I'm through, but starting to realize that my team lacks the top end scoring likely needed to win the whole thing.
I'm in the same boat. Wouldn't surprise me that I make it to top 250 but not posting hugh scores..
Same here. My team is almost always in the top half of scoring, but rarely very close to the top. So I have a decent shot at the 250, but almost no shot at making any noise beyond that.
Me Three...Excluding my 2 heavy bye weeks (4 & 5), I've never been below 150, but never above 185.

Glad I don't need big points from Romo this week. All the more for next week from Romo, right?
Thats what I am hoping. All I can say, thank god for Miles Austin. Without the emergence of him, Romo seemed shakey at best. Now I am happy to be one of the few teams left that have Romo. Now, only if the Chiefs can hand the ball to J. Charles for more than 9 rushes, maybe I might have a chance in this contest.
I'm one of the remaining teams with Romo and like the uniqueness. Hasselback and J Russell are my other QB's. I had delusionals of J Russell rushing for numerous TD's..

now for the QG :ptts: post of the week :)Thankfully (I guess) the entry that got knocked out in week one finally has confirmed its true inferiority as it's done at 120.3.It has been comically decimated. The bad news of source, keeping me in :ptts: mode is that the theoretical entry that I didn't go with (the soulless pseudo-scientific one) is still going strong(ish) - done at 158.9. This entry does sport 7 guys who either are done with injury or in that LJ permabench sorta category.Good luck to those who are really moving on and those on the bubble this week :) -QG
And the "me too" :ptts:Once again over 155--that still makes every week but one with at least that many points.

Looks like the most dangerous single player for bumping the cut with a big game is FWP. Not that I'd expect this from him, but if he were to do well, there are over 200 at risk rosters that stand to benefit from his points. The only other 100+ at risk team players are PIT D and Reed, but both of them appear to be covered a bit by some decent existing scores. For the most part, players aren't very widely held otherwise, and those that do own them are predominantly on the good side to begin with.
Yeah, I think I'm gone. Sitting with just over 130 and only have the Steeler D left (-8). Less than 10% chance though, not over just yet...

i think i am done as well.

will need huge games from denver D and moreno.

my team is limping along anyway so may as well pull the plug now.

I view half of the replies in this thread like I viewed Tony Kornholio's comments about having this guy, or that guy, on his fantasy team.

Sitting at 130.5 with Willie Parker (-4.8) to go. Simulator says 7.3% chance of making it through. Fast Willie was my highest-dollar RB, and now would be a real good time for him to earn it...

Here's to hoping you get knocked out really soon. Everytime I come in here to read a post, it's just you, patting yourself on the back. Again.
This is undoubtedly the furthest he's ever made it in the $35k contest so sadly it won't help to tell him to act like he's been here before. My favorite was the post where he gloated over all the staffers he beat that week.

Ive got it at 139.2. depending on adjustments, may be as high as 139.3. but shouldn't go any lower than 139.2 since I have lots of ties there.

103 teams bought Betts - but only 7 of 103 are left (6.8%)

45 teams bought Betts and Portis only 6 alive (13.3%)

With Portis's history, and the expanded roster, why would you not spend the $2 to cover yourself?

oh, and 2495 bought Betts, with 464 alive (18.6%)

What I really want to know is ... how many people bought Betts ... 2495 or 103 ???

I've seen the argument made that handcuffing your studs is a waste of money in this contest. That if your stud RB goes down, you're going to be eliminated anyway so rather than spend money on a guy that won't have value until your stud gets hurt, spend that $2 on someone who might produce all year.I have no idea if that line of thought is right or wrong, but it may be why so many Portis owners didn't pick up Betts. You seem to be making the case that it's wrong, but there's not nearly enough info available here to make that conclusion - especially considering that people who bought Betts and not Portis have survived at a better rate than those who bought Betts and Portis.

I'd be curious to see how many of the 57 owners who bought Portis but not Betts were eliminated this week.

Rolling along. Now maybe the Betts investment pays off?!

I cannot believe I am still alive. I never really finalized my roster, but just threw together a bunch of guys that I liked and got it under the cap about two weeks before the deadline.

I also had no idea you could go up to 24 on the roster this year, so I left it at 20 thinking that was the max.

I aslo made two major roster errors; adding Billy Miller who was lost for the year in the preseason and only including 4 WR's. Two of my WR's are on the same team and one is now injured for the year (Chris Henry). I now will rely solely on the production of Ochocinco, Mason & Royal at WR every week.

I was saved by a multitude of lucky breaks in week 8 where I made the cut by 3 thanks to Sanchez's best game, Westbrook's injury (McCoy owner) and Bironas scoring 16 pts. I also made it in week 7 by 3 pts thanks to Ochocinco's 33.8 pts.

Better to be lucky than good I guess. Of course Brees, Schaub, Deangelo, Rice & Ochocinco were good decisions.

Lost roughly 50% of Peterson owners this week.....
138 passed/134 failed. That's an amazing result. Goes to show how much many of his owners were relying on him to get this far. This does bode well for those that made it though.
Agreed that the Peterson owners left are stronger now. Personally I not a Peterson owner but still alive. Now lets rout for a bad day from Rodgers :D
Hey now! :thumbdown:Live stat updates are directly correlated to the survival of my team!

just not enough "uniqueness" in my team. :blackdot:

A Sproles end-of-season run is about the only thing that could save me.

Fell out of the running, by 8 points (#107602). Did pretty well, beating the cut by an average of 25-30 points, but ran into a bad week for all of my receivers--unfortunately, at the same time as my TE bye week. Jennings is probably single-handedly the biggest disappointment of my team (aside from injuries to sleepers), but the remaining core of my team I was pretty pleased with. Ah well, best of luck to those remaining!

QB - Peyton Manning - IND/6 - $32

QB - Matthew Stafford - DET/7 - $11

RB - Michael Turner - ATL/4 - $41

WR - Greg Jennings - GB/5 - $32

WR - Chad Ochocinco - CIN/8 - $27

WR - DeSean Jackson - PHI/4 - $24

WR - Derrick Mason - BAL/7 - $9

WR - Chaz Schilens - OAK/9 - $3

WR - Laurent Robinson - STL/9 - $2

TE - Zach Miller - OAK/9 - $12

I'd love to see Rodgers post a stinker as long as Matt Ryan lights it up!!!
Personally as a Rodgers owner, I fully realize he is no longer going to help me in the Final 250 (assuming he does carry me to that part of the contest). He's already on 50% of rosters, and it's not going to drop that much over the next 3 weeks.Regardless of Rodgers ownership, I think all teams should hope that Rodgers continues to do well until the Final 250 & then bombs.(A) If you are a Rodgers owner, you need a QB2 to do well. Having AR as you scoring QB will not differentiate your team.(B) As a non-Rodgers team, You want to be one of the very few non-Rodgers owners to make it to the 250, then all your competitors will be hurting with AR underperforming.

Betts only! I thought it was a good bet that Betts would be playing late in the season....I gained good depth at RB....But lost C. Henry, so I have little depth at WR now. But that should improve my uniqueness score, which is terrible.

So him scoring 30 points a week is abad thing because he is on other teams? He will help more than hurt if I get to the top 250. There is no way around it.

I wouldn't mind Rodgers having bad week if Ryan picked up his slack.
