Worst I've seen Howard play in a while.

Who is the future after Howard?

No one yet. Timmy has been phenomenal all tournament. For those guys who are only watching this game don't be fooled by one bad game. Assuming no injury he is the keeper for at least 4-5 more years.

I don't see how to be honest. Coming into the tournament Mexico was clearly the huge favorite on paper, Bob was actually pretty ballsy with his formations and personnel the last three matches (exhibit A: Freddy Adu).Just have to tip your hat to Mexico, they're just the better team right now (I just threw up in my mouth a little typing that)

It's a nickname. His real name is Javier Hernandez.

Just asking questions here. Would you prefer that we didn't tune in at all so the team toils in anonymity?

Almost every game in the Gold Cup has been sold out. Just because you are not watching, plenty of others are. Oh and questions are fantastic. Statements made to look like facts after watching a team play 75 minutes in a year is always going to be fraught with problems IMO.

It will depend on what he does at club level. If he playing he is likely going to be on the roster.

I think it's a given he's on the WC Qualifying roster.I'm wondering where he fits in if/when everybody is healthy from a playing time and strategic perspective.

I think he had to assume that the shot would not have been placed as perfectly as it was. There was no room for error based on how high Lichaj got up.

I agree, it was inch perfect. And Dolo never would have got to that shot either.

Agree - PK is like a 95-99% certain goal, the odds were far less on the Gio shot. It was just perfect placement, what can you do?

Oh didn't know that. They must have tweaked a rule some where along the way. I know in the past it was a red and a PK.

That was one of the worst guys for us to lose, but it's not like the defense was airtight before he went out. Mexico easily could've had 2-3 goals before Dolo left.

Yeah, they definitely did not rise to the occasion...quite the opposite actually.

The defense started out shaky even before the injury. I don't think it would have changed much.

Pk's I don't think are that high a %. I think it is more in the 70-75% range. Can't find it online though.

Absolutely. The more questions the better. Sadly though I think a lot of people are like Genedoc who like the sport but have a hard time following club level because of no connection, which is very understandable.

I didn't think Landon or Dempsey played well in the second half. Freddy was pretty consistent until he was subbed. Losing the Confed Cup placement hurts but if we trade it for Freddy's coming out party it may hurt a little less.

I thought Bocanegra was solid given the circumstances.Howard, Bornstein, Goodson, Jones, Bedoya, Lichaj were all terrible.Lichaj gets a pass because he's still very inexperienced.

Horrible night for Timmy. Flat footed on 2 goals, late to react on the other 2.

I know we probably would have lost anyway, but Bornstein was partially responsible for the first 2 goals. He's absolutely useless. I actually uttered the phrase "I wish Bornestein would die" at one point tonight.

I still believe he is slowing down as a player. Others believe he is hurt. Guess we will know certainly when qualifying starts next year.
