When I hear "United" I wonder whether the person talking means Sheffield or Leeds.
ManUre is still acceptable though, right? No, it's don't call them ManU. It was used by some supporters from other teams after the Munich disaster to mock the team.I thought people had a problem calling Manchester United just "united". Isn't that a thing too?
If we're lucky, they'll all be playing each other in the same division soonWhen I hear "United" I wonder whether the person talking means Sheffield or Leeds.
Or S####horpeWhen I hear "United" I wonder whether the person talking means Sheffield or Leeds.
No matter how far down the table they fall, Leeds will always be the S.cu.m to me.When I hear "United" I wonder whether the person talking means Sheffield or Leeds.
I hope something bad happens to your face.If we're lucky, they'll all be playing each other in the same division soonWhen I hear "United" I wonder whether the person talking means Sheffield or Leeds.
I never knew this, and I think I've used ManU frequently online in the past, so will change my ways. No, it's don't call them ManU. I don't ever say anything because 1. I'm not an old school United fan so I don't really have any experience with it and 2. I don't think most fans even know so they don't mean anything by it.I never knew this, and I think I've used ManU frequently online in the past, so will change my ways. No, it's don't call them ManU. “Duncan Edwards is manure, rotting in his grave. Man you are manure, rotting in your grave,” so the song goes. Rival fans derived the derogatory “Man U” nickname from the song and began to use it as an insult.

Sweet Jesus - just showed this to my wife after my 10th time watching.
Me either... and I had it backwards, thinking United was the bad one and Man U was acceptable. Thanks for posting the bit about 'Man U' -- had no idea.
Time to channel the greatness of Benik Afobe.Jozy A = Carling Cup starter today.
Interesting to see Jonathan Spector on the bench for Birmingham City in that game. With Pogba, no doubt one of SAF's greatest mistakes.
"The plaintiffs seek no financial damages, but rather changes to the sports rules, from limits on headers for children to altering FIFAs substitution protocols"and so the concussion lawsuits against FIFA begin:

Not so fast my friend:Wilfried Zaha back to managerless Crystal Palace.
Neil Warnock has returned to Crystal Palace as manager to fill the vacancy created by the departure of Tony Pulis, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday.
Meh. I'm not calling them "United". There are other teams that can lay claim to that as well. And it sounds arrogant like THE Ohio State. You can't call them Manchester. ManU is just an abbreviation. It isn't even in that stupid song.Me either... and I had it backwards, thinking United was the bad one and Man U was acceptable. Thanks for posting the bit about 'Man U' -- had no idea.
It's like alumni weekend at Selhurst Park. Steve Coppell and Attilio Lombardo are next in line. Not so fast my friend:Wilfried Zaha back to managerless Crystal Palace.

I would prefer Arsenal to miss out on CL. They lose money if they miss out, which gives them less to spend on getting stronger, and players are less likely to go to them. Plus, as pointed out earlier in the thread, it means an extra £3m for the teams still in it.On the flip side of that coin, a win by arsenal means England has 4 teams competing in the CL which hopefully means they will keep the CL allocation spot (4 places)...So is the EPL like the SEC where you want the other EPL teams in the Champions League, and pull for them (EPL, EPL)...or do they all want the other EPL teams to lose?
I won't speak for the fans of other teams but there is a side benefit to having teams from your domestic league winning in Europe as it affects how many teams qualify for Europe each year.So is the EPL like the SEC where you want the other EPL teams in the Champions League, and pull for them (EPL, EPL)...or do they all want the other EPL teams to lose?
for those of us stuck at work, what happened?Jesus, Jack.
When was the last time a spot was lost/gained?I won't speak for the fans of other teams but there is a side benefit to having teams from your domestic league winning in Europe as it affects how many teams qualify for Europe each year.So is the EPL like the SEC where you want the other EPL teams in the Champions League, and pull for them (EPL, EPL)...or do they all want the other EPL teams to lose?

Russia reportedly passed France yesterday when Zenit won and Lille lost, meaning (if things stay the same, Russia 6th and France 7th) only the French champion will be entered in the CL group stage next season. I think its likely that PSG could keep Ligue 1 above Russia though if they advance, assuming Zenit don't shock the world under AVB's leadership.
