It was great to see Zlatan get that game-winner out of respect for Sweden.  In times like this, football doesn't matter and we can all get behind him and appreciate what he did as a gesture for his country.

MLS has been using video ref assistants (var) this preseason with an eye towards using it in the second half of the 2017 season. I'm all for it... if it doesn't screw up game flow.

Rather than the standard minute's silence, Warnock said he would much prefer a chorus of boos to ring out across the land instead.

"When I pass away, I don't want any silence or clapping -- just a minute's booing at clubs that hated me," Warnock quipped.

Millwall has now beaten three consecutive Premier League teams, with some classic Millwall ugliness in the second against Watford. Its probably less than an hour from Millwall to White Hart Lane - not an easy day.
The draw for the last eight has rekindled memories of the last time Spurs met Millwall in a pre-season ‘friendly’ in 2001, when the two sets of fans fought running battles.

Other than violence erupting before and after the game at the New Den, there were reports of a group of Tottenham fans attacking the Caulkers Pub in Bermondsey. It was claimed that 30 police officers and three police horses were injured during the day, with one man being taken to hospital with knife wounds.

Some of the violent scenes can be witnessed on YouTube, with one comment reading: “Ever since that day every cup draw been wanting Tottenham away.”

The FA is well aware of the history between the clubs and will be involved in talks over the kick-off time with the Metropolitan Police, Tottenham, Millwall and, if the tie is picked for television, broadcasters.

FA Cup rules allow for an away allocation of up to 15 per cent of the home stadium, although that number is subject to approval from the local Safety Advisory Group, which is made up of the police, council, fire brigade and club.

Because of the work on the new stadium, the capacity of White Hart Lane has been reduced to 31,500 this season, which could also have an impact on the number of tickets allocated to Millwall.

The tie is likely to be the last-ever FA Cup game at White Hart Lane, as the semi-finals and final are staged at Wembley and Spurs are due to move into the national stadium for all games next season while their new home is finished.

Should be a smashing tie... :oldunsure:

Seems Red Bull may be angering their own fans in multiple countries soon.  I am reading reports that UEFA will only allow one Red Bull club into Champions League next season - under a rule that prohibits an owner from having two teams in the same competition.

Red Bull Salzburg sit first in the Austrian Bundesliga, while Red Bull Leipzig are second in Bundesliga - it will be interesting to see if Red Bull can get around the common ownership issue, or if they have to choose one team to compete - sending the other to Europa.

WWJD: What Would @Jaysus Do?

I saw an interesting rumor on reddit.

It sounds like UEFA is considering only allowing one Red Bull owned team into next years UCL.  Right now both Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig both have a chance to qualify.

How would that work if the Champions League team gets knocked out of CL and is suppose to jump in to Europa?

Carolina Challenge Cup, night two:

Charleston 1-1 Columbus
Atlanta 4-2 Seattle

Columbus 1-1-0 4 3-2 +1
Atlanta 1-0-1 3 5-4 +1
Charleston 0-2-0 2 2-2 0
Seattle 0-1-1 1 3-5 -2

Atlanta v Charleston and Seattle v Columbus on Saturday.

Looks like Atlanta beat Seattle last night pretty badly.

So I'm considering buying the MLS package this year.  Looks like I can pay 69 bucks and get all of Atlanta's games or 79 bucks and get all the games.*

I'm pretty excited to root for an MLS team and Atlanta looks like an ambitious ownership group, is within 3.5 hours of my house and has some exciting young talent.  Checks all the boxes.

*BTW, Europe is SO behind the times here.  If they released that kind of package worldwide, you have to imagine they'd make an absolute killing.  So many people don't want to illegally stream games, they'd love to legally watch them in HD

   I'm never sure if you are kidding or not.

Premier league sold their tv rights for 1.22 billion per year, it's the second highest sports league contract out there.

I thought he was talking about streaming specfically.  Does the EPL have a stand alone streaming package for cord cutters?

you can watch all the games on fubotv app or pay for the sling tv app and get all but like 1 or 2 games a weekend. I cut the cord and use the sling tv app now and it has worked great for me.

There is one thing I never understood with Sling and PsVue.  How do you access the NBC Extra games?  Is there an NBC Sports Extra app you can download on your device (Roku, Amazon Fire etc) and access via your sling subscription?

I've been meaning to try it out.  I want to call Directv and put my account on hold for a month and see how this works.  I'd imagine you just put in your TV login info into nbc extra.

The reason I asked because when I looked into this last summer, you could not use your Sling credentials to log into the NBC Sports App, but that certainly may have changed since this stuff moves quickly.

I think you can log in with PS Vue though if memory serves.

the sling app on my fire stick has a separate tab for each channel. on game day I go to the nbcsn tab and then select the game I want   I can take pictures of it when I get home.

Yes - there is a separate NBC Sports app. I have it on my Amazon Fire and iPad.  I get access using my PSVue login.  The nice thing about the app is they keep games for a while, so you can watch them whenever without using or setting a dvr. Also, there's the highlight shows, and the Rubgy

Hi,

I've created a league in MLS Fantasy Soccer Manager called FBG.

Joining the league couldn't be easier. Simply use this link and you'll be added automatically after you've entered the game:

http://fantasy.mlssoccer.com/?autojoin-code=10855-2127.

You shouldn't need the league code, but just in case here it is: 10855-2127.

Enjoy the game!
Jaysus (from the internet)
you would think as much as I know about MLS I would be halfway good at this but I suck.

Still, I am in!  Thanks for setting up.  Should be plenty of time by next Friday to put in another bad entry :)
