I'd really like to see Beckerman switch up play more. If he receives the ball from the right, it goes back to the right. He needs to be more aware of his teammates.

Did anyone catch the girl in the stands who had tattoos of these guys on her clavicles? ;lmao: :lmao:

Yeah, right when LD was getting things tossed at him. Couldn't tell who/what they were at the time though :lmao:
We need an official review. I saw them but didn't think they were tattoos.

It looks like the wings are tattoos but the faces are body paint.

Are you in any of the pics?

Also, what was the holdup in the corner? Did one of the ES fans throw a bottle at Landon?

Don't think I'm in the pics but haven't looked that closely. Several Salvadoran fans were throwing cups and bottles. Donovan must have said something to a group of scary dudes cursing at him b/c a Salvadoran player ran up to LD and screamed "wtf did you say?" Good times. In their defense, lots of other Salvadoran fans were trying to get the others to calm down.

I'm not sure I've seen a U.S. team create that many chances. The U.S. scored five on a night when they didn't really have their finishing boots. It could have been far, far worse.

When ES was pressing in the 4-3-3 at the start of the second half, I was muttering to myself about subbing in Shea and EJ and punishing them. And sure enough, that's exactly what they did. It completely opened the game up and gave the US backline a direct option. And that's why Shea is going to keep getting chances, because he can give a dimension that we don't really have that can solve some specific problems.

Jello Biafra has never sent an email before. True story.

Just saw that Thiago goal for Bayern..with hudson calling that game I'm shocked he didn't jizz in the studio.

So happy that nobody wants to play for Moyes and he went to Bayern, kid is a stallion.

Ancelotti saying he wants to keep Higuain, Higuain apparently prefers Arsenal to Napoli.
Yeah, the Mirror's going with that story, but they've been known to talk out of their ###. Supposedly, if Arsenal ponies up the 30M that Napoli is willing to pay, Higuain will go with them. Given that they're talking about a minimum of 40M for Suarez, I don't know how you say no to that deal for Higuain, especially when Higuain's personal terms were supposedly agreed upon weeks ago.

I was actually thinking they needed to bring in Holden. Beckerman was just getting sloppy with the ball and couldn't find a play out of the back. Plus, all game long he kept going up the right side. He's just not good enough. However, he did provide me with an intriguing thought towards the end of the game. I thought you're not supposed to get dreads wet, so how does he protect his hair in that weather?

PS - LD should have had 4 or 5 goals himself.

From what I've read, Chadli could be a very good acquisition for Spurs. They're going to make a strong run at top 4. Still plenty of time for Gunners to do something (other than Bernard) but I'd be nervous as a fan.

Certainly bad for Clint though, as he doesn't seem a great fit for a 4-3-3. Maybe they view him as a backup to Dembele. Spurs just need that one pure striker.

It's looking like Bernard to Arsenal may actually be true - I guess that Brazilian ESPN reporter knew what he was talking about. The medical for Bernard at Arsenal is supposedly on Friday.

It seems they're going to lose Soldado after missing on Benteke last week.

Bold EPL prediction time (my EPL predictions are always wrong, BTW). After a silly season where we all tear our hair out about Arsenal's pursuit of Higuain, Giroud will score more than 15 league goals (whether the Gunners land Gonzalo or not).

When Arsenal is bad, it's rarely (IMO) a problem with the finishing. It's a lack of ideas in the service. They were kind of the exact opposite of Chelsea, where Hazard and Mata seemed to always provide service, but Torres and Ba ran hot and cold. Considering that Arsenal was relying on Rosicky to be its creator for much of its strong finish last season, it's an area that needs improving. Possibly more than striker where both Giroud and Podolski can probably do the job when provided adequate service. So the Bernard move makes sense to me.

Good game from an excitement and goal scoring viewpoint. US should have had 7 on the night. I have a lot to write, but little time.

Suffice to say that I missed the 5th US goal because of a large fight involving a woman nearly getting pulled over the railing by her hair. Section 132.

Game versus Scotland a couple years back was pretty ridiculous too.
