Drogba does a Busquets and pretends to have been hit in the face. What a disgrace!

Campagnaro gets booked simply for because Disgraceful Drogba falls over clutching his face.

Meanwhile, manager John Terry gives some coaching advice from the touchline.

Wow, two great chances for Seattle and Santos comes back and scores two immediate goals. Huge swing. Santos in control now, Seattle must score to get to OT.

All square! Perfect cross by Montero to a snap header by Fernandez. 3-3 on aggregate and level on away goals!

Can't decide if I like the unis the Sounders are wearing. They look like they should be riding for Team Astana.

####### horrible handball decides the game. Naples could not defend a ####### corner all damn game so they deserved to lose, and Chelsea handled Cavani and Lavezzi while Naples never got a lot of good looks. The Inler goal was awesome and I thought they had it there, but once again the franchise of failure blows a golden opportunity. They would have gotten rolled in the quarters but it would have been nice to win just one round, tough loss.

 Is that teal or aqua? I don't like it by itself. But adding that lime green makes it even worse. But I really like the Santos unis.He says as Santos scores its third.

Andy (and whoever else interested)> check out this week's Men In Blazers podcast on Grantland if you haven't already. 25 minute interview with Garber
Thanks Ted. Garber is making the rounds like crazy. He has been doing non stop interviews. Anything new in this one? I can almost answer the questions as well as he can now :)
Not really anything new, though Roger Bennett has geared the interview towards MLS' place in the global football landscape, not so much in the Anerican sports landscape. It's interesting stuff so far.

I will give it a listen. Thanks for the heads up. The Men In Blazers podcast has been fun the few times I have listened to it.

Nice going LA and Seattle :bye:
Probably not how LA figured the season would start :)1 point out of 9, and 7 goals against in 3 games.I guess they took their press clippings to heart. And this might also indicate that Gonzo being defender of the year last year was no mistake.Only silver lining is that the fan base up in Toronto really needed this after years of supporting such a poor side.

Quote of the week, from Basel coach Heiko Vogel on Bayern's 7-1 win over Hoffenheim Saturday:

"The margin of victory does not impress me. I have absolutely no fear that Bayern will score seven goals in one game [against us]."
A good friend of mine - a Bayern season ticket holder - was at both games. So he saw Bayern score 14 total goals over two consecutive games at the Allianz.

:lmao:

Just had a rather heated EPL discussion with a random guy I saw walking by. I always get excited when I see someone wearing EPL stuff, as it presents an opportunity to talk about the league I enjoy watching. I get even more excited when it's not Man U stuff. This guy went by wearing a West Brom warmup kit. I throw out the "West Brom, huh?" introduction, and he asks me if I follow English football. I say "Yeah, I'm a Liverpool fan." He immediately looks like he wants to shank me.

We get into a heated discussion about the Suarez/Evra affair, whether or not Ferguson is a hypocrite, etc. He's from West Brom, but likes Man U. It didn't go well. I'm going to have to watch out on my way back to the work van. :nervous:

LOLI've strike up similar conversations myself. A Chelsea guy a few weeks ago looked really depressed and said that they were going to miss out on CL next season and get the boot from CL this year. Not so fast my friend...

United about 35 minutes to being out of Europa. They are down 1-0 (should be 3-0) and honestly are getting severely outplayed. Discouraging effort today.

First leg was a cracker, United was lively, but had problems against the counter.

Second leg  No one from United came to play.

2-0 now...could easily be more coming. Bilbao missed an absolute open net in the first half from the 6 yard box, and have had numerous other good scoring chances. I have yet to see one dangerous chance for United. Pogba getting some run now.

United down 2-0. Athletic is a good team, but to drop 5 goals on United like this with 2 goals against?

PSV and Valencia are 1-1, but Valencia has a 2 goal advantage still.

:goodposting: And at the risk of igniting that fire again, SAF isnt a hypocrite, none of his players (no matter how dispicable) never lied to him or United like Suarez did to Liverpool. Not that that makes it better, or ok or anything, just a different perspective.
Adiós Man U :bye:
And a well deserved exit it is... Now there is no excuse to not win the EPL as they do not have anything else to play for.FA Cup? NopeCL? NopeEuropa? NopeCarling Cup? NopeOh wait, they won the Community Shield!! Well, at least one trophy this year!

At least three key Man U squad members this season could qualify for discounts when eating at Denny's. Is it really a shock that they might not have the zip to compete in a bunch of competitions at once?

They've been doing it for years previous. Why now? Plus, they have 2 good, young strikers.

What's weird is that Liverpool seemed to be finding something with Carroll, Bellamy, and Kuyt in some kind of rotation. Then Suarez returned and angered Daglish with the handshake thing, but Daglish has re-inserted Suarez right back into the lineup as an autostart (and destroyed Carroll's mini-renassiance). Now, Suarez has looked dangerous. He always does, in spots but I still don't think that Liverpool works great as a team with him. And he produces a lot of "looks menacing, lacks end product" games.

He's not the biggest thing wrong with Liverpool. That's losing Lucas. And Downing and Henderson's form is probably number 2. But I still think Suarez might be bested suited to be big fish in a smaller pond.

Agree to disagree. He made comments about how Suarez needed to never play for Liverpool ever again, while having a history of not kicking off players who have disciplinary issues. Then, immediately have two players get in trouble for homophobic tweets. That's dictionary definition of a hypocrite.

Man U's spine is really, really thin. Thinner than in past years. Vidic hasn't played at all. Rio has played hurt and is the fast decline portion of his career. Fletcher (one of their most valuable players in big games where they needed an engine last year) is out indefinitely with colitis. Anderson has missed most of the year. Cleverly has missed significant time. Scholes (who tried to retire this season!) has played twice as much as he has in any recent season I can remember. Giggs has played more as well. Carrick has played more. United has had to rely on older, less dynamic players in midfield this year (or an out of position Phil Jones). Scholes and Giggs have responded in league play, but it's a bit much to expect them to be able to do it in game after game.

Man $ity are in a bad place now. They need 3 to win.

My boys stuck one in the net vs. Besiktas, which means that Besiktas need 3 more just to even it up.

I've felt like they have been on the verge of something like this for a couple of years but SAF has kept them going. They are still doing well in the league, but I think it has finally caught up with them a bit. I would expect them to spend big this summer.
