i was reading on ESPN last night that its very likely that Spector doesnt start. I'm sorry, but this makes no sense to me. He really proved himself in the confed cup and is excellent at crossing the ball (which helps exploit our advantage in the air). Is his defensive skill set really that bad a matchup against the Mexican attack?

Cherundolo is also good at these things and has a little more seasoning. Bradley favors experince, more so on the road, even more so at Azteca. Azteca is a frightening place.

I understand where you're coming from, but 'Dolo is no slouch. Spector hasn't locked down the RB spot on the national team by any means. If Spector doesn't start today I'm sure he'll get his chances in the future. But this is a huge game in Qualifying, this isn't a time most coaches feel comfortable "giving players a shot."

Also, I just moved and don't have cable yet, so if anyone stumbles across a place to watch the game today online I'd appreciate a link or something. Anyone have any idea what the lineup will be? Cherundolo or Spector at rb, Bocanegra lb, DeMerit and Onyewu, Bradley, Clark?, Dempsey, Donovan, Altidore, and Davies?

At least he should be assured of playing time, which is by far the most part important of his decision.

I've read that if you are going to get it you will not see until game time. I've read a couple of places online that it is being picked up by Comcast in Pittsburgh on station 607, then I read it will be 607 across the entire Comcast network. Of course my local Comcast and the 1-800 number know nothing about it.What station are you seeing it as?

I learned last night that I have Mun2 on ATT U-verse. I've never seen or heard of the channel before, so don't know if its a special one-day thing or not. I am recording the game to watch when I get home tonight. I could not care less whether the broadcast is english or spanish - although my spanish is terrible, the english-speaking announcers rarely provide any insight and really just annoy me more than anything else.

that kinda makes sense. I'm not a massive Ching fan, but his work rate is much better than Jozy. Maybe they throw Jozy in late for a spark when the Mexicans are tired.

I like Spector a lot, but if I were coaching I'm unsure if I would give him the nod today.I think Bradley picks Steve.

A source has told me that Steve Cherundolo will be starting today and Jonathan Spector will be on the bench. Makes sense given Cherundolo's experience and superior speed. Yep. I believe he started getting regular time at the end of season when he was healthy though. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.

It would be interesting to see him get some time at LB in some coming games, that could be a huge development for the USMNT.

Yep. I believe he started getting regular time at the end of season when he was healthy though. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Looks like he was active for their last 5 games of the season - 3 unused subs, 1 sub appearance, and 1 start. :(He's never really been able to break that lineup....hopefully this year will be different.
