Not really sure what Captain America has to do with this show, but roll with it.
Creativity. Or the lack there of in todays movies and shows.Despite that, I love the Walking Dead and can't get enough of it. The school scene next week should be awesome. Fat guy running for dear life. Not really sure what Captain America has to do with this show, but roll with it.

Billy Beane is kind of a superhero. That's not a very good answer. I just checked the listings for my local multiplex and not one of the movies playing there is superhero based.

Seriously? Dale's 'surprised' that they didn't find a stash of antibiotics in the few cars they looked through? Oh, don't worry, redneck has a stash, he just never thought it'd be a good idea to mention it before, even when one of the group had a 7 inch rusty car slash on his arm.

Can't get enough of this show. Wish it was 5 nights a week. To those who look for every detail to complain about. You would be the 1st to go in an apocalypse.

XJust because the premise of a story asks the view/reader to suspend their beliefs doesn't mean that all bets are off. Why not have Rick shoot lasers from his fingers then? Maybe give one the characters the ability to fly and crap grenades?Let me get this straight:
We have a TV series about zombies, and people are trying to pick apart the finer logistics of the plot.

You guys are great!
What exactly is it that you want to happen? The kid was shot and T-Bone was cut last episode. We will see them running around the school in the next episode. We got 3 minutes of a zombie scene in the parking lot. We are basically at the same point we were at the end of the last episode, except the kid is in a bed. Outside of introducing a few new characters, nothing happened.

After an hour of TV, I'd like it to be further along than it was at the end of the previous episode. What exactly is it that you want to happen? The kid was shot and T-Bone was cut last episode. Hershel has his own way if dealing with the zombies.
I have my problems with the show but you guys have to be
now. If you don't like it don't watch.
"Merle got the clap sometimes"
Between that and the "Shut Up" when he shoot the zombie he is becoming my favorite character.Plus the farm was only 2 miles off the road. They never clarified, but I got the impression this was more about the initial outbreak. As soon as they got to the farm, my first words to Mrs SacBob were along the lines of "I can't take any survivors seriously that don't have their windows and doors boarded up".It wasn't all the way protected. The vet even said that they had lost several neighbors, and even his wife had succumb to the outbreak.
The whole kid surgery angle and getting the supplies is a little weak. You have a school 5 miles away crawling with zombies plus zombies just cruising around in the woods but yet there is this farm that is untouched and seemingly nobody is guarding it or taking watches. Unless like I implied earlier there is more to the "Farm" then meets the eye.
I will ask again, why are there not more automatic or at least semi-auto weapons? I mean a crossbow and shotgun and hunting rifles are the last thing I would want.
seemed they had someone out on the porch
most of the time..How does that work in the dark?Plus the farm was only 2 miles off the road. They never clarified, but I got the impression this was more about the initial outbreak. seeing as the house is "In the open" with woods a good distance away, it would be easy enough to see some wandering Dead heading towards the house..
And they all seem to realize the last thing they want to do is attract attention to the house so they all carry bats.
That would make the zombies in the church a little more realistic.Actually, as loony as Froglova seems to be, that post makes sense. Also, I believe season 1 did show that peeps go back to their old haunts, right? Didn't dude and his kid that helped out Rick have to whack their moms because she kept coming to the door?Oh, sorry. I forgot the zombie rules.Who's to say they don't kill a wandering zombie every now and then. The had the chick watching with binoculars. And they do have a wide open spread with no trees. So they'd see a walker coming from quite a distance. Kill it quite and back to home. They haven't mentioned it in this series, but other zombie movies have talked about zombies retaining some memories and going to places they knew. Perhaps a farm off the beaten path is the perfect place to be.So why are there stray walkers just wandering through the woods not more than a couple of miles from the house?Once you knock out the zombies around your secluded area you are pretty safe

Haven't hit night time at the farm yet, so I guess we will find out.
And Shane seemed already positioning himself to move in.. Not as a "best friend" to Rick as he wants Rick to believe. One thing no one seems to be mentioning is at the beginning of last weeks episode we got a flashback to when Lori was waiting for Carl at school and was discussing her relationship with Rick. It seems like Lori and Rick did have problems.
Building back stories and Characters seemed to be what this week was about and did a decent job of doing that.. Hopefully the back stories will continue. You mean like dead people walking around eating live people? The people who are making statements like this are enjoying the show for entertainment value and not for essays on the finer points of boarding up houses or picking apart the show based which weapons are most desirable in the event of a zombie attack. As has been discussed before, any show or story, no matter how realistically implausible, still needs to operate within the "rules" that are set within that world. It's a basic tenet of storytelling. Doesn't surprise me who the people are who make statements like this.Let me get this straight:

You guys are great!
Still, the entertainment value in this thread by people who take this so show so seriously is well worth it.
The writing of course could be better, but the FFA TV critics are out in full force on this one. For some guys if the show isn't named The Wire then it just sucks. This show is very entertaining, that's all I care about.IRRC, their marital problems were made evident before Rick was shot. Not sure this constitutes a spoiler but wasn't that part of Shane's characterization in the comics? I think telling this story via flashback is a lazy way of doing it. If you recall the very first scene of the first episode in season one, Rick and Shane are in their patrol car and Rick is talking to Shane about how his relationship with his wife is all screwed up. This is right before they get the call for the police chase.IRRC, their marital problems were made evident before Rick was shot. Yeah, this latest flashback was the view of the argument from Lori's perspective. It showed us that Lori was the one with issues which may explain why she was so quick to hop into bed with Shane. It also showed us that Shane had been positioning himself to bang Lori before anything had happened to Rick.If you recall the very first scene of the first episode in season one, Rick and Shane are in their patrol car and Rick is talking to Shane about how his relationship with his wife is all screwed up. Also, Lori ordered Rick not to go after Shane at the high school saying she couldn't do this alone. Of course, Rick had no business going anywhere. But Lori to me seems incapable of handling the stress of the environment on her own. I mean she slept with her presumably dead husband's best friend during a zombie apocalypse with a young child to see after. Yeah, she's not going to win any Wife of the Year awards - even taking the zombie apocalypse into account. Also, Lori ordered Rick not to go after Shane at the high school saying she couldn't do this alone. Not really surprising. Without the trappings of civilization, a woman would immediately be on the lookout for a man to offer protection. It's hardwired in the DNA.Also, Lori ordered Rick not to go after Shane at the high school saying she couldn't do this alone. Of course, Rick had no business going anywhere. Not sure if it jibes with the "novel" (did I say that with a straight face?) but it almost seems like she could have been sleeping with Shane before Rick's shooting.IRRC, their marital problems were made evident before Rick was shot. I do not think we can judge Lori too harshly for sleeping with Shane, the zombie apocalypse puts all normal sense of morality by the wayside. Or does it make morality that much more important, since it is what defines us as human. Maybe morality becomes like a ghost in the event of an apocalypse - just a blurry vision of what the world used to be, a haunting if you like. Also, Lori ordered Rick not to go after Shane at the high school saying she couldn't do this alone. I disagree. She was awful quick to hop into bed with Shane. Sure she thought Rick was dead but she was still pretty quick to pull the trigger on getting down with Shane. And by her own admission in the flashback, she's the one with issues. I realize normal rules get tossed out the window during a zombie apocalypseI do not think we can judge Lori too harshly for sleeping with Shane
but you'd at least like to see the wife show a little mourning period before getting her sex back on.Not sure exactly what would go down in an apocalypse, but I'm sure people would be clinging to each other like crazy. It's not like you lost one person. You lost your mother, father, sister, brother, husband, neighbors, friends, everybody all at once. Some people might turn to sex to "get away" from the insanity of the situation. While it's ok to say she should have waited, society in an apocalypse doesn't operate under the same rules as we normally do. Which is what makes a zombie apocalypse so intriguing to so many.'packersfan said:I disagree. She was awful quick to hop into bed with Shane. No idea.. never read the comics.. I've mentioned it before... I am glad I never read them.. The Written material to TV/Movie screen, IMO, fails most of the time (See Dean Koontz, Dan Brown, etc..)
