I do not think we can judge Lori too harshly for sleeping with Shane
I disagree. She was awful quick to hop into bed with Shane. Sure she thought Rick was dead but she was still pretty quick to pull the trigger on getting down with Shane. And by her own admission in the flashback, she's the one with issues. I realize normal rules get tossed out the window during a zombie apocalypse :) but you'd at least like to see the wife show a little mourning period before getting her sex back on.
Not sure exactly what would go down in an apocalypse, but I'm sure people would be clinging to each other like crazy. It's not like you lost one person. You lost your mother, father, sister, brother, husband, neighbors, friends, everybody all at once. Some people might turn to sex to "get away" from the insanity of the situation. While it's ok to say she should have waited, society in an apocalypse doesn't operate under the same rules as we normally do. Which is what makes a zombie apocalypse so intriguing to so many.
She's a tramp. It's OK to say it. ;)

We'll need a whole lot more like her when the zombies come after us. Fast. Easy.

AMC renews "The Walking Dead" for Season 3.

Sweet.

Link
That...........just.............means..............they..........................are.................going...........to.................be.................................................................................................................... ...............telling.....................................the.................same.............story.............at...............................................................................a..............................slower...................................................................................................................................................................pace.

I remember watching LOST for the first season and the next episode after they announced being signed for a second season, they showed the characters out playing golf in some field. From then on, they just continued to stretch the storyline, dragging it out. I never made it through Season 1.

I doubt they do it here since they already have the story laid out in the comic books. How many seasons would they be able to do based on what is already written? I goof on the last episode but one thing you can't really complain about overall is the pacing of the show. They do move it along.

Let me get this straight:

We have a TV series about zombies, and people are trying to pick apart the finer logistics of the plot.

You guys are great!
As has been discussed before, any show or story, no matter how realistically implausible, still needs to operate within the "rules" that are set within that world. It's a basic tenet of storytelling. Doesn't surprise me who the people are who make statements like this.
You mean like dead people walking around eating live people? The people who are making statements like this are enjoying the show for entertainment value and not for essays on the finer points of boarding up houses or picking apart the show based which weapons are most desirable in the event of a zombie attack.

Still, the entertainment value in this thread by people who take this so show so seriously is well worth it. I do love your being offended by someone having the temerity to question the seriousness of the discussion - which doesn't surprise me, BTW
Well, since dead people walking around eating people is part of the world within the show, yes that falls under the "rules" set within that world. Sorry to disappoint you, but I wasn't offended. I just find it typical of you to try and make yourself feel superior at the same time as showing that you have no idea what you're talking about.
What it all boils dpown to is this:As an audience member, you're presented this world. You want to understand this world. You want to what would happen in this world if somebpody does X or character A does Y and watch that play out. The actions take the lead. When you get soemthing instead that looks more like the results are leading the actions, it feels like a cheat and lazy. The results are taking the lead and the actions are just contrivances to get there. Sometimes it may not be an action, but a rule of the world is bent just to get the story to a certain point. When this happens the audience feels cheated.

You missed the best show on TV in the last 10 years.

One thing no one seems to be mentioning is at the beginning of last weeks episode we got a flashback to when Lori was waiting for Carl at school and was discussing her relationship with Rick. It seems like Lori and Rick did have problems.
IRRC, their marital problems were made evident before Rick was shot. I don't remember specifics but pretty sure she was obviously was falling out of love with Rick prior to the tragedy.
Not sure if it jibes with the "novel" (did I say that with a straight face?) but it almost seems like she could have been sleeping with Shane before Rick's shooting.
The TV series doesn't follow the novel
Shane gets shot and killed by Carl, Rick's kid during a confrontation at the original camp. Lori is pregnant presumably from Shane.
I think it follows it about 75% of the time. And as for your spoiler...
I think Lori is still pregnant and that's what the doc at the CDC whispered in Rick's ear at the end of season 1.
And for those #####ing about the pace, it's supposed to be a character drama that just happens to have zombies, not a zombie show with characters thrown in. If you want to read the comics, I can upload a file with all 89 issues that can be read on any nook or kindle. Just say the word. I went through 89 issues in about 10 days. The comic has slow moments two, but they always have a great payoff.

Yup. The only ones I consider serious contenders are The Wire, 24's first few seasons, and Breaking Bad. Even with a DVR, I made sure not to miss that show as did a ton of people I know.

I made sure to watch it live, instead of just catching it on DVR when I had a chance. We even had viewing parties with neighbors :nerd:

First off, you're right about "Lost" being one of the best shows of the past 10 years. But I was so into the show I can't imagine being with a bunch of other people watching it at the same time. I wouldn't want anything to distract me from the show. I was too focused on it. I was the same way with "The X-Files." :nerd: :nerd:

 I tried again in Season Two and made it only one or two episodes.

Wasn't for me.

My wife watched to the end.

Just got all caught up, including this week's show, and read the last 7 or 8 pages of this thread... a few points:

1) :lmao: at this thread

2) doc's daughter is HAWT!! WELCOME to the show!! :excited:

3) perhaps Sofia is with Merle? :tinfoilhat:

4) Daryl is my fav character so far, aside from doc's hottie daughter

5) herd != heard :grad:

6) definitely noticed the Breaking Bad-style blue crystal

7) how long till Rick reveals that he knows that Shane was banging his wife?

of course there are plot flaws, but it has still held my attention, and I will keep watching

And though I never expected to get a reader, I got one from my estranged dad last Xmas out of the blue. I friggin love it. I'm a purist on a lot of things and that's why I didn't even look into them at all, I figured I'd rather walk to the library for books. But man does this make things easier, especially since I got into Demonoid during an open enrollment period. Even without Demonoid, most classics are at most $.99 if not free or the .99 covers a range of classics in one compendium. Plus it's internet gets me into wiki, goodreads, the Barnes and Noble store, or whatever. Just tapping a word can take you to a dictionary which I used with Blood Meridian more than I have with all other books put together (just finished it last night, not what I expected). LA county libraries have ebooks that support nooks. It's really just an awesome device for a voracious reader like myself.

Slider6 and Mad Sweeney...check your PMs.
Thank you sir!I'll have to become familiar with Calibre. I've got a kindle that I'll be reading these on after I finish WWZ.
How's WWZ? I've got it on my Nook, but trying to finish up the Hunger Games first.
Best zombie book out there. A buddy listened to the book on CD during a road trip and thought it was awesome.
The audiobook has a great cast.link
