I'm sure soccer enthusiasts hate even the mention of "instant replay", and I agree that it's something not needed in soccer...usually.

But the ONE exception is that of the red card. To me, it throws the competitive balance of a game too dramatically to allow one ref to decide that one team is going to be down a man the entire rest of the game. At the very least, you could have a group of 2-3 officials sitting in an office, waiting for the call, and taking 30 seconds to analyze it.

Or if you don't want to disrupt the game, borrow from soccer and institute a "penalty area" for redcards where the guy goes out for 5 minutes and the red card is reviewed by higher ups and decided on within 5 minutes.

To me, it's the most serious penalty in all of sports, and I'm personally not a big fan of letting the refs blow it.

It will be even better when they can not retroactively suspend Costa because the ref said he saw it and decided not to do anything despite the TV replays showing his back was turned and there is no way he could have seen it.

Woohoo!

Also, that Silva PK reminded me exactly of the one Kluivert gifted Liverpool several years ago. Just dumbness beyond belief.

Well that sucked. But honestly Chelsea didnt deserve it. Up a man at home, Zalatan off, they shouldve put this one away early. Congrats to all the PSG fans on the bored

We are all PSG fans today.

I was only in and out on the game. I missed the Ibra card. Need to find a gif of that. Any chance it gets reduced, or is he for sure out of the next round?

So the next round will have:

PSG -Ibra

Monaco (trying for the reverse jinx here)

Porto

I which ones of Real, Bayern, and Barça will draw each other. No way they all get the others.

Porto-Monaco would be really cool. I've have really loved playing with Porto in Fifa the past few months.

Hopefully Atlético is in the mix there too, Sebo. I guess Real would want to right the ship and Barça has had their number this year, but I think both those teams would prefer a Porto over yet another running street battle with los rojiblancos. For real though, Simeone needs to reel them in a bit, especially Raúl García who might be one of the nastiest players in the game right now not named Diego Costa. Oh, and without the off the ball pushing and acting like a ####.

I don't know what UEFA history is on rescinding cards, but it was a really bad call.
