with AJ gone Soto has quietly had a hot streak running. He was at one time a decent hitter. Get that back aboard this thing and you all of a sudden have some ways to keep AJ on the team and gives some breathing room in NL parks.

 
My wife is a die hard rangers fan and as such we watch almost every game.

My lesson learned from this game....set up a video camera.

Colby Lewis (elbow) acknowledged on Monday afternoon that he's unhappy with his fastball velocity.
Lewis was sitting around 85-86 mph in his rehab start Monday at Double-A Frisco and wants to be closer to 89-91 mph by the time he returns to the major leagues. The hope had been that he would be ready to rock during the first week of June, but a more realistic timetable calls for him to be activated near the middle of the month. Lewis is on his way back from major right elbow surgery.

Really needing this guy to be a #4 SP for me.

Yep, JD was on the radio today and pretty much confirmed this. They are in no hurry to bring him back. The same goes for Soria and Feliz. He talked of Soria having a strain and that it was a "silver lining" that it would allow him have more time to heal overall.

AJ comes off the DL tomorrow, so that's a good, even though they haven't missed him too much.

 
Jamey's report today puts into perspective just how insanely stacked the odds were against Ross Wolf actually pitching in the Ranger's system, actually pitching for Texas, actually starting for Texas and actually winning a game.

Former uber propect at the Profar level, Jesus Montero, is being demoted from Seattle to AAA and is at risk of being fired into the sun. Shows how unpredictable these super prospects can be.

If a corner OF shows up on the market prior to the trade deadline you won't see me cry to lose one or two.

gosh, do you guys remember how DVD was supposed to the cornerstone of the Rangers' turnaround and untradeable? even though we hate the guy now, the best thing the Rangers did was to trade V part of that thing.

He has a 2+ WHIP now. I'm not totally sure he deserves to not be outright released at this point. He's out of options I think but I bet he clears waivers without even a second look from other clubs. Dude is terrible.

After no baseball, we get 20 straight days of games.

Random fact: Only two starters (Yu and Dutch) have enough innings to qualify for the ERA title. Just shows how beat up this rotation has been so far. Ogando starts Wednesday.

 
so, murphy, that's right murphy, just struck out carp

and he pitched the only clean inning of the game for the rangers.

Last night after our 9U select team practice. Watching the game at BWW with 1/2 the team.

Nellie "misses" that fly ball and most of the kids at the table say (almost in unison) "I COULD HAVE CAUGHT THAT".

[SIZE=12pt]According to the Rangers, lefthander Michael Kirkman has had a recurrence of a cutaneous lymphoma (skin cancer) located in the area of his right triceps. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=12pt]Originally diagnosed with it in January 2012, Kirkman underwent treatment just over a year ago and will resume treatment now, while able to continue baseball activities. A complete recovery is anticipated, the club says, though there is no timetable for his return.[/SIZE]

Oh man, that's too bad. I thought it was a "DL" move. Skin cancer that young is no joke. It can take you down in a hurry.

 
Feel really bad about Kirkman. It had to be tough to go out there and pitch with that on your mind.

11-game homestand hopefully will help things out a bit. The DL list is beyond insane at this point. #treadingwater
