just pissing chances away over and over. Wondo's movement is good, but he shoots like a girl.

God i wish Davies hadn't gotten in that car.....

Wondo seems like one of those strikers who you know will never score consistently against good competition but adds a little something extra that the rest of the players don't. Always working hard, good hold up play.Eerily reminiscent of....Brian Ching.
bigger upside IMO
Ching had the bigger upside. Lots of nuance to his game, along with tireless hustle. Not a great player, but more complete than Wondo. And a much better fit in the Bradley system. That said, I'd love to have Wondo prove me compltely wrong and score a ####load of goals for the US. So far, I'm not seeing him combine well with anybody. But he does bring a different style than Agudelo who plays too similar to Jozy right now.ugh... too many closish calls on defense.
Ching was absolutely zero threat against good teams. Wondo is a very minor threat simply because he's liable to pull a rabbit out of a hat.Neither are the answer but it is obvious that we need someone with a motor opposite jozy.
I haven't seen anything from Wondo yet for the US that shows any rabbits. I hope to be proven wrong.Yeah, Ching wasn't a major goal threat, but he'd put the ball in on occasion. Mostly, he made his team mates better by getting to where he needed to go and playing the smart, simple balls to guys running off him. I haven't seen that yet from Wondo for teh US.

Is it me or does Landon never run at players any more? He seems to always check up every time now. He must feel he no longer has the extra gear.

:goodposting: I wonder though if whatever illness he had that kept him out vs Spain is sapping him a bit. LA Gal fans... has he looked slowish before the GC?

I have seen him play multiple times for LA and it's very similar to how he plays for the US.

Guadeloupe will be getting tired and hopeless in the 2nd half.An early goal for the US and the floodgates should open PDQ.
I hope so. Team could use some confidence going into the Jamaica game who is the only team unscored upon in Gold Cup. Even Mexico gave up a goal.

It seems like when teams put high pressure on the US, M Bradley tends to drop back deeper making a more flat-two with his other central MF. The resulting spacing completely ####s the US possession and attack, and opens too much space for possession by the opposing teams in the middle. The high pressure and the crappy US spacing constantly puts the US on the wrong foot on both sides of the ball. On the other hand, when he or his partner stays pushed forward a bit, ths US attacks and defends so much better. IMHO.

Jamaica has looked pretty good- very physical, fast and enough guys are pretty skilled on the ball. Again, IMO, the US will have to hope that Jamaica will be tired, as they are in form right now.

Jamaica will have an extra day rest on the US which likely means they will be plenty fit for game.

Jozy misses on the doorstep, Wondo runs into the 6 yard box and gets "surprised" by a cross that basically lands on his feet.

Unreal.

Guadeloupe looks gassed going forward.

Now is the time to press ths #### out of them and get that ... jesus. how many times will they miss from inside the 6?!

Not like Clint hasn't blown a few chances of his own tonight, but why doesn't Bob at least give him a CHANCE to start a game up top?

It just seems like such a better option that plugging in the MLS flavor of the month/year who is ALWAYS overmatched.
