TV production quality is only part of it.

Liga MX telecasts are bottom of the barrel for production quality compared to say EPL or MLS games here in the US and yet they pull great ratings.  Their top games can draw 4 times as many US viewers as the top EPL games.
This is why NBCSN is trying to get Kyle Martino to dress like this for next season.

Damn, it wasn't very funny to begin with ...

Interesting Ligue 1 stat I've posted on before - the second place team (now Monaco), is closer to relegation than they are to PSG.  PSG's gd is now +62.

I think Cletius' joke was that PSG is so far ahead in France that they can clinch next season this week

totally misread that.    :wall:  Had I not  :whoosh: I may have  :lmao:

The reason that EPL is more exciting has to do with a) announcers in English, b) better press coverage outside of games, c) better production values in the show, and d) more cultural affinity / allegiance with the British.

Basically, marketing.
Those reasons certainly count with me. I can't get BeIN in high def, so that really lessens the enjoyment of games in Spain, Italy and France. I don't know the Bundesliga players well enough yet, Fox's production quality doesn't seem to be at a level with NBC's, and the language barrier is a problem when I want to learn more. So that leaves PL where I can at least gorge myself on lots of Southampton news and watch all their games.

If Fox and Comcast can improve on some of those problems, I'd like very much to dive into the other leagues with more gusto.

It would just like to note for the record that Brek Shea has a new hairstyle that is part man-bun and part ponytail and it is spectacular.

I watch the PL because I lived there. So you guys can take your opinions and stick them where the sun don't shine.

Well, well, well,...here we are again, Floppo.  AS Roma-Internazionale @ 3:45 EST.  The Romans vs the Non-Italians...Where's your Fat Ronaldo now?  Non c'e trippa per la gatta!

Is there anyone outside of North London who's not pulling for Leicester at this point?
If they grab the 3 points on the road today, they are going to be in an excellent position.

4 of the next 6 games are at home and they don't face a current top 4 team the rest of the way.

What odds could you have gotten at the start of the season that neither of the Manchester clubs or Chelsea would be top-4.  And that neither of the Liverpool clubs would be among the teams bumping them out.

As of this minute it's Leicester and three from London.

I think Leicester now needs 17 out of their last 21 possible points to secure the title, no matter what any other team does.  For every point Spurs drop, this 17 point number will drop in sync.

Edin Dzeko has become a comical farce...his misses are unbelievable, and then he actually jumps to block SALAH!'s potential game winner.  He makes me cry.  Who's in the market for a non-ball-playing CB who excels at heading balls AWAY from goal?

Huge fan of his gamr yesterday

The best is, he scuffed his shot so bad that it turned into an "assist" for Nainggolan;  even Inter's GK ( who was phenomenal again) couldn't anticipate such ineptitude.

Well this sounds awesome...

Authorities in Qatar are reportedly looking to house tourists in desert camps during the FIFA 2022 World Cup to make up for an expected hotel shortfall.Doha News cites Oxford Economics director David Goodger as saying the country was unlikely to meet a FIFA target of 60,000 rooms for the tournament, and could fall 14,000 short.

Skrtel on for less than four minutes before giving up a pen for shirt pulling/holding in the box.  Arguably a makeup call for the missed PK in the first half, but not a good look given how strong Lovren and Sakho have been.

They look like a completely different team with Skrtel on the field.  It's hard to blame him for all the chances, but the chances sure did seem to pile up after he came on.

Gigi Buffon's Serie A record of 975 straight minutes without conceding comes to an end, via a Torino penalty.  Classy as they come.

Yedlin absolutely dominated by Mitrovic on the back post on that Newcastle equalizer (or do I need to post this in the USMNT thread??).

Well, that was an unexpected three points, especially after the first half performance. Europa hangover for Liverpool or just Skittles being awful?

Bein should let someone else have the La Liga rights if they are only going to show half of #1 vs #4 and rugby instead of Atletico yesterday.  Or get another channel.

At least the fixed their ####ed-up HD signal though.

Mathieu is an absolute disaster.  He's been on for 8 minutes with shambolic defending and an own goal.  Barcelona needs to take advantage of Atletico's drop
