A zombie in the well would have infected them? How? Haven't they shown little to no concern for zombie blood and pieces infecting them before?
Injesting the water? I can't recall if the CDC guy mentioned if it was a virus, but if you think about a cold, shaking hands won't transmit the virus. It is taking that hand that now has the virus on it and touching a spot on your body (mouth, nose, eye) that allows the virus into your system. They have obviously seen that zombie blood on the skin doesn't turn them, but no idea if drinking contaminated water does.
So they're worried about drinking the water with a zombie in it but not worried about having zombie blood and guts splatter across their uncovered face?
They already know that blood and guts on their skin won't infect them. I don't recall a scene where they got blood in their eyes or mouth. Also, pretty sure the whiners brought up 28 Days Later early on as a good example and that show has an early scene where the girl tells the main guy that they had to kill her friend because he got some of the blood in his mouth. Seems fairly plausible as an answer based on other zombie lore.
Right, blood splattering across ones face leaves no danger of it getting into your eyes or mouth.
Who said that it didn't? What scene have the shown where someone splattered blood across their face and wasn't worried? If there isn't a specific scene then I have no idea what you are complaining about. I remember them putting zombie guts on themselves in Atlanta, but they used gloves and put them on extra clothes they put on top of their regular ones.Let's put it simply, they haven't been drinking zombie infected water and they were worried about doing so. How does that contradict what you are worried about? Do you think they should drink the water without worry?

Here's something I don't understand. Why were there so many dead people in the traffic jamb vehicles?
I had this same question.
I was wondering about that as well. I don't recall if there were people in every car, but I could see some suicides (pills, poison, knife, gun, etc.) and maybe people raiding supplies and killing someone else. We saw the kid guts in the car seat, but hard to tell how someone died if they have been decaying in the hot Atlanta sun for a few months.

I agree. You just do not drink well water with a dead animal/person floating in it. Ever. Regardless of whether or not it is the zombpocalypse. Dead things carry disease and harmful bacteria, which will kill you. Throughout history armies have poisoned water sources by throwing dead things into them.

My points/thoughts.1. The whole no gun thing on the farm makes ridiculously no sense. Them agreeing to it seems silly.2. Still no explanation about how they keep the zombies off the farm.3. Nobody even asked a question about the zombie in the well and sending the kid down there was just insanely out of the realm of possibility. 4. That farm is no longer "yours" pops. Its basically anarchy and the group has the guns. You cannot make them leave.5. The dialogue is still beyond putrid.I am really thinking of giving this one more week.
:bye:Seriously.. If this episode didn't "do it for you" it's time for you to cut ties and walk away.

Something else that occured to me thats a huge flaw.

Why didnt Shane and Otis just go to the pharmacy since it was closer than the school?

Too much crappy dialogue and its taking way too much time for anything to develop. Now its going to take the rest of the season to slowly find out what the farms secret is and how they narrowly escape...again, just to be on the road again for season 3.

 This is just searching for flaws. Do you think a local pharmacy serving a rural area is going to have surgical supplies? They went to the school because FEMA (I think?) or the Red Cross had setup a make shift emergency area and Otis knew they had the right suppliers (he was an EMT). Feel free to go to your local CVS, walk in and ask them to give you the items you would need to perform surgery on a kid from a gun shot wound and then realize that that CVS had 10 times the supplies as the local pharmacy that they went to that was already picked clean.

You are grasping here and I think the schtick on them still being on the highway or the farm next season is wearing thin.

They are doing #### to develop T-Dog's character.
Good, they can off him soon.I liked the episode and for those that are wanting more zombies, sorry to break it to you but the more the show progresses the less it is about zombies I would think.
The show's never really been about the zombies. It's a character-driven story. I'm cool with not showing them or a lot of them all the time.
I dont mind character driven shows. The problem is I dont give two ####s about any characters except Daryl. I dont mind shows with no zombies the problem is how many ####### times can I hear the same conversations about them finding Sophia, and Carl is feeling better now, and do you believe in God, and the blond #####ing that she cant have a gun, and Shane having that conflicted look on his face, and that dyke worrying about her daughter, or Dale imparting some wisdom that just sounds so smug like hes everyones father, or Rick and his whore wife having a conversation which they clearly have no chemistry or love for eachother anymore. ITS THE SAME ####### CONVERSATIONS AND PLOT EVERY ####### EPISODE. Next week I predict they look for Sophia, the old man imparts some mumbo jumbo about having faith to Rick, Rick & his ##### sit there with nothing to talk about except Carl, the blond #####es about not having a gun, the dyke looks worried, and they sit by Carls bedside again.

so Shorty and Farmer Girl had sex on the floor of the pharmacy, without even locking the door? what if a zombie had wandered in? "hold on walker, just give me 30...more...seconds!"

I heard in a show podcast that the guy who plays Daryl said that the farm is surrounded by swamp on 3 sides so they only have to cover one entrance. Maybe they will mention that.

He also said

the entire season will be at the farm.

Please tell me that the weepy broad with the crew-cut dies.

It's true. Shady and pantherclub are trying way too hard. Shady's post above reeks of him reading that HOF posts and trying to do that here and pantherclub decided to throw in the "and in Season 3, Rick finally asks Lori whose kid that is" joke that was funny a few weeks ago. That said, I also didn't say that this is a "good" thread. ;)

Let this stuff go people and play along. While I would like to see a realistic zombie show someday, this is not it.

See, that's why I like you. Just because I run the show doesn't mean I am too biased. I understand criticism and while I don't enjoy it, I will listen with my ears only partially covered and saying Lalalalalala very low. That said, you may not enjoy every piece of literature that I give each character, but you will at least think before criticizing and I appreciate that.

Hey, if you weren't my mistake. Just looked a lot like you were trying to go over the top similar to some quotes in a thread about the best posts in the FFA that was around a couple days ago. I get annoyed easily when people complain so much that it takes a thread down where any discussion about the actual show is gone. It happened to the Lost threads and it was the same couple guys over and over again, every week. There is a pretty obvious line where complaints jump from decent discussions to just trolling to annoy people.

I think I'm done with this show. I'll record it and fast forward to the zombie parts. blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Kill 'em all zombies!Horrible.
Its obvious that you want this show to be something it was never meant to be. All of the action in the 1st season mislead you, I think.

Pregnant? I don't give a damn about a woman being pregnant when I'm watching a series about zombies. They're doing a total crap job this season. For crying out loud, GET OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THAT DAMN FARM! Move along already. No need to spend an entire season doing the same thing every episode. Forget about that stupid little girl and get the hell back out into the real world. :wall: :wall: :wall:

They shouldn't have been there for longer than the first two episodes anyway.

She was pregnant in the comic book and the farm was also a big deal as well. I'm ready for them to move on too but it's part of the story. That said, they should have found Sophia a long time ago since she was only lost to provide a reason for them to find the farm.

I have no problem with them being at the farm or on the side of the road for a couple episodes, but enough is enough. It was fine over the first two episodes. Time to move along.

Not a particularly good series in general, but this week's episode was the best one of the season IMO.

It's definitely setting up some nice tension all the way around. I too am getting tired of the search for Sophia. However, the upcoming conflict with Merle, Daryl inevitably having to choose a side - Herschel's hiding soomething, his decision over whether the "guests" must leave/or can stay, and his anger when he learns the guest(s) is/are banging his daughter - Shane deciding that there may be 'a chance' with Lori (probably learning that he fathered her unborn child), and possibly making a move against Rick... Are just a few reasons to hope for some entertaining episodes moving forward.

It's unfortunate that the writing and acting are subpar for an AMC original (although there is source material involved, so not sure if that qualifies as 'truly' original).

Have to agree that there aren't really any characters I care about, and the guy playing Rick is terrible to the point of distraction (the actress playing his wife is even worse to the point I'm rooting for her to get killed off), but the general dark shades/tone of the show is intriguing; and apocalyptic fiction in general strikes a chord with me. So I'll continue watching and hoping that the writing/acting improves.

Have to agree with those who've basically said if this episode didn't encourage you, then you might as well stop watching. I think this was their best overall effort of the season...

Well yeah, I would like to see more than one zombie in an episode but I don't need to have a lot of action to be satisfied with a show. Some great writing and acting can overcome that but I'm getting neither with Walking Dead. Mad Men has no action and it's one of my favorite shows. It's a shame. I was really excited to see this show when it was announced. Now, at least two or three times and episode I find myself fast-forwarding. As soon as Daryl said "There's an old story about that flower..." ZIP! Enough with the lame stories and monologues.I want to like it in the worst way because the zombie scenes are really well done but that's all there is for me right now.

I think I've found your problem. It's a series about people, and a series with zombies.

I hate this freakin show. The acting is bad, the plot is bad, it's all so stupid. Why would anyone watch this crap? Whover watches this doesn't know anything about what a good plot or acting is or should be, and they're all morons.

I'll chime in next week with my thoughts on the next episdode.
