Not surprised that you missed the point here.Good call. I mean, what are the chances that a farmer would have some veterinary experience?Good thing he was shot by a guy who lives in a house with a doctor.![]()

It was more than yet another petty complaint about the show? If so, sorry. Hard to tell around here. Not surprised that you missed the point here.Good call. It wasn't all the way protected. The vet even said that they had lost several neighbors, and even his wife had succumb to the outbreak.A remote spot like a farm might be your best bet if they mostly travel in packs - or as mentioned before maybe some have different behaviors.Maybe I missed something but how is the farm protected from the zombies? Or is that part of the mystique we are going to find out about?
I thought this was a horrible episode.
Again are zombies just walking around aimlessly like the one in the woods or are they sticking around certain places like the High School?
Line of the season. The inconsistencies with the shows are tough to overlook sometimes and last night was particularly annoying.1. Doc & family living in Shangri-la. I get that because of the remoteness of the farm they be able to go unnoticed but then you just see random walkers in the woods so how do that many people go that undetected for so long.2. Scene at the school at the end. You launch all the flares to distract the zombies, great idea, absolutely good plan of attack. Grab all the gear you need, especially the really cool widget meals-on-wheels calls out because at some point it will play a part in the story down the road then your escape plan is to open the door and run? And forget about trying to scout out some semblance of an escape route, lets just run willy-nilly hither & yon. With a 375lb out-of-shape redneck. Those were glaring to me but I thought the show was entertaining because it's a show about zombies. I liked this episode just wish they wouldn't do stupid stuff like the above.'badmojo1006 said:"Merle got the clap sometimes"
Was so obvious.especially the really cool widget meals-on-wheels calls out because at some point it will play a part in the story down the road
They never clarified, but I got the impression this was more about the initial outbreak. As soon as they got to the farm, my first words to Mrs SacBob were along the lines of "I can't take any survivors seriously that don't have their windows and doors boarded up".It wasn't all the way protected. The vet even said that they had lost several neighbors, and even his wife had succumb to the outbreak.
I thought she wasn't wearing a bra until that.As soon as the Doc's daughter in the orange tank top bent over to start working on the kid, I thought "Well, there's two new reasons to keep watching this show."
Pretty slim, actually. There's a big difference between birthing a calf and performing thorasic surgery for a GSW.'goonsquad said:Good call. I mean, what are the chances that a farmer would have some veterinary experience?Good thing he was shot by a guy who lives in a house with a doctor.![]()
Plus the farm was only 2 miles off the road. The whole kid surgery angle and getting the supplies is a little weak. You have a school 5 miles away crawling with zombies plus zombies just cruising around in the woods but yet there is this farm that is untouched and seemingly nobody is guarding it or taking watches. Unless like I implied earlier there is more to the "Farm" then meets the eye.I will ask again, why are there not more automatic or at least semi-auto weapons? I mean a crossbow and shotgun and hunting rifles are the last thing I would want. They never clarified, but I got the impression this was more about the initial outbreak. I think he was freaked out about the part that infant flesh and blood were all over the car seat. What is your guess as to what freaked out T-Bone when he saw the car seat and it was splattered with blood?Either the baby was eaten by zombies :X or the baby turned into a zombie and the parents shot it :X
The crossbow is great because it's quiet. The shotgun also seems like a good idea because it's good in tight areas. The hunting rifle obviously would be best for long distance shooting. Obviously it would be a lot easier to accumulate ammo for guns that are more prevalent. I wouldn't necessarily be going out of my way to find automatic weapons. I would however have more than one gun on me at this point. Not that hard to tote around a backpack with some handguns or something.Plus the farm was only 2 miles off the road. :brilliant:This is a disappointing prime rib recipe. Which is a shame, because I really had high hopes for this recipe. But it seems like it can't make up it's mind about what type of prime rib it wants to be. I could handle a prime rib recipe that was simply about roasted meat. That's a perfectly valid approach. And I don't object to a more sophisticated prime rib recipe. But this is a recipe with sophisticated pretentions that just don't work. C'mon. Garlic and mustard? You call that seasoning? There was talk that this recipe had improved from last year, but I've got to say, it still feels lifeless to me. I'll probably cook it next week, but i doubt I'll enjoy it.Prime rib recipe:Ingredients 1 (10 pound) prime rib roast 6 cloves garlic, sliced salt and ground black pepper to taste 1/2 cup Dijon mustardDirections Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C). Make slits all over the roast by pricking with a small knife. Insert slivers of sliced garlic. Season the roast with salt and pepper, then spread generously with mustard. Place on a rack in a roasting pan, and cover. Roast for 60 minutes in the preheated oven. Turn off oven. Leave oven closed, and do not peek for 90 minutes. The internal temperature of the meat should be at least 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) for medium-rare, or 155 degrees F (68 degrees C) for medium.Awesome show. Best thing on TV now.![]()
Where do you think you're going to get all these automatic weapons so easily? Gun stores would have been scavenged during the initial outbreak, not to mention that any semi-populated area is completely overrun with zombies.Plus the farm was only 2 miles off the road. They never clarified, but I got the impression this was more about the initial outbreak. 1. Doc said neighbors became zombies as well as a few family members. Once you knock out the zombies around your secluded area you are pretty safe2. You're expecting all of these people to be smart with every move. There were a #### load of zombies so it's not unreasonable to go a little overboard and throw out more (or all) flares. You probably are thinking it'll give you enough time anyway and you need all of them to walk towards the flares. Throw a few out and only a few walk towards them doesn't help you at all. They are also under a tight time constraint to get back.If from the start of the show the characters were portrayed as highly intelligent, completely logical people then I would have an issue with this show but that hasn't been the case from the start.Line of the season. The inconsistencies with the shows are tough to overlook sometimes and last night was particularly annoying.1. Ah because those types of weapons draws attention by the noise they make. I never assume time is moving sequentially between scenes.Seemed like there was still daylight at the farm when it was dark at the school.
That dude is by far my favorite character. #noracist'badmojo1006 said:"Merle got the clap sometimes"

Can't get enough of this show. Wish it was 5 nights a week. To those who look for every detail to complain about. You would be the 1st to go in an apocalypse.
So why are there stray walkers just wandering through the woods not more than a couple of miles from the house?Once you knock out the zombies around your secluded area you are pretty safe
Who's to say they don't kill a wandering zombie every now and then. The had the chick watching with binoculars. And they do have a wide open spread with no trees. So they'd see a walker coming from quite a distance. Kill it quite and back to home. They haven't mentioned it in this series, but other zombie movies have talked about zombies retaining some memories and going to places they knew. Perhaps a farm off the beaten path is the perfect place to be.So why are there stray walkers just wandering through the woods not more than a couple of miles from the house?Once you knock out the zombies around your secluded area you are pretty safe

You need to post more than once a week. I love your handle almost as much as I love your observations. Can't get enough of this show. Wish it was 5 nights a week. To those who look for every detail to complain about. You would be the 1st to go in an apocalypse.
Am I crazy or was there some blue meth in that bag of stash? Didn't Daryl mention "crystal" or "meth" when he brought out the bag? I could have sworn I saw a bunch of blue stuff at the bottom of the bag."Breaking Bad" ref?Good god, that actor playing the doctor SUCKS. I doubt I've seen worse.
Seriously? Dale's 'surprised' that they didn't find a stash of antibiotics in the few cars they looked through? Oh, don't worry, redneck has a stash, he just never thought it'd be a good idea to mention it before, even when one of the group had a 7 inch rusty car slash on his arm.
Actually, as loony as Froglova seems to be, that post makes sense. Also, I believe season 1 did show that peeps go back to their old haunts, right? Didn't dude and his kid that helped out Rick have to whack their moms because she kept coming to the door?Oh, sorry. Blue "Meth" caused the pandemic!!!!!!!!!!!! 96% was just fine but the little bit of extra in the "blue" causes our DNA change.Am I crazy or was there some blue meth in that bag of stash? C'mon, Daryl wasn't actually surprised just his way of deflecting that he had been hoarding meds. He never really considered himself part of the group so why would he want to share his stash? It clear that he now considers himself a member and probably the leader. It will be interesting when he meets up with his brother again.Good god, that actor playing the doctor SUCKS. Even on DVR. Seems like 4-5 minutes of story and then 4-5 minutes of commercial. I also still had lipsync issues. Anyone else having technical issues with the sound? It wasn't as bad as last week for me, I was able to correct it with the receiver better, but when I turn to other channels with that correction in place, they were all off. Usually the receiver adjusts it automatically and I don't have a problem. So, I'll probably finish out the first half of this season, but it's on life support for me. I jammed through season 1 in 2 days so I didn't really have time to notice how much it deteriorated (though the Vatos episode was obviously terrible). BSG went through a terrible stretch in season 2, and I doubt I would've stuck with it if I hadn't been playing catch up, so I'm trying to keep an open (well, actually closed) mind and give it a chance. It's just disappointing to find a show and then lose it.

Dale is the old man, I don't recall anything about him hoarding meds. He said he was surprised that they didn't find anything when he was alone on the highway with T-Bone. Merle's brother is Daryl. Not sure that enough happened to make him think he's a member from the time T-Bone was hurt to when he offered up the bag of meds.C'mon, Dale wasn't actually surprised just his way of deflecting that he had been hoarding meds. Yeah, I meant Daryl. He needed a catalyst in order to decide to share the meds and T-Dog about to die was a pretty good one.Dale is the old man, I don't recall anything about him hoarding meds.
