Andrea dying sets this up quite nicely actually... it would likely be a season 6 event though.

What will really throw Rick into insanity is if Carl starts to look at Glenn and gets jealous of Maggie because she is tapping the pizza boy. Carl may want to have Glenn deliver him some pizza. If that happens, Rick will probably off himself.

And those answers about Andrea were ridiculous. The prison over woodbury was a good reason and obvious...but to say the audience was too stupid to realize that they knew more than Andrea? BS...we all know when she knew the gov was a bad guy...and she still got in the car to go back with him...she should've killed him and everyone knew it...so they had her sign off with "i just didn't want anyone else to die" BS.

Even that scene was done stupidly...the kid hesitates so much and has this devious look on his face like he's about to double-cross and fake putting down the weapon.
Carl was justified...how are we as viewers supposed to buy that Carl may be slipping into Shane territory if they show it such a way that it was a good shoot?Or at the very least...have Dale Jr tell Rick the whole truth..."Well Rick...the dude was lagging on dropping the weapon...he acted like he was going to drop it...but in real slow motion...he simply took too long and Carl blasted him before we could really see if the guy was going to drop it or not."
And the damn reason they didn't just shut the gates and lock "the others" in...setting them on fire or just shooting them like fish in a barrel was because we had to have Rick take the whole town in and gov had to escape...just dumb. So many other ways to accomplish that goal that would've actually made some sense...This show just does not deserve it's ratings or all the money it's raking in...the writers just don't give a damn...they know they have a cash cow and are just mailing it in every freakin' week.

Have there been some absurd plots and stories? Sure. But is anyone tuning in expecting Shakespearean writing?

So my cousin went to the International Auto Show in NYC last week and said she met an actor who said he was in The Walking Dead. He was black and had dreads. She posted a pic of this actor on her facebook page. This is the pic of the actor she posted.

Perhaps I've been spoiled by great writing on other shows and don't think we should have to put up with lousy writing simply because the show has zombies on it. AMC seems to think, and perhaps rightly so, that the audience for this show has little expectation of good writing and will continue to watch no matter what because they want to see zombies killed.

i think complaints are fine but why would you waste you time on a show that is a "piece of crap" or that you have so many issues with? If i watched a show and had so many complaints about it I would just stop watching. that doesnt make any sense to me.

moments.. Sure.. but in the end the show entertains me for the hour it is on and has me looking forward to next weeks episode..It could be worse.. a show like the Following makes this look like The Godfather.

For example, they rewrote the finale to include the Andrea/Milton scene but made it laughable by having Andrea stop and talk to Milton in the middle of it. Instead of making her seem to be a tragic character it made her look like an idiot.

Mazzara's version called for Andrea to be killed without escaping and Tyreese finding her after she's dead. That scene was re-shot just so they could have Andrea meet up with Rick's group before she died. That's fine but at least film it so that it doesn't make Andrea look stupid (or have magical handcuff skills).

Yeah, but they filmed that shot too close up and they cut away too quickly. Didn't even give us enough time to appreciate the kill. The double head slice could've been SO much cooler!(kidding of course)

It's annoying because I tend to start off vertically and only rotate once those quotes get ridiculous, but yeah - easiest way to fix it. Definitely a design flaw.

It didn't really work because at that point all hope had been lost by how ignorant her character had behaved the entire season. Overall, though, I think this is a great show. I think all aspects of it are extremely well done. It doesn't always blast home runs out of the park every week but I think the show has been terrific and I can't wait for each new episode. That's enough for me.

That's such a copout. No one is expecting Shakespeare. We're just expecting what we were sold (and what we had) at the beginning.
The writing on this show used to be good. We got sucked in by a show that was a realistic portrayal of a zombie apocalypse (assuming you were willing to expect the unrealistic idea of zombies as the basis) where people acted like people really would in such a situation and dealt with problems that would really come up in that situation.
What we have now is basically an action flick that's short on action, where character motivations are all over the place and make no sense and where realism and fight choreography are ignored in order to get the characters/story into a certain position. I'm fine with forcing characters into stupid decisions and inconsistent behavior to move the story along in an action movie. I'm fine with adjusting the limits of a person's skill (headshotting from 50 yards with a pistol one day while missing from 20 yards with a rifle the next) and tactics (let's just make really loud noise to make them run off and then go chasing after those 60 people with 3 of us) to create action in an action movie/series. None of that is what The Walking Dead was until recently. It's one thing to have that stuff in something that clearly establishes that it's that kind of show, it's another to have it in a show that has established itself as something else.
I also wouldn't be ok with Jesse Pinkman taking out the entire Mexican drug cartel in a warehouse with a pistol while dodging bullets with backflips. However, I'm ok with Arnold Schwarzenegger doing it to an entire terrorist organization in True Lies.

The only real issue I had with this season was with Andrea. I thought her character was butchered and her actions typically made little sense and were not given any meaningful form of justification until the very end and by then it was too late. I thought the character development for all of the other main characters was quite good. I thought the writing was typically strong and often superb. I have no significant complaints with the show. I wish the finale had been stronger but I still liked it.
If others think the show has slipped that's their opinion. This won't be the first or last show which sees fans begin to lose interest, voice displeasure etc. For me, it remains by far my favorite show on TV. Nothing happened this season that would lead me to feel any other way.

The writing was never that great in the first place. I think it's been pretty much the same throughout the series.

She's a woman. Her motives and actions made perfect sense. If you take the character from the beginning...she's nothing more than a follower....a person easily swayed by a more powerful personality. She was going to kill herself because another woman wanted to. She was a disicple of Dale for awhile. Shane turned her on and she got faux tough. She hooked up with Michonne and immediately became her #####. And when The Governor threw her some lumber....she became a Real Housewife of Woodbury......all the while she's playing the "mamby-pamby" Civil Rights lawyer(which she was before) angle that there is no black and white...only grey in regards to choosing sides and having to see people get got.
I think the problem with the character is that is seems like the creators/writers are/were trying too hard to project her as a character that we should have sympathy for. She's nothing but a #### up.

Where the show has failed with her specifically and the others generally is in the idea that they should be showing flashbacks to their lives before the #### hits the fan. If they did that....and showed her as a real "gray area liberal" (and I don't really mean to bring politics into it....I just can't think of a better term)....you'd understand more the actions of the character.

I agree with this. What was Andrea supposed to do? I think people underestimate the attraction of a safe functioning town in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Her best case scenario for survival was to convince the Governor to leave Rick's crew alone and to maintain her favored position at Woodbury. That is exactly what she did.

I liked Andrea's character evolution through Season 2. She went from being someone who had lost all hope to being a strong, independent character whose primary flaw was highly suspect taste in men. I could appreciate her staying in Woodbury after Michonne left because she was hoping for a sense of normalcy (although that was a stretch but I was willing to accept it). But once she saw the walker heads and the fish tank and Merle and Daryl in the Thunderdome she should've hit the road ASAP. Pretty much every moment with her character after that only served to undermine everything about her I liked before. Again by the end it felt more like a mercy killing when she died as opposed to a powerful loss on the show (which seems to me is what the writers tried to do if they did re-write Mazarra's original script). I didn't care anymore about her which is too bad because I had grown to like her character a lot by the end of Season 2 when she was in the woods alone and Michonne saved her.
