***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (6 Viewers)

The one thing I don't understand is why Beth did what she did. That seemed so out of place. Ok you are all distraught and emotional but when you essentially see for lack of a better word 'your family" show up after you thought they were all dead and then you hate some lady you have been with for a couple of week enough to not even say hi to everyone? And you hug Noah? then you stick the lady with some tweezers? Really.

The Beth death scene is perhaps the worst moment so far. That was really terrible. That was a serious what the #### moment.
Agree, that made zero sense (other than Beth being a woman). Writers clearly wanted her off the show, I presume so they wouldn't have to deal with her singing demands every week.

Why did Rick even tell everyone he killed the dude, why not just say he was caught by walkers/biters/rotters/dead ones before he could get to him

Yep. The writers showed us (almost) absolutely nothing that would suggest or explain why Beth would try to shiv Don like that.

That would be fine and what i expect the final episode to be like.

I was just hoping for some closure soon before the show got unwatchable.
It's a great show right now and that's all that matters. Why rush the stove?
see bolded above.

I don't mean to end it this season but for me i just feel like I am watching some mindless show at this point with no direction.

I get it. people love it, ratings are great and its a cash cow.

I'm just bored and losing interest

Especially considering she saved Beth and then Beth just saved her life earlier that same episode.

I know the theme of the show is how this new world brings out all the evil in survivors...but I'm getting tired of all the mustache twirling bad guys each week. I would be much more interested in how they survive, grow, find others and even cure this outbreak then moving from bad guy to bad guy every week,
You need to listen to Beth then. "This is it. That's all there is."Most people have found their survival groups. If you're walking into a community that isn't some sort of government-operated disaster relief area, bad stuff is probably going to happen.
I get that and some of it is fun...but at some point IMO the show needs to get away from constant bad guys and more towards survival and even a zombie war ala WWZ to take back the land....this is glorified batman with a new special guest villain every few weeks.
This is my main gripe as well but according to the comic readers this IS the core of the narrative. There is no larger goal. Just survival and revealing the nature of humanity when all hell breaks loose.
Thx for the info - I guess thats why I am losing interest as it is essentially a 1960s Batman series....special guest villain for a few episodes ....I love the WWZ book the most and wish iut was made into a true HBO type series ala Game of Thrones rather than TWD....I am just more interested in the tales of survival and hwo the army would fight back vs Zombie armies rather than this type of stuff...can't blame the show for sticking with what works though i guess

Suicide by cop?

Perhaps part suicide. part self sacrifice to rid the hospital group of a ####ty and evil leader

I guess im the only one who didnt like rick basically murdering a guy in handcuffs.
Said that while we were watching it. He's basically just a cold-blooded murderer. I mean really, you kidnap a guy (a fellow cop in a past life, mind you, so they supposedly had the whole brotherhood thing)...but you kidnap a guy, and he pulls a fast one to try and escape. Understandable right? But instead of just recapturing him and holding him, you shoot him point-blank in the head in the middle of the street? After running him over with your car? Seems like Rick has skipped the whole anti-hero aspect that was so powerful in Soprano/Draper/White and gone straight to #####. I don't see very many redeeming qualities about Rick, and I think it brings the show down from what it could be.
####, in Germany attempting to escape prison is not a crime. It's considered a basic instinct to try and be free.

Rick is an #######.
If two members of his 'family' weren't being held captive by his people he would have let him go.

It was harsh what he did but Rick did what needed to be done.
Really? Simply bringing him back wouldn't have also done the trick? He was cuffed and unarmed. Pretty much inexcusable to shoot him at that point. He wasn't remotely a threat, and wouldn't have been their problem in another hour.
He tried to get the guy to give up. That's what he was saying over the radio. But he couldn't let the cop get back to the hospital. So he ran him down.

At that point, I thought the guy said, "I think you broke my neck." That guy was toast in the new world.
It wasn't like they could send the guy back to hospital group with a broken back. It might have killed the deal.

I felt Beth's decision there was to take her out much like Dawn had taken out Henderson... Henderson lost his way and now so had Dawn so it was time for her to go..

Or it could have been..

Noah wasn't going "willingly" he was doing so as to prevent any more bloodshed and to protect Beth...

So Beth was paying him back for the protection and then BAM

either way I didn't have a problem with what she did, just caught off guard by the shot

I thought it was Beth telling Dawn she wasn't going to win. Dawn got real smug with Noah saying "I knew you'd be back" and that pissed Beth off. Had Dawn not said a thing and not tried to gloat nothing would've happened. But Dawn got cocky and Beth wasn't going to let her have that victory. So she reacted.

Did Noah even leave with them at the end of the episode?

In the scheme of things in that world Don was hardly evil. A tyrant, sure, but I wouldn't go as far as 'evil'.

She was mad that Don made Noah stay there and thought killing Don would allow Noah to come with them.

However, what kind of plan is stabbing her in the chest?

Something an 18- or 19-year-old girl would think up on the spot?

IIRC, he asked him several times to stop. What's he supposed to do after that.....let the guy run back to warn the others?

Agree head-shot was putting him out of his misery. Dude got a shot to give up and decided to try and outrun a car. SMRT

Beth was always kind of a nitwit, so I guess stabbing Don and potentially getting all/some of her friends killed in a shoot-out makes sense.

Man, thinking of a series that would be like The Road. I really enjoyed the book and movie but how depressing would that be. :sadbanana:

So they had no way to leave the church after they boarded it up? There only method of entry or exit was supposed to be chopping down the door?
Or you just ply the board off pulling out the nails, like the board eventually just falls off anyway. But you might not want to pull the nails out because then they magically stand on end, all on their own so that someone might step on them.

Yeah it didnt make sense at all. What was she expecting to happen after that?

However, her action compared to the Sad Reverand's was sane and logical.

In the scheme of things in that world Don was hardly evil. A tyrant, sure, but I wouldn't go as far as 'evil'.
She killed Hanson

She allowed the officers to rape

She manipulated Beth into killing people

all to acquire and maintain power

She was pretty damn evil...

That was Hanson, and she was gonna cap that guy who said she was losing it and lie about it.

Did anyone else notice, or find interesting, that at the beginning of the episode, when Rick runs down Bob and Bob says, "I don't know you, but I am beginning to understand." Then Bob Dies.

Cut to the end of the episode, Beth says, "I understand now (sic)" and then she dies.
No opinions on this or was it just not as interesting start and finish as I thought?

Rick has allowed slavery and rape? Rick has a bloodlust for maintaining power?

Yeah, he wasted a bullet on that broke back cop and sent Carol away oh and that whole farming crap. Other than that I can't think of anything else.

Rick never allowed women to be raped and he never manipulated Beth. Theirs was a love so powerful, yet never consummated.

I was just making sure you didn't forget. You know, like I did, with his name and my reading comprehension.
