This show has to hold the record for most FFA posts/episode trashing the thing. It's not great, and there's some really stupid stuff, but it's not terrible and can be mindlessly entertaining.
That would be fine if that was what they are going for. We could just sit back, have a :banned: and enjoy.Instead they were at least attempting to be a drama about a serial killer and his Followers and it has become a Soap Opera, and a bad one at that, where you have to suspend any once of belief to enjoy it and just go along for the ride.

I think a lot of us were hoping for more, especially with Keven Bacon as the lead. :kicksrock:

No, I understand the "Why" she got into the car.. It was the "How" that was  .. The guys were in their car and looked to be about to speed away, when out of the blue Claire comes running up behind them and jumps in the car.
I think you're :stalker: for something to :hophead: about. They weren't all :drive: , they were all :coffee: :stirspot: waiting for her. You think Roderick would have gone back to Joe yet again :missing: Claire? They had just :ninja: Ryan's friend. Why hightail it out of there at that point? If Ryan comes out, great, they get to :boxing: :deadhorse: . If Claire comes out, even better, they get to :pokey: :bag: .Plus, if I recall correctly, once Ryan came towards the car, that's when they actually started it and :drive: :thanks: :bye:

:lmao: PERFECT for this show!!

The problem is they built this up to be a cable quality series on network television. It was supposed to be an intelligent and well done thriller. It is neither really. It's even stupider than a lot of things already on network television.
:goodposting: Watching the first episode or two and the last few are like two completely different shows. I remember my wife saying she wouldn't watch the show without me after the first episode. When Maggie Grace got killed and we found out about the gay guys who were planted by Joe, it was a really good show. It then got silly, as in US Marshall standing right in front of a door he knows the bad guys will shoot into, of course not wearing a vest like the bad guys. It went from actually being a thriller that was legitimately scary to being something you laugh at watching Claire again hop into a car with psycho serial killers who seem to have the best hackers/equipment in the world.I just long for the girl who wrote all over her body and killed herself and Maggie Grace getting kidnapped. It didn't last long, but man, that show had promise and that show is not what we got.I am still watching the mindless entertainment, but I think so many complaints stem from how good the show could have been with a little bit of effort and talent.

Fair, and I get that. Maybe if this was on Showtime I'd be expecting that, but my expectations for a show like this on Fox are pretty low.Speaking of Showtime, Claire has a nice role on Californication.

Pretty much. I think the early buzz was "this is as close to a Dexter as you'll get on network TV". If that's true, it's pretty sad.

Yeah that's the point. They sold it as something you would see on Showtime. They didn't deliver.

Have you seen the writing on Dexter?

I enjoy Dexter despite the terrible dialogue writing.

The first few seasons Dexter was pretty darn good. And even now it beats this.

I agree but lets not pretend the writing on Dexter is top notch and that there arent loopholes galore

I thought the first 2-3 seasons were pretty tight on Dexter really. But after that the issues started to pile up. Off subject a bit but I think more shows should run one to two seasons max. Have a defined story arc and a defined number of shows to wrap it in. Like a long movie almost. It seems to me a lot of shows get in trouble when the try to stretch it out further than they should.

Season 4 with John Lithgow is my favorite of the series.

You're right I should have included 4 that was a very good season.

Sure, just send the 12-year old junior FBI agent (in the red Star Trek shirt) off into the catacombs by himself. What could possibly go wrong?

This may have been discussed before, but: Would it be a huge stretch for them to actually REVIEW THE TAPES OF WHO VISITED PSYCHO JOE IN PRISON? I mean, call me crazy, but they could id this Molly chick and probably lots of other people. But then maybe it wouldn't be as "good" a show.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Molly... *sigh* can we have someone, anyone who isn't a plant please?

haha good point

What I want to know is when Hardy is going to realize that everyone has a "follower" and start to suspect people like this Molly chick.

Or better yet, they could, you know, actually review the tapes from the prison to see who visited Joe. But that would be too easy.

and again, there were like 50 police officers that showed up after Ryan and the other woman went in. Where were they all when the red shirt was letting out the cult members?

red, red, RED, RED!!!!!!

My wife and I were making all kinds of red comments.

"I thought you had a RED car"

"I guess I RED the situation wrong"

"I RED an interesting artcle today"

"Do you like my RED streaks in my hair"

Yeah, that is one hell of a plot hole, isn't it....

In reality, there's no way that law enforcement wouldn't have watched those tapes.

The other thing that always confused me about it is wouldn't those conversations be monitored as well?

Yeah, well, they would have except that the guy responsible for maintaining the video is a follower and destroyed all the footage. We just haven't seen that yet.

Thinking about giving up on this show. There are 4 episodes left. I can't imagine anything will be resolved this season and this will all continue to next season, right?

Nah, the FBI will find the house but everyone will get away.
yeah, probably.

I'm done...deleted from Season Pass.

I will enjoy the continuing frustration of others by reading this thread though.

I decided a while ago not to watch anymore network dramas but this one caught my attention and I thought it might change my thinking. After a couple of good episodes, it really went downhill fast. Not even fun to goof on anymore. Too bad. It had some potential.

watching last night's episode right now. 15 minutes in, and nothing amazingly stupid done by the fbi yet.

I wonder which of the followers invented the invisibility cloak they all wear.
Hey, that was my comment a couple pages ago. Then again, my comment was part of my "Not Following" spoof about the quirky, charming yet oh so stupid FBI Special Cult/Serial Killer Task force.

As to the show, I still have the last 2 episodes DVR'd as part of the PrimeTime recordings on Dish's hopper. It wouldn't shock me if I just ignored them and they dropped after the 8 day limit. Heck, if it weren't for them reshowing it on Saturdays, I'd already have lost 1 episode that there is no way I would have tried to figure out where I could watch it online.

Yeah, you're right. But your comment was funnier and sarcastic. I think I used mine in a different way, referring to the way a Follower can make a sound in one room, and then suddenly be behind the FBI as they go to take a look. Maybe it's not an invisibility cloack at all and they are using a matter transporter?

I want to like this show so much more than I actually like it. Kevin Bacon is good, but I hate pretty much every other actor on the show. and the general population of the show are all morons. hey, if you get shot with a freaking speargun in a diner after some obvious lunatic sits down across from you, it's your own fault!

I like that idea. Pretty sure Joe and his two followers used that to magically appear in the house where Bacon, Egg and Cheese were interrogating the militia guys and of course for Joe to have time to get around Cheese, zip tie him in a chair and lock the impenetrable cage. Seeing as how Bacon followed Joe and Hair Gel out the same way they came in, there has to be a matter transporter to get around Bacon and surprise Cheese. Well, that or Bacon decided to go around a different way.
