I have no real basis to say this but I get the feeling that the ever growing relationship between USL and MLS is going to slowly put the NASL out of business.

The combination of so many MLS 2 teams in USL and USL applying for Div 2 status makes me feel like they have a specific end game in mind.

I haven't listened yet, but the Soccer Morning podcast had NASL commish Bill Peterson as a guest today and has USL prez Tim Holt scheduled tomorrow.

I think Peterson is praying for an MLS work stoppage and it looks like he might get his wish.

Memo to my fellow Arsenal fans, when a player has been with Spurs since he was 11, it's really not that damning that he was with your youth program when he was 8. I think they still get to claim him as one of their own.

Just like that, and Arsenal are back on top of Spurs in the table. Shaping up to be a great finish at top and bottom again this season.

Damn, great game, and must've been entertaining for people not invested in either team. Obviously very happy with the result, but probably took 5 years off my life

yeah- was coming in to post that two teams scraped their way out of the bottom three with wins today.

going to be a lot of nailbiting up and down the table heading into the back stretch.

Mario bout to bust another infamous 2nd half of season romp
that would be interesting if Mario finally came into form... interesting and scary as #### for the rest of the EPL, with Sturridge finally back.
Flashback to when he arrived at MIlan in January from City. Popped something like 14goals and got us back into Champions League, singlehandedly.

Seems he's being properly managed at Pool. This goal may spark the fire.

Properly managed, yes - or is it perhaps more about the moustache?

and now all we need is Chelsea to stumble a bit too... just to make it more interesting at the top (not that I see that happening).

It was a glorious tash

I think Chelsea have some depth issues and could easily stumble. It will be interesting once the CL starts up again. Honestly I'm happy they bowed out of the FA Cup so early. My son and I are now Bradford City fans, at least for that tournament. Love playing with Stead on the FIFA.

That run (which included several PKs) is really the only extended goal scoring run that Mario has ever delivered. He's scored 91 goals in 240 career appearances. It's hard to see Liverpool sitting a healthy D-Studge or Sterling for him (or playing two strikers from the jump), so I imagine he'll continue to come off the bench. Maybe he'll become Pool's Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

I don't think he fits into Liverpool's system. Personally, I think it was a bit of a lucky goal, but hey at least he was running into the far post where a cross could actually hit him. For the first few months he camped out in the middle like Shaquille O'Neal in the lane, took long passes and blasted them over the goal.

There are systems for Balotelli, I just don't see how he fits into Liverpool's on a regular basis. I just hope he can show enough promise that Liverpool can sell him in the summer and not lose too much money. Anything else is icing on the cake.

Jesus, Sakho is atrocious.
He's been very good this year. That slip was disastrous though.
In what parallel universe? Better than Lovren isn't "very good."
I'm quite untrained, so I won't argue the point. On most Liverpool message boards, they all seem to think he's been playing great. He has looked great to me, personally. But that was a bad mistake today.
I thought him keeping Dembele onside for the pass leading up to his goal was a worse mistake. People slip... *cough* *gerard*... it happens- and tough to blame somebody for it. not holding the line for offsides is much more of a

He appeared to slip because he was startled to see that Kane had moved onto his back shoulder. Kind of like turning around and seeing a ghost. Its possible that Can never gave him a shout when he switched off, I suppose. But he seemed beaten to me before he slipped.

He's also been pretty much a consistent horror show playing the ball out of the back all season.

fair enough- he did lose Kane in that crucial moment.

he had a play last game against Everton where he nonchalantly started to try to dribble by two guys out of the back... as the last man. I'm sure all Liverpool fans were ####ting the collective bed- it was almost comical (especially with the wolf vid in my head)... but he somehow got out of it. but prior to Everton, he seemed to have a good run of games, playing simply and effectively. at least IIRC.

You know that Sakho isn't Aly Cissokho, right? Aly has played (decently, if not incredibly) for West Ham this year.

they are the same person, stupid.

:bag:

I mixed up the video, not Sakho's performance in red.

The run of clean sheets and improved defense is not a coincidence with Sakho's emergence into the line-up.

He is awkward even when doing things well. So that always leads to people thinking he's out of his depth. Love his hard passes and forward thinking.

"Why is he trying to play out of trouble???" Or "man, he's confident and calm on the ball"

Fact, defense had improved since he's been in. He's far closer to playing well than he is to being atrocious

This is just mind boggling. This is from the official twitter feed of Accrington Stanley.

@ASFCofficial: The Prem Lge has a new £5bn TV deal. £10m per match. 1 game would pay our annual wage bill for the next 20 years
