Official Seahawks 'Wheels Coming Off the Bus' thread (2 Viewers)

With this Seattle fire sale, I wonder if they deal Zach Charbonnet. Probably not with this being such a strong RB class but it seems that they’re not beholden to past decisions here in the present.

If you're going to have a fire sale on anybody, it's Walker. He'd bring the most back in return, I think. I also don't think that, as menobrown pointed out in another thread, they're having a fire sale here. They likely have Darnold lined up to sign and some sort of commitment from him, and DK requested a trade (I think) rather than being shopped actively by the team. I just . . . I have a hard time believing a new coach is going to sign up for that sort of process, really.

But stranger things have happened.

I'm feeling that the best we are going to get for DK is a 2nd. Hoping that is NE's 2nd.

If he's willing to sign an extension I think the Pats would be all in on that.
Yeah, I think that is a problem with his "want to be in a warm climate" comment.

I don't see anyone paying him more than the Pats will so we'll see if $ talks.
Maybe the Chargers, maybe. $90M in space....

Seahawks have a solid secondary, good running backs, JSN and a decent young TE. Pick up a WR 2 somewhere and they really aren't bad, except for their atrocious O-line. Signing Darnold, getting a couple picks for DK, and not overpaying Geno are all pretty good moves. If they actually build a real offensive line, they could be a decent young team with a game-manager QB for a couple years until they can land a franchise QB.

@ex-ghost- and anyone that's familiar with the Saints last year

I'm bumping the thread to find out what you think Kubiak's system is going to entail for usage for the different offensive pieces.

Last year the Saints offense came out of the gate on fire with him at the helm and Derek Carr- Shaheed went nuclear. Then (teams adjusted??) and Carr got hurt.. things slowed down quite a bit and now he's paired with McDonald as his HC.

Ken Walker was used more in the passing game last year but he's been really unable to reach the ceiling as a runner that he's always been thought to have. Mostly because though he's explosive, he also doesn't always make good decisions and gets caught behind the line more often than he should. This leads to his never gaining "every down" usage. How does Kubiak's bocking and run game differ from what Seattle has been running? Does that pair well with what KW3 does well?

Apparently Kubiak also uses a lot of pre-snap motion. Who's going to benefit from that? I feel like with Kupp there running out of the slot, JSN could end up in motion a lot. How's that going to influence the types of routes that the different WRs are running. Is there a secondary piece of this passing game that's going to emerge as a fantasy starter? If it goes well, who could break out and why?

Chatter in Seattle about Charbonnet getting more work this year and they seem to really like McIntosh and the rookie Martinez. Last year for Walker probably, too injury prone to re-sign after this season.

TE should be utilized much more. Many thought Fant would be cut this offseason, but that did not happen. Drafted Arroyo, high hopes for him.

Not sure how two slot receivers will be used, but they sure as hell don't have the Metcalf replacement.

Call me nuts, but I think you guys win the division this year. San Fran is no longer San Fran. Same old Cardinals.

Think it's a two horse race between you and the Rams. On paper it doesn't make sense, but these kind of unpredictable turnarounds happen so often they almost become... predictable?

Cooper Kupp and Smith-Njigba should be plenty enough fire power to compete with the Joneses.

ETA: Just realized you guys tied for division last year at 10-7, so maybe my prediction isn't as crazy as I thought.
Gutsy call. I think the Cardinals are actually a team to watch. I have never been a Kyler fan but they have enough weaponry and have added a lot to the defensive side. If Kyler can settle in, I think they could be the surprise of the season.
