***Official Texas Rangers 2011 Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Anyone else going saturday? I'll have 3 hours to kill. And if TAMU loses I'll be in the mood to get absolutely hammered.
I will be there. Not sure how early.
What section? Do you still have my cell no? I'll probably be in the football lots tailgating post game for most of it.
We are sitting up high somewhere for that one. 343 I think.Football lot parking costs more than my ticket. Yep, got your #.

It was awful. I was embarrassed as a rangers fan for the way our fans acted tonight. Booing Cj Wilson twice. Small boos and comments toward Beltre and Josh. I realize everyone wanted and expected a win tonight, as did I. Sad that we had fans that would boo some of these guys that have been so good this year.

I don't think that stuff was as widespread as you might think. Dallas fans are quick with the hook though. Aikman and Emmmitt both got their share even after 3 rings.

I'm still not over the 4th inning. Just epic. I am not totally clear on the foul ball call, but if you believe in the extrapolation it really cost TB just 1 run.

Never seen a crowd sustain an atmosphere like that.

4pm start Monday

19Really have to decide what to do about Lewis fast.
I'm done with him. He needs to skip a start. Maybe give one to Hambuger or even Kirkman when he comes up.
I need to sober up, but there was talk he might get optioned the rest of the year and show up as an emergency relief guy for playoffs. Or maybe I imagined seeing that somewhere in a dream. I can barely see right now.
Ahhh. I forgot about the playoff Colby Lewis. He has redeemed himself from the handful of awful starts during the season. Pitched really well tonight. The homerun didn't even bother me at the time, I just kept saying pull it together and keep it a one run game.

highly reccomend the det/nyy playoff thread as pregame reading.
:lmao: :lmao: I love all the Teixeria hate from the Yankee fans now. I tried to warn them back when he became a Yankee and was crucified. Hope they enjoy his empty stats from here on out.

He put together one solid post-season. That's pretty much it. I also like how he is one of the guys that "for sure never did drugs" and yet that one post-season does not stick out as an anomaly statistical or otherwise.

So how do we watch this thing if we're not by a tv?

Strongly considering making a break for the closest sports bar.

So if we're still a little uneasy about Colby pitching at home, it might be better to not have homefield in the ALCS. He could get two road starts...

vs NYY:

Game 1 (road) - CJ

Game 2 (road) - Colby

Game 3 (home) - Holland

Game 4 (home) - Harrison

Game 5 (home) - CJ

Game 6 (road) - Colby

Game 7 (road) - Holland/Harrison combo

vs Det:

Game 1 (home) - CJ

Game 2 (home) - Holland

Game 3 (road) - Colby

Game 4 (road) - Harrison

Game 5 (road) - CJ

Game 6 (home) - Holland

Game 7 (home) - Colby/Harrison combo

All of his postseason starts were at home last season though, so maybe we can just forget about his regular season.

Colby pitching to lefties at Yankee stadium does not appeal to me. I'd rather see our LH pitchers go there and turn their switch hitters around. If we end up in DET I'd love to see Colby pitch in that park. Either way I hope we see the rotation stay the same for this series.

I think Ogando starts in any Det series.

I would think Ogando should start as well, but you know the OSB, he would #### up what is working. Haveing that guy be able to shut down any inning you choose on back to back days is an impressive weapon.

BTW, 28,299 yesterday for a must-win game four? 31,000+ for game three? Sellouts my ###. That team deserves much better than that crappy ballpark and that fan support.

Well that bridge is very hard to get across in mid-day traffic.I think the Yankees take this home. Means tue/wed/thurs games here. Not ideal, but whatever.

Seems like we should have said more about Harrison's outing yesterday. 9 Ks in 5 innings in your first playoff start is nice.

Are you guys thinking he should be replaced by Ogando? I don't think I'm on board with that.

Really good point. Harry was, well Dirty, yesterday. If anyone besides CJ would have had a rough outing, I think Ogando would be in their spot, but that didn't happen. So I think Ogando stays in the pen, but I would use him for multiple innings.BTW, is the MVP of yesterday's game Mark Teixeria? He basically pitched 6 innings, got the win and the save, while giving up 3 runs, on 6 hits, walking 3 and striking out 10. All the while playing solid shortstop and hitting in the number 2 spot.I will love that trade forever. For me, it has passed the Herschel Walker trade.

Pretty sure he also sat on his ### in Boston somewhere.

Of the 13 losses Rangers have to Yankees and Tigers, Dave Bush started two and Hamilton missed five games and Beltre missed two.

...

Arthur Rhodes also pitched for the Rangers in five of those losses, and recorded the loss in two of those games.

Team is now 44-13 when Kinsler, Andrus, Hamilton, Beltre, Young and Cruz are all on the lineup card.
:goodposting: This is not going to be the Ranger team either of those teams saw. :boxing: :boxing: :boxing:

I'm uniquiviocally for Deet in this situation tonight. And my opinion on this will have a significant outcome on how the game goes tonight.

Actually after looking at the NYY splits they don't hit righties very well, although most of the HR's come vs righties..... If Colby can keep the ball on the corners he could be very good. I'm actually leaning to him pitching game 2 now so he can be available for a potential game 7.... also, Ogando and Feldman need to be ready vs the Yanks...
