I'm sure there's an explanation for this somewhere, but I've not seen it. Never heard of this before reading about this exception being granted earlier this month. Can they just add him to the roster for La Liga and CL now? If so, couldn't they have promoted a youth player or a Barca B player instead of taking another team's player? So Barca got to add Braithwaite from Leganes outside the window because they had injuries. Meanwhile Leganes- in relegation trouble- lose their top scorer but ARENT allowed to replace him.
That's just ####ed up.
Doesn't explain it, but it appears the rule is for players out injured more than 6 months.I'm sure there's an explanation for this somewhere, but I've not seen it. Rule #1, no slide tackling .... everyone has to go to work tomorrow.El Floppo said:My new office signed up for a rec league...and auto-included me. Ran it by the boss (wife) who very grudgingly allowed it.
There's a Greek and an Italian dude both over 50 who can play. The rest, no idea. And we'll probably be playing against 20-sometgimg chuckleheads.
It's a written rule in the league for sure.Rule #1, no slide tackling .... everyone has to go to work tomorrow.
I wonder if the good people of Iceland feel the same way about Bacon as we do about Rossi.El Floppo said:Looks like Rossi to RSL is completed.
I hope he can stay healthy and have fun playing, the traitorous no good so and so
Yep gonna be watching that one. Hope Nashville can pull out a surprise. My two favorite teams are OCSC and who ever is playing Atlanta.A very very rare league game in prime time on an OTA network will happen tomorrow when Nashville's hosts their opener against Atlanta on Fox.
Sounds like it should be an excellent crowd as they broke 50k a few days ago.
one negative to the league continuing to expand is that every year the amount of fans who are disappointed in their team grows.Yep gonna be watching that one. Hope Nashville can pull out a surprise. My two favorite teams are OCSC and who ever is playing Atlanta.
Orlando's game is sold out too should be a great atmosphere. I'm being optimistic again this year only to get crushed again probably. Both Nani and Dom out so probably going to be tough going. Hopeing for the best though.
All the experts have us finishing at the bottom again. Some are even saying we will finish behind Cinncinati. With our new coach I just don't believe the experts are correct.one negative to the league continuing to expand is that every year the amount of fans who are disappointed in their team grows.
Don’t think most of them would really pin him as a difference maker for their national team. Even when healthy.I wonder if the good people of Iceland feel the same way about Bacon as we do about Rossi.
Like, they're not HAPPY that injuries ruined his career, but they're not exactly SAD either....
When I played in a lawyer’s league, some M&A dudebro came in and creamed one our female paralegals. It's a written rule in the league for sure.
That's even an unwritten rule for pick up.
I think he would have been very very useful for the US if he had stayed healthy. Solid range of skills from deuce shenanigans, to wondo fox in the box, and I'm sure could've mustered some zardoz face shots as well.Don’t think most of them would really pin him as a difference maker for their national team. Even when healthy.
Really curious to see what happens with ATL this year with the player turnover they've had. On the flip side..more time with the coach to implement his approach.A very very rare league game in prime time on an OTA network will happen tomorrow when Nashville's hosts their opener against Atlanta on Fox.
Sounds like it should be an excellent crowd as they broke 50k a few days ago.
One big improvement so far is Pity. He has looked VERY good in the two CCL games, better than I remember him at any time last year.Really curious to see what happens with ATL this year with the player turnover they've had. On the flip side..more time with the coach to implement his approach.
Maybe the ease at which the CBA was signed really was a good indication of the financial health of the league.Wow.
That's a lotta moneys.
Slowest roll in US Soccer club history. and who knows how much longer it will be until they actually play in Miami.Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Just wait.
Inter Miami is an actual team now!
When did that happen? Never thought I'd live to see the day...
lol, I knew there had to be a catch...Slowest roll in US Soccer club history. and who knows how much longer it will be until they actually play in Miami.
They're an actual team until they're forced to change their name.Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Just wait.
Inter Miami is an actual team now!

This makes a lot of sense. Miami has a decent team with no experience at striker.
Well, the injury to Josef obviously sucks. But, I don't really have a MLS team that I follow yet, so I suppose Atlanta might fit the bill assuming Jahn gets increased playing time as a result, at least until they sign someone.Atlanta United about to steal Adam Jahn away from my Rising.
I think @AAABatteries might remember him as the guy whose PK knocked ATL out of the playoffs in 2017.
Wow - great call.
this is not confirmed yet from what I can tell. Many of the MLS national beat guys are still saying Atlanta will be the destination.Wow - great call.
With Beckham, Inter now have two Champions League winners on the team.
Sturridge just got suspended by FIFA until June. I assume gambling?this is not confirmed yet from what I can tell. Many of the MLS national beat guys are still saying Atlanta will be the destination.
Thats FIFA in a nutshellSo Barca got to add Braithwaite from Leganes outside the window because they had injuries. Meanwhile Leganes- in relegation trouble- lose their top scorer but ARENT allowed to replace him.

I don't think that rule comes from either FIFA or its more evil step brother UEFA.Thats FIFA in a nutshell
Thought this was one of those Fifa/UEFA rules or at least if the league makes a rule like this it has to be with in their guidelines with each league having some leeway on how to handle it.I don't think that rule comes from either FIFA or its more evil step brother UEFA.
I think that rule is entirely based in La Liga.
If Juventus and France have shown anything, it’s that Pogba thrives with a complimentary technical player or two beside him. I think it would be criminal to not see how Pogba and Bruno could play together with a dedicated 6 behind them.Thought I would expand on this here instead of the game day: Pogba, IF he comes back, does he get in the team?
A month ago I was saying yes he does. Even on his worst days hes better then Lingard and Pereira. Was hoping he'd move into the 10 spot with McT and Fred behind him. But Bruno has come in and done everything United fans wanted to see from Pogba. So obviously Bruno has made the 10 his.
So who sits>
- Fred has worked himself into a good player and is getting better. Kante type, hard worker, covers a lot of ground, improving his passing. Does get pushed off the ball at times, but will fight for it and recovers well.
- McT also works well, gets in and scores, seems to be strong on the ball, tackles hard and passes well. Formed a good partnership with Fred. Behind Bruno and we have a good trio.
- Matic has been rejuvenated but his passing range is only good to his left. Good positionally overall, probably the only true holding MF of the 4.
I am not sure McT or Fred can be a true holding MF that allows Pogba and Bruno to be free. McT probably more then Fred. On his best days, Pogba is United's best player. But how often do you get Pogba's best? And if he is leaving in summer, what are you getting out of him?
Sell Lingard, Pereira, Jones, Sanchez, Smalling. Heck, if you get your $$ back or more on Pogba, let him go too. Just make sure you replace them. Will need depth and competition for spots.
Still need a right sided winger (Don't think Sancho is going to United). When Pogba leaves, I do like the idea of Graelish coming in since I do think hes an upgrade. Let Fred/McT battle for the 3rd MF spot.
I do not think Ole's 4-4-2 diamond suits United. To narrow and no true wingers. 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 may be best with this group.
That is a good point. The only dedicated 6 is Matic though. I am curious to see how Pogba and Bruno play with either Matic/McT/Fred deeper. And Pogba has played deeper at times too.If Juventus and France have shown anything, it’s that Pogba thrives with a complimentary technical player or two beside him. I think it would be criminal to not see how Pogba and Bruno could play together with a dedicated 6 behind them.
Good for him - totally deserved.Probably only @McBokononknows who Tyler Terens is but he has been doing the lords work for quite a few years calling lower league and CCL games. Pretty much any game that he can get hired for, he calls, no matter how small the team or league.
Today the Chicago Fire announced their new broadcast team and they put together a really nice group.
Arlo White, Tony Meola and Tyler Terens.
Fire games are being broadcast on their biggest channel ever on WGN so it is really nice to see ownership step up and put together a quality broadcast team.
Huh. Nice pickupMontreal strengthened their spine nicely today by signing Victor Wanyama from Spurs.
Yeah, decent age too at 28. And he should be available for the CCL games as well.Huh. Nice pickup
