“Again, this was BEFORE we were held goalless at home to Lorient. 100%. Can’t prove otherwise. Go ahead, try.”

Brighton bought Moises Caicedo in 2021 for £4.5m. Sold him to Chelsea for £115m in 2023
Benfica bought Enzo Fernández for €10M in 2022. Sold him to Chelsea for £105M in 2023.

Dang

Bummed I already had a work trip booked and can't go to Union vs Messi.
When he was going to sign with MLS, I immediately looked for the next Miami game in Philly and there was one but it was before he joined the team.

A GB's son is part of a youth club associated with the Union... they got an email from the club prior to the quarterfinal giving them early access to semi final tickets should the Union advance - the cheapest tickets they were offered at the time were $375 each. Hard Pass.

Some of the perks Neymar will experience because of his move to Saudi Arabia:

🛩️ A private plane at his disposal
🏠 A huge house with staff
💰€80,000 bonus for every Al-Hilal win
📱 €500,000 for every post or story he puts on his social media that promotes Saudi Arabia

Seriously?! If that were the case for me, I'd be posting about Saudi Arabia every 10 minutes.

"You guys really should check it out!!!"

Boom another half mil.

Yeah... That's the part of that story that seems highly unlikely.

The linked test is gone.

Early reports that KDB is out 3-4 months. Same hamstring he's hurt before (from memory). Seems almost chronic at this point.

Could make for some interesting days in the end of the transfer window if City needs cover for KDB.

Meh, they just give Grealish, Bernardo, Foden, Palmer, McAtee etc more minutes. It's literally their strongest position on the park

No clause saying he gets time off for his sister's bday meaning he still has to claim "injury" to go? THAT seems more unlikely.

WHU reportedly submitted a bid of 60m total for Maguire and McTominay. 30m each.

Please take it United!

They took it, but Harry loves it too much at ManU and is going to stick around.

Fabs: Harry Maguire’s move to West Ham now OFF 🚨🔴⛔️ #MUFC

“Harry respects West Ham — but there was never an agreement on personal terms”, sources close to Maguire say.

“Harry remains settled at United, loves the club and believes he will get plenty of opportunities to play”.

Sadly the reports are that he wants a 15m payout since he agreed to lower wages with WHU than he has at United and would be losing that much over the next 2 years of his contract. United offered 9m. So now WHU is tired of waiting, United doesn't want to give half the fee to Maguire in a payout, and Maguire is happy to sit on the bench and watch Lindelof and Shaw play more CB then he will. Reportedly he was even going to be captain at WHU?? Its such a bad situation for all parties involved. At some point Southgate isn't going to play him either....

He’s really going to take this stance over 6m? That seems nuts.

I agree with you. But to be fair its "reportedly" and who knows how credible. He is also supposedly upset at "how the club has treated him" (sitting, no longer captain, etc) but that's not enough to move away and play?

Maybe he's just pissed the Saudi's dont want him?

If they need to funds to get a replacement (FFP, Glazers, etc) and already value him higher as it is (which no one is going to pay), why would you give him more than he worth to go away?

Good point. But then again - they can just let him sit and use him as a body

Miami is rolling. Up 3-0 at halftime.

While they still have not played an MLS game yet, it seems like destiny that they are about to have the biggest turn around mid season in MLS history.
I mean, I haven't watched Miami, but watching them this tournament, I can't imagine that it's not a complete night/day turnaround. They look like a solid/cohesive/dangerous team.

Amazing what the addition of guys like Messi/Busquets can do to an entire team.

Messi, Busquets, Alba and 3 top U22 talents all got added at the same time. It clearly has awoken very good players like Josef Martinez who had lost interest before these additions.

The most amazing turn around has to be Robert Taylor who was the epitome of an average MLS player before this and now looks like friggan prime age Bale.

Andre Blake had poor timing for one of the worst performances of his career

Tom Bogert

@tombogert

In the 80th minute, the xG for this game is: Philadelphia Union 2.32 - 0.46 Miami.
Philly out shooting Miami 16-3.
Miami scored on each of their shots so far.
Game states obviously play a part here, but so does bad goalkeeping bad finishing.

Yeah. That Messi goal was cool, but any half decent keeping job saves that easily. Blake NOT putting his best foot forward in this game.

Miami has now qualified for the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Oh please god let Miami have a game in Central America....one of those small countries may come to a halt if Messi comes to play...

Miami vs Nashville in the Leagues Cup Final (I believe Nashville hosts)

Philly vs Monterrey in the 3rd place game (winner of this game qualifies for the 2024 Champions Cup).

Here is the reverse angle. He was not even thinking shot as he was just shuttling himself back to the middle of the goal going in the opposite direction of the shot. Very poor GKing by a very good GKer.

yeah... he was shuttling back in anticpation of whatever came next... but shuttled too far to his right.

I wonder- did Messi see that and pick and hit the far corner? or was he always thinking shot and just drove it low and hard far corner? outcome the same either way, but I wouldn't doubt that Messi has the ability to notice stuff like the GK back peddling (feet not set) and just off with their angles.

One thing the reverse angle made me appreciate more than the normal TV angle was the power of the shot. It got to that corner pretty quick for hitting the ground first.

What a roller coaster this Mason Greenwood saga has been. The Athletic is now reporting Manchester United have made the decision to bring him back into the team full time.

And for what it’s worth, United is denying the Athletic report.

Could be they are continuing to float the possibility to see exactly how much pushback they get.

Ignoring the controversy for a minute, United could use some cover for Garnacho, Antony and Sancho

Just such a tough spot. At the end of the day, we all pretty much know what happened there (just based on the tape and subsequent events).

The girlfriend forgave him (I guess) and the charges were dropped (we know why). But he's almost certainly a terrible guy who is only potentially getting another chance because he can put the ball in the net.

Just a horrible situation all around.

Agreed.

It's always about being skillful enough for the team to put up with the circus. This is made worse by the mysterious dropping of the charges instead of being found innocent.

It's more than just PR too. The United Women's team may have some issue and they could lose players or make it hard to recruit.

I thought the best option was to send him out on loan. Jose at Roma were interested at one point. Gets him out of England where he can play and would probably minimize the PR fallout. Bring him back next year.

I am not sure how I feel about him coming back. He was not found guilty but also not innocent. And players do deserve a chance in most cases.

Right or wrong.....everyone is going to assume that the girlfriend only took him back and declined to testify because she'd rather be the wife of a rich footballer than not. (Not because he didn't do something very wrong). And now they have a kid.

At the end of the day, it her choice and she is the one who has to live with it.

Not the first woman to make that choice and won't be the last.

Well said. And now United has a choice.

And once he starts banging in the goals, no one will remember.
