestleMania, or AEW Dynamite, you put him in any ring against any opponent with no context whatsoever and just ring the bell. Anybody watching, he will suck into that match”

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, has stated that he’s “feeling confident” that MAX will be the home of AEW in the year 2024.

ROCK VS ROMAN AT WRESTLEMANIA 40?!?!

The Rock tells Pat McAfee that WWE had Rock vs Roman locked in for WrestleMania 39 during early 2022. But they decided to wait until after the TKO merger.

BREAKING: Jon Moxley reveals that he is battling and diagnosed with potentially a “crippling health condition” which is a serious level of arthritis. Jon stated that he has struggled to even move, also added that if he had to wrestle in the morning, he would opt to retire.

With that being said, Mox will continue be the true fighter that he is for kicking heads in the ring.

Marketing team hit hardest

Today's WWE layoffs have been completed.

Over 100+ employees were let go over the course of the day.

There were 0 talent releases today, nor were there ever any scheduled for today.

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, the end result will see AEW move to MAX in 2024 and run 12 pay-per-view events a year.

“I think next year is going to be very interesting for them [AEW] considering the rights deal is gonna be done soon, MAX…I feel confident to say MAX is going to be their home…I also feel confident that they are going to run 12 PPV’s a year. Not a prediction my friend… I feel very confident to say it.”

12?! Perfect for TK's hotshot booking style I guess.

I hope they settle their differences. P&P better together. Been following these guys for years

According to the latest report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mike Santana had to be "talked into" working alongside his former teammate at Wembley Stadium in London during “All In”, with both men rarely sharing the screen together during the match or in the lead-up segments on television.

The Observer revealed the root of their issues, being Santana reportedly unhappy with his position in AEW and hopeful of parting ways with the company, however, his contract was extended due to his injury.

On the flip side, Ortiz didn’t want leave and very was content earning a steady paycheck with the promotion, leading to the lingering tension between both men.

According to a report by the Wrestling Observer, the only thing holding up WWE and Edge coming to an agreement on a new contract, are the two sides apparently being far apart when it comes to money.

The internal belief is that the Grizzled Young Veterans (The Dyad) will be officially leaving the WWE when their contracts expire on Saturday, October 14th.

PWInsider reports that Jade Cargill is currently scheduled to be at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando this coming week.

She's reportedly going to skip NXT and head straight to the main roster.
