With Man City out of all competitions besides the EPL, what are the chances Lampard gets released early to NYCFC?
slim to none I would think. They are 2 points out of 4th and 6 plus a game out of 1st. With United, Tottenham, Southampton all on the schedule I doubt they let him go.

exactly.

plus, he hasn't gotten injured yet- they MC have to schedule games to fit that in there.
was only asking because stories like these are popping up all over the place

Frank Lampard could leave Manchester City this month

If I were the Manager, there's no way I'd let him go. He's registered for the second half of the season, and at the minimum he's another warm body that can play. You have to keep him until the season is over.

What a stressful game, even with Gerrard being sent off. Gerrard probably wishes his first foul on Mata would have been called but then he gets red for stomping Herrera. Anyone see why Herrera saw yellow on that? He never touched stevie.

Jones could have seen red but also so could have Balotelli and Skrtl. Balotelli for the intentional cleats down jones' calf with a finger pointing in his face, then grabbing Smallings leg after their tangle up. Smartly the fans held him back. Skrtl for the stomp on de Gea.

Not sure why anyone thinks Rooney deserved anything. Skrtl pushed him over and into the keeper.

Nice goal by Sturridge and Mata was amazing. Rooney got stoned by Mignolet on the PK. Nice read/save.

WTF was ADM doing catching the ball in bounds? Is he THAT out of sorts?

Even with 10 men, Pool looked dangerous and like they could sneak one in. Not sure why you count them out of top 4.

United remaining: Villa (h), City (h), Chelsea (a), Everton (a), West Brom (h), Palace (a), Arsenal (h), Hull (a)

Liverpool remaining: Arsenal (a), Blackburn (a), Newcastle (h), Hull (a), WBA (a), QPR (h), Chelsea (a), Palace (h), Stoke (a)

United with Chelsea, City and Arsenal

Pool with Arsenal and Chelsea
United have two of those games at home, a 5-point lead, and a +13 goal differential. They are a much better team now than they were at the beginning of the season. They will not be competing for titles anytime soon, but they are going to be very difficult to catch for top-4.
True, they are finding form after winning without it so hopefully it keeps going. Arent in the title race this year but if this continues they will be next year.

8 games to go. 5 up on Liverpool, 6 on Tottenham and Southampton. 1 behind Arsenal, 2 behind City. 8 plus a game behind Chelsea
LFC will also be hurt by the Stevie G suspension.
They's looked better without him :scared:
Sarcasm, my good man. But you will likely miss Skittles a bit ...

http://www.foxsports.com/soccer/story/liverpool-fa-charges-martin-skrtel-after-alleged-stamp-on-david-de-gea-032315

The Football Association has charged Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel with violent conduct following his clash with Manchester Unitedgoalkeeper David de Gea during Sunday's Barclays Premier League match.

Skrtel appeared to step on the Spaniard in the 95th minute of the match at Anfield, which Liverpool lost 2-1.

The FA said in a statement the incident was not seen by the officials, but was caught on video.

The Slovakian has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond to the charge.

If he were found guilty Skrtel would face a three-match ban, ruling him out of the Premier League matches against Arsenal and Newcastle and the FA Cup quarter-final replay at Blackburn.

I don't think it's confidence. I think it was simply poor finishing and lack of focus on his part.

Bale is having a not so awesome year, but he still brings quality. His play has been overshadowed, and other La Liga talents are putting their mark on this season (see Messi, Neymar, CRonaldo, Rakatic, Griezmann)

I fully expect United to blow the doors off the transfer record to try and get him this summer.
And then Real will have to turn that and spend it plus another $50+mil on a couple other players. Wonder who they go after. If they come away with no trophies this year they will look very different next year.

I think that they are locked in a bit wither their attacking players (except Benzema, who is really good but not the "best in the world"). They should have made a move for Suárez in the summer really.

To be fair, Real splurges on attacking players without much regard as to how they'll fit in to the attack. Perez basically admitted as much when they signed Rodriguez this summer.

Jese got his car attacked too.

The British Transport Police said since 2012 it had dealt with 15 incidents of alleged racism involving Chelsea fans, the most of any club in the country.

Manchester United were second with 10 incidents, followed by Leeds with 10, West Ham with eight, Arsenal with four and Portsmouth with four.

It would have been awesome if arsenal were fourth here too....damn you west ham

Leeds

I actually didn't expect Chelsea to have a racist fan base. They play in a pretty well-off part of London.

This is just Chelsea racism on trains. The fans who live in West London don't have to take trains to get to the stadium, so most of their racism is in taxis and on the sidewalks along Fulham road.

I think RHE mentioned the dearth of goals/excitement from MLS over the weekend... just watched the goals of the week on ESPN.com- woof.

@FOXSoccer: Attention, @MLS fans! @FOXSports1 will air tomorrow's MLS news conference LIVE from Target Field in Minneapolis at noon ET!

The back story to this bid is fun and a bit ugly between Minnesota United and the Vikings

http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/2015/03/24/Facilities/Minnesota-MLS.aspx

". . . the McGuire group has a powerful enemy and that’s the Vikings. Pre-emptively, the Vikings folks spent weeks twisting arms at the Legislature to speak out against a soccer-specific stadium. The idea was that, thus discouraged, the MLS would zero in on awarding the expansion franchise to the Wilfs and it would play in the new dome.

The Vikings have no more loyal pal at the Legislature than Tom Bakk, and he also happens to be the Senate Majority Leader. Bakk has been so willing to do the bidding of the Vikings and the Wilfs that he called up Don Garber, the MLS Commissioner, and said the McGuire group would not receive a dime’s worth of assistance from the state.

Bakk has done a fine job making this sound as if he’s protecting the taxpayers, but the folks he’s really been trying to protect are the real estate developers from New Jersey. They own the Vikings and soon will have an almost-free (when you subtract NFL money, naming rights and seat licenses from their investment) palace that will instantly make their franchise worth four times more than $600 million that they paid for it.

Press Conference:

Stoner looks drunk again

A Landon sighting

Garber laying it on way too thick

Dr Bill McGuire was a second away from a full emotional break down when he took the podium, but recovered barely

Team will start in 2018, focusing on Farmers Market area for stadium

I am starting to think this is the beginning of the end for the NASL.

Minnesota is gone

The Atlanta team will likely fold/move once the Atlanta MLS team starts in 2017

Both Indy and San Antonio are aggressively pursuing jumping to MLS

The USL has started the process to move up to Division 2 with an obvious connection with MLS

I feel like the best course of action for all might be for the NASL and the USL to merge as a new division 2 league.

I'm sure there are reasons why this is never, ever, ever going to happen... but yeah- makes sense.

Merge might be a poor word. I just expect that USL will absorb what ever NASL teams are left in a few years.

Frasier Forster out for maybe a year with a torn patellar tendon. You know, it was just about a year ago that Jay Rodriguez went down with nobody else within five yards of him.

How about that backup keeper at Chelski, the one with the weird headgear? He looking for work?

Does that move Coddy Cropper up to the bench?

He's one of two names being tossed around, at least to finish out the season. They can also recall the lovably klutzy Artur Boruc back from loan this summer. For obvious homer reasons, it would be cool to see Cody move up.
