Hart misjudged that one, but I think Kompany was blocking his vision and he couldn't pick up the dip until it was too late.

This turned into one hell of a game.

To make things slightly worse for Man City, Robert Lewandowski scored in the 87th minute to give Dortmund a 1-0 home win over Ajax.

Dortmund at City on Oct. 3

So Ream hasn't even made the bench for the last two Bolton games. Anybody know a bit more about this?
Outside of very poor reviews from his two previous games I have not heard anything. I looked to see if he was hurt but did not find anything on a quick search. On a more positive note, Lichaj and Guzan both seem to be settling into Villa's lineup. Guzan got back to back starts when Given was healthy and he reportedly played well in both so we may be seeing a change of guard at Villa, which is very welcomed. Having one more top flight keeper in form reduces the enormous risk the US has with Howard getting injured.

I know this is :deadhorse: , but man I get so aggravated with coverage of the Champions League and the English favoritism.

Wednesday's tv coverage:

Fox Soccer + is showing the Manchester match live, at 5 they are showing the Chelsea match, at 9 the Manchester match again, at 11 the Barcelona match and at 4AM the Bayern match. By the way, I don't get this station!

Fox Socer is showing the Chelsea match live, at 5 they are showing the Chelsea match, at 1:30am Barcelona and at 4am Chelsea again.

The various miscellaneous Foxes are showing the Barcelona match live.

Fox Deportes is showing the Barcelona match live, at 5 Manchester, at 7 Chelsea and finally at 9 Bayern!

I mean, Bayern has only won the title 4 times and only been in the finals 9 times ... including 2 of the last 3. :wall:

If these listings are wrong and I can see Bayern before 9 and in English I would be thrilled to know about it.

You really should not get too frustrated by it, it is just a simple business decision. If Fox had only the Bundesliga as there only real viable domestic league I bet you would see plenty of German team coverage. But instead Fox is in bed with the EPL and it only stands to reason that they will tend to show more coverage of the EPL teams, on the whole, in international competition. To answer your last question, you can watch the Bayern game live, in English and in HD on channel 481 on Direct TV for free (assuming you have Direct TV) as part of their wide span coverage of the UCL.

Oh I get that it's a business decision, but it's still frustrating. When the matches were divided out and I saw that Bayern was playing the same days as ManUre, Chelsea and Barca I knew what I was in for. Fortunately Bayern usually advance far enough that when spring gets here they are still playing and are one of the only choices to show. Needless to say I will go media blackout until 9pm tonight. Now if I can just convince my coworker from Spain to watch with me and translate.

Terry Brown has been sacked as manager of AFC Wimbledon after a poor start to the season which has left the club fourth bottom of League Two.Brown, who guided the club into the Football League with three promotions in five years, bade an emotional farewell to supporters last night following the 1-0 home defeat by Torquay United, their sixth loss in seven matches.Brown waved to all four sides of their Kingsmeadow ground before heading to the dressing room, where the assistant manager Stuart Cash revealed he was in tears. Cash has also left the club, with Simon Bassey placed in caretaker charge. In a club statement, the chief executive, Erik Samuelson, said: "This is a terribly sad moment for all of us. Terry has been a wonderful manager and a fantastic ambassador for the club since we appointed him over five years ago.

Looks like Oscar gets a start in Chelsea's midfield today, with Ramires and Hazard, in favor of Mata or Bertrand. Torres still getting the love up front. Should be a good one. I love watching Andrea Pirlo play and am looking forward to seeing how RDM gameplans him. I'm out - go Chels.

Led to great exchange on the ESPN liveblog.James Tyler (I'm paraphrasing): A thing of beauty. A goal that would leave Ray Hudson speechless.

Online comment: Isn't the point with Ray Hudson that he's the opposite of speechless?

James Tyler: And that's how jokes work.

Looks like my experience coaching The Purple Twisters, a girls U7 team, is finally going to pay off. You haven't motivated and developed young players until you've broken them of the habit of stopping in the middle of the game to pinch you en masse.
