We bought a 5 game plan and chose games against NYRB, Toronto, Colorado, Seattle, and Portland. :towelwave:
That is a really nice group!  If things work out perfectly for injuries and availability, your kids can see Howard, Dempsey, Morris, Jozy, Bradley, Nagbe, and Sacha among-st others.  Very cool!

So they're definitely throttling the full season tickets... The partial game packages are out now and I'm showing seats available for the partial that aren't available for the full.

The kids are especially excited to see the USMNT boys.

Ned, out of interest, what did the 5 pack cost per person?  I have never been to the stadium but from the layout it looks to not have a bad seat in the house.

$257/person got us midfield, 27 rows up.  Fantastic view and will be protected by the overhang if it rains.

I only have experience with tiny local soccer stands and Talon Energy - I think its a fantastic venue (outside of it being in a pretty slummy area).

50/game/person... in perfect seats. wow-nice work!

Are these guys in China sure they're actually going to get paid? Didn't a few ( I want to say one of them was anelka) get stiffed a few years ago?

Money v ambition is a tough call.  China understands that to get them to leave the world of European football, the Champions League, that they have to pay out the wazoo.

Who of us wouldn't at least turn our heads at a job offer from China if it was 4 times what we make now.

But you don't hear about guys after they go to China.  No one takes that league seriously, so it's a tough call.

Costa is at a point where he could help win a 2nd EPL title in 3 years for Chelsea and help them make a run at the CL next year.  To throw it all away would be tough, but 600k/week...That's Lebron money.

Yeah i can't see you could possible take it seriously. (The league, not the money) Basketball is a sport that the Chinese actually care about...and Stephon Marbury went over there and dominated when he was pushing 40. He's basically a god to them.

Soccer doesn't lend itself to that level of individual domination, but still...

Native, how do the best players in collegiate soccer transition to the MLS?  Does it take a few years?  Do young players have the option of coming up through youth programs or going the college route and getting drafted?

There are 3 routes

1) Academy to full team

2) Academy to college to full team

3) College to what ever team drafts them

There is a rare 4th route where a player comes through an academy, goes to college but the team that he went to the academy with does not want him, and he will then enter the draft.

As for how long it takes, it varies per player.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did I just hear correctly that Garber actually listed the exact allocation money in the trade between NYC and Chicago??

That is fantastic.  It creates a significantly more transparent system.

yup not a mistake.  Garber announced the exact amount in the second trade of the day.

It is about time.  keeping this stuff secret never made any sense to me.

yes that did happen but I believe it was before the Government started funding the league.  I have not heard of a player not getting paid since Anelka.

NYCFC splashing around the GAM money with $75K for the 16th pick.

Interestingly, this is apparently $325K or the GAM money they got for selling Poku where they also gave up this same pick.  So essentially it's they got the third pick and some extra GAM money for Poku.

He is also a god on my old NBA Street. I'd get the full power up bar with one coast-to-coast run and dunk.

@realdonaldtrump

China is not our friend. They are not our ally. They want to overtake us, and if we don’t get smart and tough soon, they will.
Congratulations Cletius.  You found somebody I like even less than Diego Costa.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
When the news first came out, the Chelsea boards were certain this was just a sensationalist story attempting to stir something up. Im not so sure though....

The Fire got infinitely better last night when they drafted University of Delaware's Delgado last night with the 27th pick.

Maybe not today, but they'd miss him for sure.  He's a complete ****, but he's been the best player in the Prem over the entirety of the season so far IMO.  A guy who can run up top by himself and score goals that win you games 1-0 is worth a goldmine.

Speaking of best players in the Prem, the problem with Liverpool right now is they don't have depth behind the quartet of Firmino, Coutinho, Mane and Lallana.  The team is based on the interplay between the four of them and when one or two are missing the whole machine breaks down.  Think they need a couple other players in the same mold.
