"Other than that, they're all making tea, that mob."
Noel is apparently going to be in the Sky studios with Gnev and Carra for the game. Really wish I could see that.
as quoted by Oliver Kay (https://twitter.com/OliverKayTimes/status/939071459938504704):Can't believe we're not having fun with CR7's characteristic modesty at winning the Ballon d'Or again.
Its like Zlatan without the funny (and with a strangely perplexing double negative.)“I don’t see anyone better than me. No player does things that I cannot do myself, but I see things others can’t do. There’s no more complete player than me. I’m the best player in history — in the good and the bad moments”
yowza. I knew something was coming but that was more than I expected.MLS adds 2.8 million to tha TAM budgets to get to 4 million per team in 2018 and '19
Any concerns as to his personality were quickly eased, though, with United’s staff learning that the 36-year-old is a likeable character and true professional behind the bravado and showmanship. Its like Zlatan without the funny (and with a strangely perplexing double negative.)
They can also bring forward 1.2 million from 2019 into '18. So basically teams will pay down their lower cost DPs to the league max and sign more DPs. So for instance, NYCFC can now use 1.5 million of the 2.8 and buy down Moralez for 1.5 million and have room to sign 2 DPs. Atlanta can do something similar.yowza. we are the point now that claiming any sort of parity in the league is completely gone. They can also bring forward 1.2 million from 2019 into '18. Totally agree...Toronto and NYCFC are both going to have 20 million dollar plus wage bills next year (it makes rumors like Yaya more believable).we are the point now that claiming any sort of parity in the league is completely gone.
The difference between the high spending teams and the low spending teams is going to widen even more.
I know the league loves to claim the salary cap is for parity but it is clear that the cap is there for nothing more than to make sure they never pay a lot of money for the run of the mill player.
I think I used to make the point in here that he was one of hte best foreign signings ever. redstarbull legend.LAFC have signed Juan Pablo Angel to be a Technical Consultant.
He was a fantastic player in the league for many years.
Ronaldo is a megalomaniac.
"No other player has won as many individual trophies as me. And I'm not only talking here about the Ballon d'Or. That says something, no? It's not only the work that I'm doing in the gym, like people think. It's a combination of many things. Legends like Floyd Mayweather or LeBron James, they didn't get to this level of perfection by chance. It must be many factors coming together. To be at the top and stay there, you must always have more talent than others.
You know, I respect everyone's preferences. But I don't see anyone better than me. I always thought that. No other footballer does things that I am not capable of doing myself. But I see that I do things that others can't do. There's no player more complete than me. I play well with two feet, I'm fast, powerful, good with headers, I score goals, I deliver assists.
People have the right to prefer Neymar or Messi. But I insist: There is no one more complete than me.You will go and say that I have a big head, but when you're at the top, it's normal that you're criticised. I am the best player in history, in both good and bad times.
I won a Ballon d'Or before Messi and then he overtook me winning four in a row. I can't hide the fact I was sad and angry. I went to the awards ceremony and never won. I was even demotivated. I didn't want to go there any more. I wasn't interested in being there for the photo. And then, little by little, thanks to the support of those around me, I said to myself that everything has a start and an end. And that in football, it's the end that counts, not the start. I was patient, and I've won other Ballons d'Or. Today is the fifth, and that pushes me more to keep fighting, without thinking of my age.
I didn't think I'd be able to catch Messi, because after I won my first, he won four, and I thought it would be difficult to equal him. But football gives you the opportunity to keep working and winning, and I have won, and I'm experiencing a great period".
to return and probably start in place of the suspended Pogba.
nothing like him planted in the middle of the park watching the City players speed right by him.It does sound yummy! Can't get enough of that sweet, sweet TAM.
Garber had exactly 0 good things to say about Columbus today in the State of the League. He basically buried the market.Stadium location for Austin MLS is killer. Really hope this thing happens.
OASIS Sucks!
From some Twitterer:Noel is apparently going to be in the Sky studios with Gnev and Carra for the game. Really wish I could see that.
Wait. What? Am I the only one who had no idea?Yep. It was 200 Euros and there is a receipt in the safe. Mom is aware. The only guy in that office who spoke English was a large black dude with Terry Bradshaw's baldness pattern along with dreadlocks.

On a related note, only minutes later he was talking up Cincy (maybe even giving a clue that Cincy is in).
Ha. Nope. That was M. Knight. Shamalanomonam for me too.Wait. What? Am I the only one who had no idea?
I think I’m still lost.Wait. What? Am I the only one who had no idea?

So, out of the hospital on Friday. I had a real breakfast in the hotel today (scrambled eggs) and we ventured out to the Marienplatz and some of the Christmas Market. It is a great atmosphere and I wish I could enjoy it more. Took a few pictures. I walk like an old man and have to take frequent stops. I still can't eat any of the German food, my stomach needs bland, and that is hard to find. My wife is toiling away trying to find a way home for us and it's looking like about 8k as the cost. (I have high school friends that completely unsolicited started a gofundme) Last minute and needing extra room for me to move and minimized layovers seems to add up.Mjolnirs said:At this point I’m hoping to learn soon.I mean other than that how was Germany?
It actually doesn't mean much. The only guys that now qualify are Higuain, Alonso, Bedoya, Qazaishvili, and Martinez. Guys like BWP, Gashi, Nikolic, Moralez, Aessandrini, J Dos Santos, Movsisyan, Adi (1.5 to 2 million) still can't get bought down to non-DP status (notice those are the spendier clubs), so it remains to be seen what this is actually going to do. I mean how many second tier European or first tierish South American guys are there. I have a feeling this may turn out to be a whole lot of nothing.NewlyRetired said:It does sound yummy!![]()
On a more serious note, I did not realize how much of an effect this was going to have. Tenorio broke it all down in this video that is worth a watch for those interested in this stuff. https://www.pscp.tv/w/1RDxlnZZWWzGL
Teams that are willing to spend the money are going to have a huge advantage over teams that don't. And this is going to get the better teams much closer to the better Liga MX teams.
One big thing I missed is that the TAM cap was lifted from $1m to $1.5m. That is likely to free up a bunch of DP slots all over the league.
Seattle, LA Galaxy, Atlanta, Toronto, NYCFC, Orlando and LAFC are likely to be the biggest beneficiaries of this influx of budget to spend since those teams have both the local revenue and the ownership's willing to spend.
This tweet was the most surprising to me. I can't figure out how the Kraft's voted yes for this
Ives GalarcepVerified account @SoccerByIves
I'm told that the vote on the new $2.8 million in team-funded TAM was unanimous in favor of it, so no small-spending teams objected to it, which surprised me.
I was hoping it would link to that
Any good prospects? I know that Morris went there, but after a promising start, his upside seems limited.Stanford is the first school ever to win the soccer championship in both mens and womens in the same year.
The Stanford men have won 3 years in a row, and that has only happened once, going back to the Claudio Reyna/Arena Virginia teams of the early 90's.
