Tough to guess...when your team is rebuilding and they spend on 9M on a second keeper, it's a little puzzling. I think Rodgers really wanted Miggy, and possibly thought he wouldn't be available next season after the Barca keeper job opens up and Reina will likely be off. I guess I'd rather them get a guy too early rather than last minute(Carroll> hey).
Reina to Napoli on loan?

This makes sense. Offload some wage, Reina gets games until the Barca job opens up next season.

I don't think Barca's interested.

I'd be very surprised. I think they want someone who's simply younger and better than Reina.

:goodposting:

I think Reina's overrated, much to the tune of Liverpool's overblown reputation at this point.

Spanish radio rumor is Laudrup to Barca.

WTF knows at this point?
Laudrup is who I predicted, though as a player he did move from Barca to RM which is a HUGE no-no, so I wondered whether they'd forgive him for that. :bowtie:

BTW, if there was ever any better purveyor of killer-balls than Laudrup, I'd like to know who it is/was. Holy crap that guy was talented.

Hi guys, Plorfu from the wagering thread. Hope you're well. So, thinking about a Mexico/Panama parlay. Any chance anyone plays for a draw or gets upset here? Thanks in advance and if you ever need any banking compliance help, I'm here for you.

There are no draws in the knockout rounds. Neither of these games seem particularly ripe for an upset to me, but Cuba might be a little better than the record indicates. They played Costa Rica fairly even if you take out Cuba's atrocious goaltending, and they have one of the more exciting players in the tournament. Panama, meanwhile, was fortunate against Martinique.

I didn't think the Liverpool third kit could look worse....it looks worse on the players. Hooped socks? Lol
I like the money coming in from the Warrior deal, but the kits themselves have been awful, so far. :X
This season's home uni is awesome...don't see how they do so well with the home ones and so terrible on the others.

Thanks for the input! I'm going in.

Cuba is bad. I'm surprised the us couldn't score more against them. I guess that's how bad Shea is...
They are playing with 10 right now.
I was just coming in here to say how much Panama was really taking it to Cuba.

Who got sent off, and for what?
Forget which dude it was but it was a well deserved red with a karate kick to a Panamanian hip.
It was Martinez, who is also Cuba's best offensive player (he's the guy who beat Castillo for the assist in the US game and he had the hat trick against Belize). Cuba was awful after the penalty call. Just incredibly undisciplined and naive.

FYI, for gambool purposes, tourney games are almost always graded after 90 minutes.

Daughter sitting on my lap and I'm explaining the rules of soccer to her. She's really interested as to why the white team has a goalie who wears a blue shirt.

How do I delicately explain that Mexico are the bad guys without getting her in trouble at school?

I'm rooting for T&T to win, but I'm not sure that's the best result for the USMNT. Sure, it's always fun to see El Tri lose, but could a new coach actually get them to play less crappy?

Maybe it's the day drinking talking, but I love this thread and everyone in it.

WOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EFFIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bayern beat Hamburg 4-0 in a 60 min exhibition. Thiago looked really good. They did seem committed to play it out of the back no matter what, which isn't always the best idea.
