Pele never played in Europe.Wonder how many CL games played by OG Ronaldo, Maradona and Pele in comparison to Buffon and Zlatan?Pele never did either.Had no idea. Certainly in the conversation with Zlatan and OG Ronaldo. I bet there's a bunch of others though. Is Buffon the best player to never win the Champions League?
Duh. Just remembered Maradona never won it.
Champions League as we know it did not start until 1992. Before that it was only the Champions Cup in which only league champs made it so significantly fewer players participated.
This is true, but I think, and correct me if I am wrong, if a team won their league and the Cup at the same time, only that one team went in to the next cup from their country. I only mention this because of the long dynasties of the teams back then where multiple league tities werer won in a row.

Minor nitty point but the defending champions of the Big Cup were invited back in to defend their title regardless, it wasn't just the league winners from each country
Here is his video to the fans of Birmingham CityTom Brady seemingly buying a piece of Birmingham City, ok then
fypI think Messi will beplayingwatching his first away game from home since joining Miami. Miami goes to Dallas for the round of 16 in Leagues Cup.
He has played three home games in a row.
Why? Dallas has a grass field.fypI think Messi will beplayingwatching his first away game from home since joining Miami. Miami goes to Dallas for the round of 16 in Leagues Cup.

just kidding. no idea what his plan will be, but I could fully see him and Biscuits with a "we bbq from home for away games" clause in their contracts. Why? highlights seem to show that he's enjoying himself.Messi is literally the anti-Thierry Henry in MLS. He's such a supportive teammate. Just an adorable little mensch with a left foot from the Gods. If he makes the rest of the league look like the Washington Generals I'm entirely here for it.

but can he do it on an August night in NE.

This would be an interesting discussion actually. I wonder how the stats bear out. And while they aren't the end all of any discussion they do paint part of the picture.for current #9 players I would rank Kane, Lewondowski and Benzema a little ahead of Ruud.
And we only need more time before Haaland enters the pantheon.
I would ignore the the record, it is relatively meaningless because all games are being played in the US. The records would be much more even if there were games in Mexico. Is that 5g 2a in 225 minutes, give or take?
Also, if my sleep-addled tally is right... It's MLS 14-7-13 Liga Mex so far in the Leagues Cup.
oh gawd - that is worse than the Marcello tackle that earned him a red card in the Copa Libatadores yesterday (Don't look up that video if you have eaten recently)This was a nice tackle I saw pop up in my x feed yesterdayWow. That was dirtier than almost every "old man" or Sunday league game I've ever seen.OMG. Leeds v Barcelona, 1975 European Cup semi highlights.
Lost track of the current-era red cards. Dozens.
#7 started swinging immediately afterward too - wow.Holy ****. That's full on assault. His teammates should have let the wolves have him. Was disappointed to see him upright at the end of the video. This was a nice tackle I saw pop up in my x feed yesterday

Tite is a legend in BrazilAnyone know anything about this guy? I hope it's fake news. I think Oscar has us on the right track.
He and Pepe have been menaces for a long ****ing time. Hate those guys. More than enough reason to keep Real on the perma **** list. Ramos too for that matter.Marcello tackle

The PK call was awful. I don't know if they have VAR in this competition but that was the furthest thing from a PK on a replay.Messi's two goals were pretty last night. Problem is he probably should have had a red card before the 2nd one. Martinez flop to get penalty kick was pretty brutal. Every call seemed to go against Orlando.
Orlando fans calling it Rigged cup instead of Leagues cup. Wonder if the calls will be as blatant when Miami plays the teams from Mexico.
Yes they have VAR. Ref used it to call back Orlando's late 2nd goal. Ref even winked at Miami players when he called for VAR.The PK call was awful. They reviewed but there was definitely contact so VAR stayed silent. Super soft call for sure. The PK call was awful. Messi was mentioned on the Apple Earning call today
It’s so fun watching him - sure it’s against lower competition now but it’s not like he hasn’t done it against top notch competition, and he’s just dominating.Messi is literally the anti-Thierry Henry in MLS. England's stated that they are going to be putting on a lot of extra time similar to the World Cup this year to try to quell time wasting
So be the Overs? What's the average goals scored in the Championship and what's the standard deviation and p-value on an Anderson-Darling?I'd anticipate more goals this year by miles.
it's a ponzi scheme.so you are a soccer fan from abroad who has moved to Minnesota. You decide to check in on the local sides transfers this summer and read this. Imagine what one would think....

Oh man. Clear new winner for "Most 'classic MLS' move":
Minnesota United acquired the right of first refusal on Liam Fraser from Toronto FC for $50k GAM...... then traded the right of first refusal on Liam Fraser to FC Dallas for $100k GAM.

Spaniards are so dumb (and racist).Villa fan shows up to Villa/Valencia preseason kitted out. Proceeds to sign autographs and take photos with Valencia fans who think he's a Villa player.
