Uhhh, Everton Sacks Dyche hours before their FA Cup match?

Did they not think he could lead them to a win over Peterborough United?

Oh and in a fun turn, Tyler Young is on the bench for Peterborough. His dad, Ashley Young is on the bench for Everton.

Bigbottom gets an itchy trigger finger when it comes to gingers.

HAPPY TRANSFER WINDOW IS OPEN DAY!!! :excited:

The one Newcastle rumor I think might really happen is Miggy to Charlotte. I’ve been looking for a reason to pick an MLS team and this might do it for me, @Desert_Power
I've read this is still likely as well.

Not official but it now seems likely Miggy is returning to Atlanta.

@Desert_Power looks like you’re getting Zaha though. I’m interested in seeing that.

I imagine he will have a very Nani like time in MLS

Not a bad consolation prize there. The team really struggled to score consistently last season.

Is that a good thing? It looks like he had decent stats there but can't say I paid much attention.

I think that is good. Nani seemed to enjoy his time and team and even elevated Orlando. I think he had a good impact on the team and I can see Zaha doing the same.
I fear KDB may have more of a Lampard/Gerard type of time in MLS. Nothing to write home about.

Seems to be a few teams circling Rashford and Garnacho.

Sadly, I think Rash needs to move on for his own benefit. Fresh start, probably out of England. Rebuild his confidence and career.
Garnacho is still young enough where I would keep him and see if he can develop. Not sure he fits in Amorim's system and is not yet clinical in front of goal. Can he learn? Maybe. Wouldn't give up yet.

I hope United doesn't do something stupid and sell them to an EPL team. Esp not Chelsea.

Thought I saw where United won't sell Rash to anybody in EPL.

That makes sense, thanks.

I have always thought KDB had a tendency to disappear in many games which is probably a poor fit in the MLS, I agree.

Yeah I did see that too. I also saw they were open to selling Mainoo which would be a terrible idea. So you never know with them.

I want to give that an emoji, but I'm shuked about which one
For an event I think is going to be a tough sell, the ticket prices are ridiculous. I think in some stadiums the absolute last row in the nosebleeds are over $100, where anything in the lower bowls is in the many many hundreds per seat.

I checked on tickets for the final earlier today. Seats in the back rows of the very top sections for about $1,100. The modern dynamic pricing strategies make sense though. Anyone looking to buy tickets now is probably someone planning ahead, securing tickets, travel, rooms, etc. and is likely to pay more for peace of mind. I'm sure they are withholding many of the best seats to maximize what they get as much as possible, creating a false sense of demand and similar nefarious pricing tricks.

Maybe I am completely misjudging the interest level in this event.

I don't think so. I think these current prices are just part of the algo. I expect to see stadiums half-full of spectators who paid ridiculous prices.

Given the stadium sizes, I think half full would be a fantastic accomplishment at these prices.

Mrs. Dinsy signed us up for all the FIFA alerts on tix.

Few days ago she forwarded something and then came down to see if she understood it right. More or less, "buy this ridiculously overpriced thing that has nothing to do with World Cup tix and improve your odds of getting World Cup tix."

After I said, "yeah -- you got it," she walked away muttering "bunch of crooks". Proving she'd understood it perfectly.

Is that all seats or just some special deal?

I got tickets to Bayern match in Charlotte, you could get them slightly cheaper through the club itself later.

The R16 game scheduled here has about the same prices as the Copa semi last year. Skipped those for now as I cannot imagine either game selling out. Obviously the international game is a different flavor, particularly with that rowdy Colombian fan base.

Complete The Last Line challenge by collecting all 15 legendary goalkeeper moments and unlock an exclusive reward. The first 250 fans to complete the challenge will receive a Right-to-Buy (RTB) for two tickets to FIFA World Cup 26™ games, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Here’s how the RTBs are split:
• 1/4 for Match 28 featuring team Mexico in Guadalajara
• 1/4 for Match 32 featuring team USA in Seattle
• 1/4 for Match 59 featuring team USA in Los Angeles
• 1/4 for other group phase games

Don’t miss your chance to collect history and secure your spot at the world’s biggest football tournament.

And you don't "collect" the 15 items, you "buy" them.

Yeah I don't think I'll be looking to get tickets to 2026, even if I do get some I'd likely be charged a grillion dollars for hotels
I live close enough to SOFI, but feel like it would be cheaper to fly to Vancouver to see a game.
Probably also want to avoid any games with the USMNT in it.

I was thinking Vancouver would be a good target as well. My buddy who has done the last few World Cups is targeting Monterrey though. Probably should follow his lead.

Monterrey would be cool too.

Was thinking if you got lucky, Vancouver and Seattle are close enough you could make a nice couple days of games out of it.

Already looking toward 2030 for a trip. I think that's Morocco, Spain, Portugal?

I am still trying to wrap my head around US Soccer possibly taking over the entire college game. The goal is to take on as many teams as want to join and place them into the professional pyramid.

Remind me- what is this about?

It seems that US Soccer may possibly be taking over the entire college game with the goal of taking on as many teams as want to join and placing them into the professional pyramid.

Basically think of it as removing college soccer from the NCAA control.

When under US Soccer control the plan will be to make the season much longer (9 to 10 months).

The hope is that the college teams would be placed at the USL1 level of the pyramid (3rd division). I believe the hope is that this entire new group of teams would also enter the US Open Cup.

This has been a back ground idea for a few years but no one gave it much hope. Three months ago it came to the forefront with multiple parties engaged in making it happen. Yesterday news came out that a ton of progress was made over the last couple of months and that it might even be close enough for US Soccer to make a formal announcement.

Before they can launch this they need probably a certain % of the colleges to have already signed on and then allow for inertia to make a large group of the rest of the schools make the transition.

This probably would have a bigger effect on the womens game vs the men, but it will still help the mens side since we all know that college soccer has been a place where players almost stop developing.

A 9-10 month professional style program will now give a lot more chances to players who for many different circumstances developed later.
