I don't get this....if you own those players and are behind don't you need them to score pts to have a shot?
as long as they are hitting your scoring, yes. The problem comes up when they need to score about 15-20 to crack your roster. The initial push helped a lot of teams before they helped you. if you start below the line and need the player to score big to help you, the cut often moves out of reach. Tonight is kinda odd in that so many rosters were sporting low scores that many of the "value plays" in MNF hit a bunch of rosters early. While I started the night games with almost 30 points of room on the cut in about 600th place, I'm currently in about 1450th right now and almost every play pushing the cut higher. I need to hope CLE holds the ball most of the 4th Q to have a shot, and even then its tough.

wow - nice back to back plays mason/rice!

118.75 I'm just south of the cutline. Looks like the FBG contest will keep me watching the 2nd half of this snoozer! Couple of more catches by Mason might be enough and/or Rice get going.
Im not looking to burst your bubble but both players are highly owned. They are pushing up your score and the scores of many other teams.I learned this the hard way in Week 13 last year. Slaton went off on Monday night that week and I went to bed thinking he got me into the playoffs. Instead he pushed the cut so high that I didnt make it.
If they are your players performing, they will have a much bigger impact on your score than they will on the cut line. The only way that happens if a bunch of players are having huge nights and your players are just having good nights.
Rice is on 44.3% of rosters. Mason is on 32.8%. Hauschka is on 23.2%. Ravens D is on 16.3%.The cut moved nearly 7 points since halftime following big/scoring plays from those players.
Yeah, but for every 3 points they guy score for you, the cut line might go up 1. They are largely owned players, but if you own them, they will benefit you more than they could possibly move the cut line.

As ct said better than I have so far, this is only true under certain circumstances. It certainly isnt true in all cases.

sweet. thanks.i was worried with a sub-par game by rodgers and clark
All that worrying took away your ability to do math?
didn't have the link to the scoring place.why do you care, someone else did the work and I appreciate it.

Yes assuming that these points are actually adding to your score, and just not points trying to overtake someone else on your rooster. But that impact should be similar across the board.

this is correct, once a player is hitting for you, you benefit more than the masses in general for him (since not all of his owners will necessarily get his score, and you move past static teams). The problem in scoring bonanzas like last night is when a bunch of players are moving a bunch of teams forward and you can't keep up with everyone.

Wow last update I'm at 129.05 with Rice and the cutoff is at 129.25. Rice just picked up about 12 yards then MaGehee just picked up about 12. Damn I hope that doesn't move the cut enough. This is gonna be close. I have a bad feeling.

gonna call it 130.05, but may be as low as 129.95 or possibly as high as 130.15.

Made it with 40 or so spots to spare

See the survivors next week! :lmao:

my cuts use my personal live scoring, which is often ahead of TFS updates. site scores usually take a bit to finalize. You will know it's done when Quinn goes to 3.05 overall points

Wow 3.05 and done!!! The final cut looks to be 130.05. Great job and $2 well spent. Thanks! See you next week :X

at 130.25 you may well be one of the last guys in, since scoring errors can push things around a bit. You have a 5 team cushion right now, which is about as far as it's wiggled in the past. there's a bunch of you at 130.25 though, which makes that a safe number even if it creeps up a bit.

ctriopelle - thanks for your ongoing updates and super accurate info, I enjoy following along each week. Also the $2 I paid for TFS was absolutely money well spent. :X

Actually OC does all the hard work, I just crunch numbers in a spreadsheet. The money mostly goes to cover his expenses for hosting the site.I don't mind doing it and would do it for my own benefit if nobody else cared much. I do like being able to let everyone know during the game where we stand though.

safe for another week.

just prolonging the inevitable unless baker/finley become every week studs

still it's fun watching every play on MNF when you're hovering a point below/above the cut all night long!

Thanks fantasystar and FBG!

#163 in the Sim and #177 in the power. Only 1 significant bye left with Schaub in Week 10. As long as Cutler doesn't lay an egg @ SF I'll be in good shape
And what does Cutler do?.....he lays a big, fat, freakin' egg, the size of Chicago. Goodbye everyone....it's been fun. :(
Wow.....I don't believe it. Lowest total from the QB position all year (10.55), no Benson score, no Vincent Jackson score, and I still make it at 139.85 thanks to Ladell Betts and Shayne Graham coming through with 34.5 combined pts.

well my theoretical :D path not taken entry looks like it clocked in at 131.05 which means I can :wall: for another week and  a little more.

:lmao:

Congrats CTP and the other survivors!

Weekly "me too" reply--164+ this week. Still only that one fateful week under 155 points

done at week 9 - when your D leads your team scoring, it's not going to be a pretty week - especially if your D really didn't score that well

And where is the bragging by Lhucks? Did he get his ticket punched too?

I dont care, was just impressed by the laziness. :X

Based on my estimation of this week's injury situations, there are only 2 teams running at the full 24 man roster capacity right now. The biggest population of teams is at 19 active players, with about 270 of them about 1100 of the survivors have 17-20 players.

man i made it with like 145. i didn't think i was close to making it with the egg VJ had and AJ on bye, mendy and grant.

thank you robert meachem and donnie avery lol, and ray rice and rodgers keeps putting up decent numbers,

Adding that team 104835 is one of the 2 24 man teams, and this entry looks pretty solid. if CJ has a few good weeks, he may make a good run.The other 24 man team is a bit strangely constructed. Only 1 Def, a pile of pricier K's, only 1 TE, and only 2 QB's. Loaded up on WR's and RB's, but if the Philly D has a bad week he could have problems. Team 109311.

Well I have 20 except two of my QB's are currently backups, so realistically 18. James Davis, Edge, and C. Henry are done. Shaun Hill or Leinart won't see the field barring injury.

The number crunching is appreciated. As is OC's website... it's very easy to use and has exactly the info we want to see - always the hallmark of a good website.Again, well well worth the $2 I spent to subscribe to the live scoring - I'd urge anyone to subscribe as well to support his programming efforts and site costs.

Should have clarified, I lump benched QB's in with injuries since they are very unlikely to score. I may have a few erroneous injuries that are carrying over and shouldn't be, but it still paints a decent picture of what the field has going.18 player team here from a start of 24. No room for error at QB or RB with only the starting minimum left standing, and those positions are filled by widely held players. Need Witten and my nice core of WR's to differentiate my team. The good thing about having such popular players is that when they don't do well, the field in general is held back.

Team LHUCKS alive with 158 points in week 10.

My RBs and TEs are going to need to pick it up if I'm going to make it much further...eventually my WRs are going to have a down week.

I cannot believe I survived this week. I needed decent games out of Mason, Rice & the Ravens D and got them all. Overcame having to take two 4's at WR (Ocho & Royal)

My WR corps of Ochocinco, Royal and Mason will be my undoing. Rest of the team is solid enough (although Rice/DWill combo is too common)

Thanks guys... I agree, the live number crunching that CTR is an awesome addition to this contest.. Ohh and I'll see you guys next week, made it with 10 points to spare... whew...

Curious what the breakdown is in terms of how many guys the 24-man rosters have injured versus the 20-man rosters, since that's been the great debate.-QG

 Thought for sure I was gone too. Half of my cheap players have either been cut or lost their jobs..I can hardly field a lineup. The Saints defense has been golden though.Plus every other week the Meachum/Henderson combo has had good games. Wells saved my #### this week.

I picked 21 players...didn't read the rules fully and did not realize the last few weeks are points by ALL of your players, I thought it was just a starting lineup again that was counted. I just looked at the starting lineup requirements and thought it was like that the whole season...

Of my 21, players who won't do anything those weeks: Edge, and Cottam. Everyone else is healthy besides Ronnie Brown and the only non-starters are Bradshaw and Michael Bush (Camarillo and Bess could be in there too I guess).

Scored 181 this week with VJack having a horrible game, so hopefully I can continue to hang in there.
